Chapter 47: JinYan-ge, Don’t be Sick.

Su Ning saw Gu YuChen's text while she was in the car; however, she was so preoccupied about Lin JinYan that she failed to respond. Finally, after a 15 minute car ride Assistant Mu and Su Ning arrived at the Lin Family mansion. At first glance, it was every bit as grandiose as the Gu Family mansion making Su Ning somewhat intimidated. Yet in contrast, to the Gu Family estate which reflected Victorian style architecture, the Lin Family mansion was exemplar of a palatial contemporary residential architecture.

The luxury mansion sat atop a hill and boasts floor to ceiling windows and sliding glass doors that allowed panoramic views of A city. At the main level, Su Ning was able to pass by the living room on her way to Lin JinYan's room and it felt like she was in an art gallery. The living room was an enormous open space with maple flooring, large gray columns, white furniture, and white walls adorned with abstract paintings.

But no matter how beautiful and luxurious the surroundings were, Su Ning still felt that the house was oldly cold. She couldn't feel the warmth of a family at all. 'Get a hold of yourself! You are here to see Lin JinYan! Now is not the time to sightsee!' Su Ning reminded herself as Assistant Mu guided her up the mansion staircase. And as the two made their way atop the stairs, a pair of long legs suddenly came into view.

The eldest son of the Lin Family, Lin Feng was on his way down for dinner when he came across Su Ning. It was the first time the 27 year old heir to XIIN Entertainment had met Su Ning in person although he had long been aware of her activities. He had to admit that Su Ning was indeed an exceptionally beautiful young girl. At only 16 she already had such exquisite looks and talent; she is bound to shine even brighter in the future. Lin Feng would be a fool to let such a treasure become Lin JinYan's support. As such, there is only one conclusion for Su Ning in Lin Feng's mind - become his person or disappear.

"Elder Young Master Lin, good evening," Assistant Mu greeted the handsome bespectacled man politely.

"And this young lady is?" Lin Feng gestured to Su Ning as he spoke.

"This is Miss Su Ning. A good friend of Young Master Lin. This is the Elder Young Master, Lin Feng." (Assistant Mu)

"Hello, Lin Feng-gege. It's nice to meet you," Su Ning greeted with a courteous smile.

"You've come to check on my little brother I see. What a nice friend you are," Lin Feng commented with a gentle smile.

"No, I was just worried about JinYan-ge's condition. I heard he was sick." Su Ning felt slightly abashed by his praise. 'This man looks about 7 points like Lin JinYan but the aura is completely different. He seems affable but somehow I feel uneasy around him.' she thought.

"Mm. My little brother is lucky to have you as his friend then. Do come have dinner after your visit." (Lin Feng)

"Umm...alright. Thank you for inviting me," Su Ning answered reluctantly.

"Go on then.." (Lin Feng)

"Thank you Elder Young Master. Miss Su please follow me." (Assistant Mu)

Lin JinYan's room was located near the end of the hallway. The door was locked and the inside of the room was eerily quiet which made Su Ning more concerned. Assistant Mu repeatedly knocked on the door and called out to Lin JinYan but there was no answer. Finally, as Assistant Mu was about to call one of the maids for the key, a loud crash can be heard from the room. Followed by an angry shout, "Get out! I already said I don't want to speak to anyone!"

"Young, Young Master Lin! This is Assistant Mu. I've brought Miss Su."

After a few moments of silence a tentative voice was audible through the door, "Su Ning?"

"Don't lie! There's no way she would come."

Assistant Mu gave Su Ning a pleading glance and the girl quietly made her way to the door, "JinYan-ge it's me. Can you open the door? I just want to check on you."

"Su Ning? Is it really you?" (Lin JinYan)

"Mm, I heard you were sick. So I came." (Su Ning)

"Su Ning, I thought you've abandoned me," Lin JinYan sobbed.

There was a slight creaking noise as the door opened slightly showing Lin JinYan's beautiful but pale and tired face. Su Ning shook her head and went inside Lin JinYan's room, silently shutting the door behind her. The bedroom was in disarray, there were pillows, broken glass and music sheets strewn all over the floor and the bed was a mess. After taking a quick look of her surroundings, Su Ning brought her attention to the young man standing in front of her with dazed eyes. When she looked down, she was aghast to notice that Lin JinYan's hands were bleeding.

"JinYan-ge, my god! Hurry and take a seat! You're hurt!" Su Ning exclaimed as she ran to the bathroom to look for a first aid kid. With the necessary items in hand, she knelt in front of a silent Lin JinYan to clean and bandage his wound. And for several minutes neither spoke.

"JinYan-ge, what happened?" Su Ning asked and leaned forward to place her hand on the young man's forehead. "You have a fever. Have you eaten dinner?"

Lin JinYan shook his head.

"You need to eat dinner to take your medicine," Su Ning prodded. She tried to stand up and call for Assistant Mu when a hand grabbed her wrist.

"Are you leaving me?" the dazed look in Lin JinYan's eyes was replaced with one of desperation.

"No..I just want to call Assistant Mu to bring you dinner" she winced and tried to explain but Lin JInYan wouldn't loosen his grip on her hand.

To be honest, Su Ning was saddened to see her friend in this state. Since she had already decided to make up with Lin JinYan earlier, it was easy for her to push aside her initial thoughts of disappointment about his previous behaviours and just focus on his current condition.

"JinYan-ge, you need to take some fever medicine and antibiotics in case your cut gets infected." (Su Ning)

"You were mad at me," Lin JinYan suddenly spoke with a somber voice.

"..." (Su Ning)

"You wouldn't speak to me for a week." (Lin JinYan)

"..." (Su Ning)

"I thought you've abandoned me. (Lin JinYan)

"..." (Su Ning)

"NingNing please don't leave me. Without you. I can't.. I can't" Lin JinYan begged, his voice hoarse.

Su Ning had not been impervious to Lin JinYan's pleading and she felt a knot in her throat, "Shhh shhh It's okay. It's alright. I'm here. I won't leave."

"I'm sorry. I won't do anything you don't like just dont leave." Lin JinYan continued, delirious from the fever.

Su Ning began to feel her eyes dampen as she held Lin JinYan hoping her embrace would calm him down. "Shhh Shhh" she cooed until Lin JinYan quieted down.

"I won't leave. I won't leave. So, JinYan-ge, don't be sick."
