2 That Boy

He's my neighbor, but we never talk besides hi and bye. My parents always told me to bring food over to his house and his parents are always so welcoming. From my perspective, every time when I see him , he's very quiet. I would always sit by my window at night and would stare outside. He would always do homework every time and I would just look at him do it.

Math class ended. Me and my friend Jill went to get lunch. While waiting on line, I saw him again. Yes, him, my neighbor. He was surrounded by other girls, but he doesn't seem to be bother by them. He was wearing a pair of shorts and a black hoodie with the word stop on it. He just kept talking to his friends and while the girls are standing next to him. I've never seen this side of him before. I thought he was a quiet boy that likes to distance himself from everyone. I guess I was wrong.

"Lil", said Jill. I looked up and realized that I was staring at him the whole time. She asked what I was looking at. I shook my head and we got our lunch. We sat down and started to eat. Jill started the conversation after five minutes of silence. "Are you okay?" I was surprised to hear that. I looked at her, "why? Do I look like I'm not okay?" Even though I know I could trust Jill, I couldn't digest in about what just happened yesterday. Before she could respond, there was a fire inside the kitchen. The fire alarmed went on.

Everyone started to panic and started running out the door. I just stood there and spaced out. My memory flashed back and forth. My ears start ringing and I couldn't see Jill anywhere. My leg got weaker that I gave up. I blacked out and the next thing I knew was my parents beside me. I looked up and ask where I was. They told me that I'm at the hospital, and I ask where my brother James. They look at each other and said they couldn't save my brother. I look at them in disbelief. I remember that we were in the my brother's lab class, but suddenly there was an explosion. I didn't know where it came from, but smoke arise. Me and James we're running out, but we were on the tenth floor. While trying to walk down the stairs, we heard someone screaming on the floor above us. My brother told me to go down first while he ran back up. After a few second, there was another explosion and that's when I fainted.

suddenly I heard a voice calling my name . "Lilian! Lilian!", I started to gain my conscious back and saw Jill . She told me that I blacked out at the cafeteria and told me that a guy bought me to the school nurse. I slowly got up and asked what happen. The nurse came back and checked on me. She told me to get some rest and would write me a note to excuse for my next class. Jill went back to class and I just sit on the bed looking out the window. I try to recall back what happened. After that accident that happened five years ago, I couldn't get over the fact that my brother died.

I told the nurse that I was fine and that I could go back to class. On the way out, I asked her who bought me here. She said it was a guy that was wearing a "stop" black hoodie.
