Chapter Fifty One - CEO

Hailey's POV

"Hi" I greeted the board member next to me smiling that he's the one next to me. "I was so nervous when I first saw you all at the meeting that I didn't quite get your name" I said to him.

"Oh so you want my name" he chuckles, thoughtfully.

Nodding, with confidence.

"It's Allan, Allan Su.. uh Smith" he introduces himself to me.

Happy that I now know him, "so I can call you Uncle Allan or Mr. Smith" I asked looking at his features closely. He reminds me of someone, I just can't remember who.

Frowning, "you look and sound so familiar, but I just can't place you" I told him honestly with a sad smile.

Observing me, a nervous expression on his face, "you okay Mr Smith? "

"Uncle Allan is fine" he said. "There was a time when you used to call me Ayen" he said

Surprised, "so you knew me as a child?" I asked unable to believe it. Someone who also knew me as child but won't tell me about myself. Why are all these people who knows me sworn to secrecy

Two waitresses approach our table and started taking our order and drinks.

Adian and I barely spoke during lunch and maybe it's my fault for focusing on uncle Alan as I was trying to get information from him about me.

I felt Basil's eyes on me the entire time but I would just look at him and smile because he's so far away.

Uncle Alan isn't giving anything away, other than, what he already said to me so far.

When we were about to leave the restaurant after a three course lunch that was way too much for me, and Basil was to far away from me to sneak him extras.

Standing up, uncle Alan touched my hand, "don't forget, talk to Adian, let him help you find your way back to everyone who loves you" he said, kissing me on the cheek, walking to slap Ryan on the back as they started chatting.

"I stood beside Basil as we awaited Adian who was engrossed in a conversation with my new uncle Alan and his father.

Adian came to meet us with a tired look in his eyes and I know it's not alcohol because he didn't drink much.

" You good man?" Basil always the first to observed if something is different with Adian.

Observing his tired look, "would you like me to get a ride back with someone else and Basil can take you home?" I asked.

"No, I'm good" he told me. "We will go back to the office because I have a lot to catch up on." Adian says as we walk out front to await the vehicle.

On the drive back, Adian got a call which had him occupied until we got to the office.

Adian escorted me to my office while Basil went on a personal errand. He's suppose to pick Adana up from school before returning for us.

While we were on lunch, Adian had Jerry leave documents that they are working on and now I have been brought in the mix to assist. it's all part of training before I'm given projects to handle on my own.

Adian is definitely a hard worker by the pace he has been going since we return to the office. His PA met us there and they occupied my desk, while I was working out a proposal for a potential client. I know it's a test because I got Fantasy Shipping using Adian's proposal.

I realize that Adian didn't want to leave me in my office alone because of Clyde and Ms. Stewart, so I didn't bring up the topic with him.

By the time Basil returned with Adana, my back and neck was aching and I still have a dinner to prepare at home, Adian's home for Adian.

"Hailey" Adana came to sit beside me, looking around, "so this is your office?" she muses. "We can do so much here, let's go shopping and I come help you decorate" Adana suggests excitedly.

Without looking up, "Hailey won't be in this office for long so you skip the shopping and decorating" Adian informs us with his head still buried in his paperwork.

Adana, definitely not accustom with Adian not agreeing with her, " don't you have a office somewhere in this building? Why are you taking over Hailey's office? " Adana told Adian.

In the process of signing a document, Adian lifted his eyebrows at me, then to Adana.

"Adana I have no problem, please let's not make an issue out of it" I tell her because I don't want her provoking Adian.

Shaking his head at me with a smirk, "for your information little Ms. Knights, I own this office. I own this building" he puts his pen down clasping his hands in front of him in the desk.

"And another thing, you don't get to waltz into any of my offices and speak to me as you please, after all I'm the new CEO of Sullaknights" Adian tells her as she looks at him with surprise smile.

Standing up, "really!" she asks, looking at me with wide surprise eyes.

Nodding "yes, really" I told her softy.

She ran around the desk. as Adian spins in the chair to catch her, as she threw herself into his arms happily.

Hugging him tightly, "congratulations AD, you're the best. I love you!" she tells him.

Leaving Adian's side, "so you're the boss's wife? That's so cool" she gushes, as we all erupted in laughter.

I didn't give it any thought earlier, being Adian's wife gives me a title I'm not ready for.

"We can definitely go shopping now! Right AD?" she asks, looking back at him.

Adian eyes met mines for a moment, "Hailey's making dinner tonight so Basil can take you guys shopping, I'll get a ride back" Adian says

I glared at him, because I didn't want him remaining among these workers on the floor.

Sensing that in upset, "change of plans, Basil and I will wait in the car while you guys shop" Adian suggests,

"Before I could answer, " Yep, that works " Adana agrees and I'm happy he isn't staying back.
