"Why didn't you tell me!" I whisper-shouted, accidentally tripping a boy. He shot me an antagonised glower.

"That the school's greatest hottie is your target?" Lynn asked slyly, dodging a pen whizzing overhead. "Well, sweetie, you never asked." She feigned innocence.

"Someone got their sassy pants on?" I muttered, rolling my eyes.

"That aside, you still got loads to do."

"Don't you mean, 'we'?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "Didn't you say 'We have a deal'," I said on a high pitched falsetto, mimicking Lynn's voice.

"Nuh uh. First, you should insert maniacal laughter plus a sexual undertone if you're trying to imitate me," she said.

I didn't know whether to laugh or scowl. I settled with my usual marble carved demeanour.

"More like, sexually frustrated undertone," I muttered under my breath.

"Ugh. Why am I so sexy?" She said dramatically, fanning herself.

"Not. The. Point." I said through gritted teeth.

"Well sure, Back at our boring ted talk." She faked a yawn. "I can help you plan your moves, but some sudden turn of events might require your own

speed thinking."

"And which you are sorely lacking," she added.

"Thanks for the friendly reminder," I huffed sarcastically.

Deliberately ignoring my remark once again, she said, "We have an upcoming Meet Fest, right?"

I nodded slowly, not sure of what crazy idea she has in mind.

"You can treat it as a chance to befriend Erin. Triggered Levvers means my cue to leave. Toodles!"

Mock blowing a kiss, She slid away before I could reply. Damnit.

The day went normal, when I knew what to expect.

I befriended Emma and Izzy, two girls who sat next to me in Calculus. And a semi cute guy- Lucas walked me to Trig. Emma and Izzy's conversations involves 10% gossip and 90% giggling, it was easy to catch up with while I was lost in my own thoughts about Erin and my upcoming plans.

"Hey, Earth to Levi!" Emma waves frantically in front of my face. I batted her hands away playfully.

"Sorry guys. I was thinking of something." I replied mindlessly, spinning my water bottle idly. I need to gain his trust, and with his trust I can do anything...

"Or of a certain someone?" Izzy said, while Emma nodded knowingly. Well, you're technically correct.

I rolled my eyes, joining Livia in the laughter.

Erin let out a long gasp and dramatically fainted onto Livia's lap.

"My Levvers is growing up so fast!" she said, fake-sobbing and pretending to wipe away a tear.

Livia piped up eagerly:

"Maybe you're going to have your first k-"

I screeched to cover her words. Livia and Erin immediately burst into a fit of giggles and snorts. An agent for a spy society who kills people without much of a blink of an eye is afraid of kisses. Hilarious, really.

I groaned.

"Anyway, there's Meet Fest coming along, right? Y'all going?" I asked, driving the conversation out of the dangerous waters.

"Of course!" Emma said, her head bobbing up and down enthusiastically, "we can go together if you'd like, and have a shit ton of fun,"

"Count me in," I said, and they beamed broadly.

Emma POV

"Wake up Em!!" the new girl Levi hissed, prodding at me.

I stirred awake, realising I'm in history class. My cheeks heated up as I felt the entire class's judging gaze targeted at me.

"S-Sorry" I muttered, embarrassed. Lucas looked over, biting his bottom lip in pity, his eyes sparkling with empathy.

"He looks so cute…" I mused.

Lucas looked startled, as a couple of giggles and snorts were heard. As I was wondering why Lynn whirled around in her seat in front of me.

"You know… you said that out loud, right?" she said, the corner of her lips curled in a smile.

I let out a barely audible groan. I can't believe this!

"Ugh, this class has to be cursed or something." I murmured.

The teacher stalked over in front of my desk. I gulped and forced out a weak smile.

"Miss Solphie, can you tell me what the definition of Civilisation?" he asked.

My mind went blank. Several other students' hands shot up like a bullet, while mine was shaking out of fear.

Erin hissed, "Filops,"

"Uhh… f-flip-flops…?"

A wave of laughter rippled through the room. I looked over at my friends. Levi was snickering quite a bit, while Lynn wasn't even trying to hold her giggles in. Even Lucas couldn't help but smile slightly at my ridiculous answer. The teacher let out a loud sigh.

"That's the third time this week you've decided my class would be the appropriate time for a nap. In addition to your lack of attention you show in class, you can't even answer any of my questions!" he snapped. I gulped.

"You've been doing your homework in a rather hasty way too, your corrections are quite a mess as well." he continued, rage boiling. "Not to mention you said history was boring, how ridiculous! One more slip from you and I'll be forced to fail you."

The word "fail" echoed over and over again in my mind. I felt the words consume my thoughts, and with each repeat felt an unbearable amount of stress being dumped on my shoulders. Why me? I silently pondered as I watched the teacher return to the blackboard.

"I...It wasn't her fault!" Lucas blurted out.

My eyes widened. Lucas is going to get himself in trouble. I watched in panic as the teacher turned sharply to project his wrath to him.

"Lucas, don't act as if you are the perfect student too. You think your homework is actually good? You'd be wrong!" he hissed, picking up a book. "What kind of answer is 'wouldn't kill the Covians because… I'm a bad boy??? I dunno teacher you didn't teach us this yet'?!" He read off of his workbook, glaring at it. I was convinced if he kept on staring at it, a hole would eventually appear in his book.

Lucas laughed awkwardly, his gaze shying away.

That damning class was finally over as I went off to find Izzy.

Levi's Pov

Lynn was nowhere to be found, and Emma must have sneaked off to Izzy. I padded

I twisted the doorknob to my dormitory. I frowned and tried again, jiggling it furiously, but the door didn't budge. I groaned, pacing around, wondering what to do, when I was struck with a brilliant scheme.

I skimmed the plaques with the numbers of the dorms on each door, sprinting until I got to…

"706… 707… 708!" I whispered before opening the door slightly ajar.

My hand drifted over to where I suspected the light switch was. I flicked it, and sure enough, the light perched on the ceiling blinked on. It revealed Emma and Izzy, sleeping contentedly together, their limbs interwoven. Their shallow breaths coincided, synchronising into somnolent consonance.

"Wake up, you two!" I whispered-shouted.

They stirred awake, their hair bedraggled and tousled. Izzy let out a drowsy yawn, dragging it longer and longer. Emma interrupted it, saying:

"What do you want, L..levers,"

"My roommate locked me out, so I thought I'd spend the night in your room," I said.

"Of course," Izzy peeped, tucking her head underneath the covers again, pulling Emma down with her. "Goodnight!"

"Hey!" I screeched, kicking off my shoes and clambering onto the mattress, nearly tripping over their legs.

"Your feet are cold," Emma whined, snuggling up against Izzy, seeking warmth.

"Where have you been, anyway?" Izzy asked, her eyebrows raised.

"N-Nothing… I went to the greenhouse to… observe… the plants…" I pretended to look away.

"With a certain someone?" said Emma, a vague smirk on her lips.

"I…" I faked embarassment.

They snorted, but did not press the subject.

I heaved a sigh of relief before I fell into a fitful doze.
