Alessio's P.O.V

I felt bad that I kept bothering Viktoriya about who she's been with and what she's been up to but I couldn't explain to her why I was doing so.

I promised myself I'd keep her out of this world. Out of the gang violence and drug trafficking. Out of the shooting.

There's something fishy about this place and I need to find out what it is. I have connections here and I've been using them to figure out why Melanie was shot that night. I can't help but be paranoid. We weren't even here for 48 hours and someone I'm with gets shot?

That can't be a coincidence. What if Melanie wasn't the intended target. I don't think she was. I've been getting weird messages, seeing weird things on this campus. Someone knows who I am and knows I'm here. Someone who's out for blood. Only I don't think it's mine.

The more I piece together the small things I've seen the more I've come to realize that Vikky was the intended target that night and her association with me is why.
