A Shocker

"A little and mix it in slow motion" she instructed Clarie, who is preparing the batter for raspberry cookies.

Enjoying the fresh aroma of citrus oils in her hand, Amelia added the olives to the bowl to make the perfect sausages.

Owning a patisserie has been her dream ever since her mother has presented her with the first easy bake oven on her sixth birthday,.

Since its foundation, 'Gossips and Giggles' the name she has chosen after going through brainstorming ideas, it has expanded from a small bakery store to a patisserie and now has been a café operating with a workforce of 17 employees, offering services all over the beautiful landscape of Durango, the small town to the southwestern part of Colorado.

The beautiful mountainous landscape is scenic in every way and owing to its great history, the place has always been the center of attraction for tourists.

Amelia has succeeded in making her dream come true, right from the café's ambiance surrounded by the beautiful landscape of snowy mountains to the architecture, she put her heart and soul to make everything unique.

Segregating the price charts from affordable to luxury, her café has been satisfying everyone right from teens to the elderly who come over to enjoy her special dishes and to speak their hearts out.

The special recipes Amelia Di Ricca, has imparted from her Granny are safe in her memory and the magic in her hands was enough to pull customers. With a turnover in lakhs, Amelia has been pretty much satisfied with her simple yet exciting life.

"The biggest disadvantage of living in mountainous areas is the network issues," sighed Clarie, setting the temperature of the oven for the cookies to bake.

"Missing your Mr.Grumpy?" Amelia chuckled addressing Clarie's longtime boyfriend.

"Stop calling him that Amy, Jenah is not grumpy" Clarie defended her boyfriend.

"As you say" Amelia rolled her eyes.

"Seriously Amy, there is nothing wrong with being serious; he is just like that" brewing the coffee seeds, Clarie added.

"Well, I can't even stand them. When we have been gifted with this beautiful life to live enjoying every minute of it, I don't understand why people choose to sulk pulling a serious face. Ego, pride, and shit is something I can't stand" Amelia chided.

"So is that the reason Amelia stays away from dating?" Clarie upped her perfectly shaped brow.

"Noo... there exists happy go lucky type men, it's just I didn't feel anything with any of them"

"Hmmm… there's a saying that opposites attract Amy, what if you fall for someone whose every inch is filled with arrogance, one who is possessive and ruthless" Clarie teased.

"Not even in my wildest of dreams. If I get to meet such an arrogant jerk, I won't even try to waste a second of my life with him," Amelia asserted.

"There's an order for the classic grilled toast add on is maple syrup and peach" Gio, the waiter added.

"In five" Amelia flashed a smile, preserving the sausages to marinate.

"I have gone through the astrology column and it says Taurus is going to stumble upon their soulmate soon" Clarie added whipping the cream.

"I can never understand your excitement to push me into hell" Amelia rolled her eyes tossing the toast.

"The thing you call hell is Love Amy and once you stumble on your Mr.Right, you will understand what I am speaking about" Clarie nudged her.

"Not interested in any Mr.right, I prefer being wrong" Amelia winked adding maple syrup.

"Why do I feel you will change statements soon?"

"Then I must say you are daydreaming" chuckling at her longtime friend, Amelia called out for Gio.

Owing to the morning hours, her café has been crowded like any other day and the three chefs other than Clarie and her, have been busy preparing the orders.

"Amelia, there's someone on the table Ferrero and he wants to meet you" Gio who walked inside the Kitchen to collect the order informed Amelia.

Rather than numbering her tables, Amelia has given them names of delicacies she loves and that idea has clicked well with the customers.

"Wants to meet me? For what?"

"Maybe to praise you personally, just like any other who has tasted your food" muttered Clarie.

"But we haven't served anything to table Ferrero until now" Amelia spoke the fact.

"Then why don't you just go and meet him? He will brief you right?" shrugged Clarie casually.

Unpinning her apron, Amelia cleaned her hands walking out of the kitchen, and walked straight to the man dressed in a burgundy suit.

"Morning Sir" Amelia flashed a smile, as he looked up from his mobile.

He nodded at her, already making an impression of arrogance in him.

"Coffee, cookie or cakes, what would you like to have?" scrutinizing the man from top to bottom, Amelia deduced that she has never seen him in her café and the usual politeness along with the intention to grab the attention of new customers made Amelia speak extra sweet.

"Your Cafe" Amelia can't help but notice how powerful his voice sounded as he muttered barely two words.

"Good one, I like your sense of humor" Amelia forced a smile.

"There is no joke in it Miss Amelia Di Ricca, I am here to buy this place" and just like that his words made her drop her jaw to the floor.

Customers busily having their gossips along with giggles and wiggles put a stop to their activities and concentrated on what has been taking place.

A few of them concentrated more on the man resembling someone they have had an idea of.

He swiftly pulled out his checkbook and duly signed it.

"Here quote as much as you want" he fisted the blank cheque inside her palm.

Amelia who was shocked to the core, with what all she has just heard came back to her senses with the brush of his fingers against her palm.

"Excuse me Mister" her snap of fingers made him look up.

"Do you want something else, Miss?"

"Ohh yess, why don't you shove it into your ass along with your extruding ego?" words blazed out of Amelia's mouth like spitfire.
