Chapter 35: Fly First Class

The day before her birthday, Lin JinYan, Gu YuChen and Su Ning took a flight to H City where Lin JinYan's villa was located. Su Ning had initially intended to take the bullet train with her friends Li Youqing and Lin Miao and spend the 4 hour train ride chatting and snacking with her friends. However, both boys were vehemently against this and insisted she take the 45 minute flight with them instead. Eventually, the matter was settled with Gu YuChen paying for first class bullet train seats for Lin Youqing and Lin Miao which the two girls abashedly and excitedly accepted. The two heartless friends of hers didn't even look disappointed that Su Ning will not be joining them.

Meanwhile, Lin JinYan booked first class plane tickets for him and Su Ning. Lin JinYan let Gu YuChen pay for his own flight ticket on the pretext that the latter had plenty enough money at his disposal. When they had gotten ready to board the flight, Su Ning could already feel another headache coming. Incidentally, the first class seats on this plane had a 1-2-1 configuration so two people would be seated together while the other would have to sit separately. Lin JinYan and Gu YuChen were having a stare off regarding who would sit beside her on the flight. Su Ning couldn't understand why they couldn't just follow the seating arrangement printed on the flight tickets. This time, the matter was settled with a game of roshambo with Gu YuChen winning the seat next to Su Ning.

It was Su Ning's first time riding first class and internally she was quite excited. In her past life, she had once taken a flight to G City for work purposes. Even though her company only provided her economy class seating, she remembered being quite happy for the chance to travel to visit another city. The difference between first class and economy was enormous; her seat can be fully reclined to a bed and she was even provided with soft fluffy slippers and noise canceling headphones. As soon as Su Ning was seated, she was greeted by an attractive air stewardess and served a glass of orange juice. She could scarcely believe the service just for a 45 minute flight. She now lamented why the flight duration couldn't be a bit longer.

After Su Ning was seated comfortably, she turned to her seatmate with a cheeky smile, "YuChen-gege, I think I quite like traveling with you guys."

Gu YuChen's normal poker face broke into a small smile as he patted Su Ning's hair, "I will take you traveling from now on."

Su Ning only smiled in response; she knew she only had a few years left together with these boys. In fact, Gu YuChen will be studying abroad next year and Lin JinYan the year after. Her heart was saddened by the thought but this was reality and she wouldn't be greedy. So, Su Ning decided to just enjoy this luxury with them now and not wish for more.

As her habit, whenever she went out with these two, Su Ning turned to check on Lin JinYan before settling down to watch a movie. Noting the latter's mood was a bit down, she made sure to turn to Gu YuChen and spoke in a volume loud enough for Lin JinYan to hear.

"YuChen-gege, on the return trip I want to sit beside JinYan-gege."

Gu YuChen frowned slightly at Su Nings request but eventually nodded in acceptance when faced with her sweet smile. Su Ning didn't even have to turn around to know that the other boy had already been pacified. But she still turned around to give Lin JinYan a winsome smile and the latter responded with a small laugh.

'Aii, these two are still kids.' she thought as she reverted her focus on her movie, Gajira vs Kong.
