17 Home, My Own Home

"Dawa, won't you come home? It's now time to go to school, just few days left!" My mom phoned me early that morning.

"I will. Probably by Saturday. "I responded. I was still deeply affected by the incident that I never imagined for. Love is such that even takes someone's dear precious life without mercy. The game itself looked challenging, though.

"OK. Come faster so that it won't hinder your assignment. You have that assignment to be done, mey na?" She alarmed me about my project. I have forgotten about my stuffy project for this circumstances.

"Yeah. Thank you mom for reminding me. You're the guiding star for me mom!" I became emotional. When we have an intimate rapport, it's automatically done. Uncsciously, too.

"No need to thank chechey." She pampered me and I think it's because of this kind love I am unable to experience and explore the unprecedented hardships of life that lay unattended but I do love this.

"I love you mom!" I kissed the phone and hung up.

It has been almost two weeks in Thimphu. But , I felt quite alone as well as hurt since it has been few days I haven't contacted Lhasang. This feared me. I haven't proposed her yet!

I threw the blanket in the air and leaped from the blanket. I folded them neatly and as usual went for shower. It was by then almost 9: 30 a.m. Sister gave me a cup of coffee and a container of zaw, a corn product. I sipped it mindfully realising each and every taste. It's what the counselling classes are all about.

I refreshed myself by watching the river flow smoothly through the banks. Those sounds of smoothness flowing of river, Cranes swimming and rhythmically fading away the bank by waves, temporarily gave me soothing sensation. The swams, paired, playing with each other reminded me about the first official date between us.

I then walked snail-like and reposed.

"Dawa? Wake up. It's time for you to leave!" I heard my sister yelling from the kitchen while I was still busy with sleeping. I was too sleepy that I didn't bother to heed.

"Dawa? It's getting late! You cannot catch the bus!" She again yelled but it didn't matter significantly. I was in love with sleeping.

"It's only 4:30 a.m. I still have an hour to go!" I shouted back, looking at the wall clock with my drowsy eyes. It was something like a silhouette but blur is more appropriate.

"Datara! How come 4.30? It's already 5.30 now!" I heard her growled that made me to wake up hastily. I rubbed my eyes and looked the watch more clearly. Oh God! It was 5.40 now. What a fuck of me to sleep too much. I should have better taken cups of coffee the day before , so that I won't land up sleeping like a lazy pig.

I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower and got myself dressed in my favourite attires: jeans pant, black leather jacket, a Bob Morley cap which is ornamented with three Mary Jane leaves colored in three distinct colours, perfumed with civet and applied face cream. My hairstyle like a rock star or a Korean hero.

I hurried to the sitting room and sister served me fast food noodles mingled with eggs. Wow! The smell itself is watering. I took it hot. Sister looked at me and smiled. "Do you want more?"

"No! It's enough to reach home." I replied smiling. I felt quite awkward for my stupidity. It looked like I have inhaled it like a python.

It was 7.00.

"This for you. Take lunch on the way!" In-law handed me Nu.2000.

"Thank you!" I replied sheepishly.

I bade good-bye to my sister and my lovely darling, niece Pema Lhazin.

We were at the Thimphu Bus Stop at Changzamtog.

"Go safely and call us when you reach home." He hugged and patted on my shoulder.

"OK In-law." I replied and got into the bus.

The bus accelerated. We bade good-bye.
