16 Jane's vacation

The Morning sun peeked through the clouds, birds about their morning rituals, a gentle cool breeze, golden light everywhere, covering natural and man-made creatures. It was a new beginning.

Jane stretched on the bed and rolled as her alarm sounded. She woke up, looked around for a while trying to get sleep off her eyes. Her eyes landed on a book laying around, she picked it up from her bedside, said her prayers, and continued reading the novel from where she stopped last night.

It was a contemporary romance novel, flipping to the next page.

Her phone rang, she picked up her phone from the bed and accepted the call.

"Hey baby, Good morning," the voice said from the other end.

"Good morning love," Jane responded. " How are you doing," she said as she blushed.

"I'm fine babe, how was your night? Hope you slept well?" he asked showing concern.

"Yeah, I did, hope you slept well too?" Jane asked.

"Yeah, I'll be coming this morning to pick you up," he informed.

It was the weekend and they needed to chill from the week's stress. Jane got into the shower, came out tying a towel. She picked a top and trousers from her closet. She was going out for a weekend vacation with her boyfriend.

Jane packed some of her clothes in a small size traveling bag.

Jane wore a black jacket, white innerwear and black trousers with a pair of white sneakers. She was 5'7ft tall and had blonde hair. Her lips were smooched with red lipstick. She walked into the living room and met her mom seated on the couch and going through her phone.

"Good morning Mom," she said, moving to seat with her. "Nathan and I would be going out this weekend, for a vacation."

"Awwwnn, that's lovely." She said with a smile.

Nathan arrived at the compound honking his car.

"Oh Mom, I think he's here. We are going to San Francisco." "Wow, that's some miles away from home, do well to visit your brother before you leave. Okay?" her mother said.

"Good morning Mom," Nathan said greeting.

He wore a white shirt and black trousers and white sneakers. They had planned their outfit a while ago. He stood 5'9ft tall, with blonde skin and thick black hair with little beards.

"Good morning," she replied to him. "How are you son," she asked cheerfully.

"I'm fine, and you?" he asked her.

Then turned to give Jane a light kiss. " Good morning love," he was smiling like he won a lottery. Mrs. Johnson looked at them in awe remembering her life as a young girl.

"I'm excited," she replied with a smirk.

Nathan let out a light chuckle.

He told Mrs. Johnson about the weekend vacation.

"Yeah, Jane was just telling me before you walked in," she said grinning at him.

"Okay then, shall we?" He asked, looking at Jane with his hands stretched out to receive hers.

They had been in the relationship for about eight months and Nathan hadn't met with Jane's brothers because they barely come home. Nathan came from a wealthy family too and they had mutual understanding and respect.

"Have fun, you guys!" Mrs. Johnson said as they were about to go out.

"What a wonderful couple," she said smiling as they Left. She called her maid to get her a glass of fruit juice.

Jane and Nathan were heading to North Beach in San Francisco. It was a long ride from Los Angeles to San Francisco and Jane slept throughout the journey. They planned to visit the beach, lodge in a hotel, and visit her brother on the third day.

They arrived in North Beach and enter a restaurant first to eat lunch.

"Babe, wake up," Nathan said tapping her gently.

She opened her eyes slowly, and her eyes widened when she saw the restaurant Nathan parked in front of. Nari restaurant.

It was big and the outside was a beauty to behold. They walked inside holding hands and sat still, as they waited for a waiter to attend to them.

The place was filled with people. It had round tables and chairs around it. It was well illuminated. Walking straight from the door you would see the counter where some young girls who served food were. By the side of the counter was an ice-cream fridge. At the end of the wall, there were tiled slabs attached to the wall which formed a long high table and had high chairs for the customers. The restaurant was painted cobalt blue color. It had a staircase that lead to a bigger room for the customers to eat.

"Hello, welcome to Nari, what do we offer you?" the male waiter asked politely.

"Pizza," they both echoed. It was their favorite junk to eat outside. "And cold stone vanilla flavored ice-cream," Jane added as she looked at Nathan with a shy smile.

"Did you call your brother to inform him of our visit?" Nathan asked.

"No..no," I intend for it to be a surprise," Jane said. "And what if he's not in town?" Nathan raised his eyebrows. "Okay, I'll call him when we're about going to his side."

"Okay, that's better," he replied to her.

He was a bit nervous since this would be his first time meeting Henry.

The waiter returned with their order served on a tray. "Your order is ready," he said smiling politely.

They ate and went outside.

"The pizza here tastes so good," Jane said as they walked out.

"Yeah, that's right," Nathan added.

They entered the car, Nathan turned on the music to make the ride more interesting as he drove to the beach. It wasn't so far from the restaurant.
