42 Chapter 42: The Engagement VI

.....

Banquet Room.

After the completion of the ring ceremony and attending to the swarm of guests that came to congratulate them, Soo Min and Ryan along with many others walked into the banquet room, upon being notified that dinner was ready to be served by the hotel staff.

Each banquet table was elegantly and exquisitely decorated, whilst having a uniform color scheme throughout to complement the theme of the engagement.

All the guests sat at the table with their name plates, which was strategically planned to accommodate family members and mutual friends, by Mother Song herself.

Soo Min and Ryan sat along with other family members, including their parents and Ryan's aunt and uncle.

Almost immediately, numerous servants stepped out and placed several dishes on not just the couple's table but on all the guests' table, completely in sync.

"Please." Father Park gestured for everyone at the table to help themselves.

'Don't need to remind me twice!' Soo Min inwardly grinned before picking out a few dishes and serving it on to her plate.

Of course she was starving! After all, being busy the entire day, she hadn't had a chance to have lunch.

Mother Song and Father Park casually chatted with Uncle Mike and Aunt Ellie, whilst Ryan did add to the conversion at times, but Soo Min stayed relatively quiet.

Soo Min glanced at her a specific dish all the way on the other side of the table. She had been eyeing on it for quite some time now, as it was one of her favorites.

Stuffed Mushrooms! But she didn't know how to get to it without garnering too much attention or having the need to awkwardly stand up to get to it.

When she glanced at the plate the second time, her eyes widened when she say only one stuffed mushroom left on the plate, but before she could even react... Uncle Mike had already taken the last one.

Disappointed, she sighed and stared down at her plate, blankly. But what happened next completely shocked her — actually it was more of a pleasant surprise.

She saw someone place two stuffed mushrooms on her plate, and her gaze swept passed the person's hand only to land on Ryan's face.

'Enjoy.' He mouthed before shaking his head with a soft smile at her cute antics.

After all, he had never come across someone who would get so depressed over something as small as food.

From his point of view, she looked like a little kid who got her candy stolen from her.

Soo Min looked at him and tilted her head in confusion. 'Is he mocking me right now? Whatever. I'll let him have his moment. After all, he gave me something even better.' Before she excitedly turned to the food in front of her and started to eat.

Aunt Ellie who witnessed this moment smiled and said, "Aww. Soo Min, your so lucky to have someone like Ryan. I'm sure he's going to be a very doting husband in the future!"

Soo Min, who was just about to put the stuffed mushroom in her mouth abruptly stopped at Aunt Ellie's comment and glanced at Ryan from the corner of her eyes.

Ryan, who too was taken aback by his Aunt's sudden words, gave an abrupt cough to clear the awkward air.

"Wife. What are you saying? Aren't you lucky to have me in your life?" Uncle Mike pouted.

Aunt Ellie playfully slapped her husband's shoulder and said, "Oh just be quiet, Michael. But seriously, I can't wait for you to be married. Then, the two of you can have adorable kids—and ahhh I'm just excited thinking about it. A little Soo Min or little Ryan! How cute would that be?"

Soo Min who was still in the same position as before tried to stay indifferent, but no matter how much she tried to hide it, the pink hue on her face gave it all away.
