5 Chapter 5: Old Madam Gu

Su Ning did not pay any attention to Mr Song's announcement regarding the talent show. She wasn't that familiar with this body so she wasn't aware if Su Ning had any talents aside from being pretty. Instead, she looked to Li Youqing and Lin Miao and asked them out to drink milk tea.

The group of three happily ordered their drinks and took some photos on their phones. Then they went to buy some snacks and stationary at the store nearby. Su Ning found it quite enjoyable to hangout with these two 12 year old girls. Initially, she thought it maybe awkward but it was easy to talk about topics they find interesting. Recently, Lin Miao has gotten into drawing manhua and wants to be an artist in the future. While Li Youqing wants to be a doctor like her father. After hanging out for a few hours, Su Ning exchanged contacts with Lin Miao and bid goodbye to her two friends.

Su Ning went home with Father Su and chattered away about her day. Father Su felt happy in his heart that his daughter is finally healthy after a long time and nodded along the entire way home. Su Ning was in a really good mood. At dinnertime, Mother Qin reminded Su Ning that they will be visiting the Gu Mansion on the weekend. Noticing Su Ning's reluctance, Mother Qin explained that it is a regular event for the family to visit at least once a month. Old Madam Gu liked Mother Qin as a housekeeper and pseudo caretaker for Gu YuChen. Mother Qin helped nurse Old Madam Gu when she had fallen ill a few years back. So the Old Madam also helped out Mother Qin and Father Su a bit when they were just starting out in A City. Due to this good relationship, the Su family visits the Gu Mansion regularly to pay respects to the Old Madam.

So although Su Ning initially wanted to refuse to go, she knew that she shouldn't be willful and nodded in agreement. 'Ah, I never knew that they had this sort of history with the Gu family.' The Old Madam has been kind to Su Ning's parents and even gifted the original body with a lot of presents. Looks like the original Su Ning didn't pay any attention to the relationships around her and just played. 'Well children tend to be egoistic.' thought Su Ning.

Later that night, Su Ning began to write short handwritten notes for each student in her class. She put each note in a small bag of snacks she bought that afternoon and tied the bag with a yellow ribbon. She plans to distribute the snacks at school tomorrow morning. It was a simple but personal gesture since each note was addressed to each individual student. The note explains that Su Ning was absent a lot previously since she was sick but after receiving the surgery she is now well to attend classes regularly and would like to get to get along with her classmates. After making sure that she made enough for everyone in class, she went to bed with a satisfied smile on her face.
