13 Only for you Liza.

"Never felt like this,

Until I kissed you,

How did I exist,

Until I kissed you"

"I feel like you know so much more I about me than I know about you." She takes an elegant sip of her wine.

"What do you want to know?"

"Mmm" she hums in thought, "Family?"

"My parents died when I was 16 and it was just me and my big sister Madeline." I say nonchalantly.

Her face is washed over with regret, "I'm so sorry."

I shrug "It's okay. I'm just thankful Madeline was there with me."

She smiles sadly, lowers her head and sighs, "Must be nice to have someone there for you" she mumbles.

I furrow my eyebrows. Why does my story seem so personal to her?

She looks back up at me and her eyes look glassy, "Are you okay?" I ask.

"Yeah I am." She nods and smiles.

No she's not. Shit. I need to change the subject, "Well you know about my past relationships, or relationship. I don't know anything about yours."

She clears her throat, "I'll be honest with you." She looks into my eyes "There was this guy, but I never really wanted to be with him, I was kind of forced in a way. And he proposed to me, but I ran out on him because of a family emergency. And I don't think we officially broke up but I never wanted to be with him I swear! I don't even have feelings for him, I promise you. I want to try things out with-" she interrupts herself with a frustrated sigh "I can't believe I just told you that on the second date." She looks down and puts her face in her hands "I totally understand if you want to leave."

I freeze and look at her, amused, for a moment before bursting out laughing.

She looks up at me and furrows her eyebrows.

"Damn Liza, when you said baggage you weren't joking." I laugh.

She gives me a stern look and I stop laughing and clear my throat, "Liza, you said you never wanted to be with him, correct?"

Her features soften and she nods.

"And you don't have any feelings for him, even now, correct?"

She nods again.

I put my hand over hers on the table "Then what's the issue?"

"I don't really know if we're through."

"Well, in my eyes you are because If you never wanted to be with him and you don't love him, then you were never really together. As simple as that."

She lets out a sigh in relief.

"Did you really think I was just gonna get up and leave because of that?"

"Yeah, I thought i scared you off." she frowns.

"Well you didn't." I smile, "And plus, if he actually had feelings for you wouldn't he be here right now, and not me?"

She tilts her head "You're right, he didn't even follow me or contact me the day I left him in the middle of his proposal."

I sit back in my chair "Well, there you go."

She smiles softly, "Thank you for not overreacting Mark, you're a really nice guy."

"Only for you Liza" I reciprocate her smile.

Her face falters but she quickly covers it up with another smile.

It seems like she reacts like this every time I say her name- it's probably nothing though.

"Can we get out of here?"

"Why, don't you like the restaurant?" I ask, slightly panicked.

"No, I love it. I'm just craving a hamburger and milkshake." She looks own at her plate "Not this fancy shit."

I chuckle "Let's get out of here then."

She smiles widely and I call for the bill.

I pay for our food and we head out of the restaurant and drive to a nearby diner.

I assist her out of the car and into the diner.

"This place is so cute." She squeals and tightens her grip on my hand.

I chuckle at her antics, "Haven't you been here before?"

"I haven't seen a lot of the town yet."

I furrow my eyebrows and open my mouth to ask her how long she's been here for, but I'm interrupted by her saying "Let's get a booth over there."

We sit down and a waitress approaches us.

She's wearing a very short and tight khaki uniform, with the first couple buttons open, exposing her cleavage. Obviously trying to come on to me.

She gives me seductive look which I ignore and turn to Liza who's glaring at the waitress.

"What can I get for you?" the waitress asks me, leaning in so her breasts are right beside my face. I keep my eyes fixed on Liza, who's still glaring at her.

"I can get you anything you want." She whispers.

"Excuse me?" Liza says getting up.

The waitress straightens up and looks at Liza, giving her a salty look.

"What do you think you're doing?" Liza snaps with her arms crossed.

"Can I help you darling?" the waitress asks mockingly.

Liza scoffs "Yes you can. By getting your tits out of my man's face."

Her man? That has a nice ring to it.

"Baby, I don't think you know who you're talking to-"

"I know exactly who I'm talking to. I'm talking to a desperate waitress who thinks this diner is a brothel."

"You better shut that mouth of yours or-"

"Or what?" Liza laughs before narrows her eyes to read the girls name tag "Now Jessica, you are going to go back and get us a new waiter or do your fucking job right before I get your ass fired for bad customer service."

"You couldn't-"

"I could," She takes a step closer to Jessica "You don't wanna know the shit I'm capable of so I suggest you do what I say," She takes her hand and brushes Jessica's shoulder with a smile "Darling." She concludes.

"I'll go get you a new waiter." Jessica says before running towards the kitchen.

Liza chuckles and takes her seat in front of me "Gosh I'm starving." She says unfazed.

I'm left, eyes wide open and jaw to the ground. Completely awe struck.

"That was hot." I say earning a smirk from her.

She winks at me and looks back at the menu.

"Could you actually get her fired?"

"You'd be surprised what a small investment in a place like this could do."

An investment? How much money does she have to pull off something like that?

With a shake of the head, i remove those questions from my head.

"I had a great time tonight." We're standing outside her apartment, saying our goodbye's.

"So did I." I smile.

We stay for a couple moments staring into each other's eyes.

"Um, I should probably get-" I cut her off by cupping her cheek and connecting our lips softly.

She feels and tastes just as I'd expected but ten times better. Her lips are soft as pillows and they taste as sweet as candy.

She recovers from the shock and brings her arms to circle my neck, deepening the kiss.

I move my other hand to her waist and pull her in closer to me. Our lips continue to move against each other's simultaneously with passion and lust. I've felt the lust part before, in fact its the foundation of which every kiss I've had has been built on. But the passion part? No, that's new to me.

I want this to go far. I want us to do more, but I also know that I want to take things slow. I don't want to screw up and end up losing her, so I reluctantly break the kiss.

We move away from each other and look at each other. Her face is red and her lips are swollen. She tries to bite back a smile by pursing her lips together.

She pulls me in again, hugging me, "Thank you for tonight," she plants a kiss on my cheek "goodnight Mark." She whispers before letting go of me and entering her apartment.

The moment the door closes, I take in a deep breath.

Elizabeth makes me feel ways no one has before and I love it.

My heart is beating irregularly and I can't wipe this stupid smile off my face. This is probably the best feeling I've felt in a long time.

I walk away from the door and make my way downstairs when I receive a message from Buddy. It's Alice's number plate.

"Finally," I whisper then put my phone in my pocket.

I look up to my left to see Liza's car parked on the side of the road.

My jaw falls to the ground and my heart sinks when everything starts to make sense.

On the side of the road, Elizabeth James' black Porsche is parked with Alice McAllen's number plate. In other words: On the side of the road, Alice McAllen's black Porsche is parked.
