Image at stake

Outside Dream Axis, Kim Chae-Yeon stepped out of the black car she came in and walked straight into the building.

Recognizing who she was, the receptionists quickly granted her access to the elevator which she took to the 26th floor.

Being the mother of the President came with numerous benefits of which one of them included coming into the company at will and having access to different floors owned by Dream Axis.

Stepping out of the elevator, Kim Chae-Yeon almost collided with her son's assistant who was holding tightly unto a meeting tab.

"Mrs. Kim?" Ms. Helen greeted with a smile.

"Helen." Looking past her shoulder for a brief moment, she returned her gaze to her. "Is Deok-Hwa in?"

"Sorry Ma'am, the vice-President has left for the meeting President Kim scheduled." Ms. Helen quickly apologized.

'Oh! He has really left.'

"I heard. Did something happen?" Kim Chae-Yeon inquired while giving her the questioning brow.

She figured she could get some answers from the person that closely worked with her son since Jang Deok-Hwa knew nothing about the reason the emergency meeting was set up in the first place.

Instantly, a bit of colour drained from Ms. Helen's face. Biting her lips, she faked a smile.

When Kim Ji-hun had first given her the order to arrange the emergency meeting, she hadn't known the reason, but having her ways, she found out it was all because they just lost J-Group's project bid to RX.

The matter alone was more than enough reason for an emergency meeting to be held given how much interest Kim Ji-hun had placed on it.

"I'm coming with you." Kim Chae-Yeon said as her gaze turned serious.

Ms. Helen was about to tell her that it wasn't appropriate for her to step into the meeting room, but she had already opened the elevator doors and got into it.

Sighing to herself, she could only walk in after her while clutching the tab closely to her chest.

Stepping into the meeting room with her bag in hand, Oh Ji-Soo demanded an explanation while glaring at the man beholding a surprised look on his face.

'Did she just call me by my name?'

Kim Ji-hun seemed to be in disbelief as his surprised gaze followed the angry woman till she stopped a few steps away from him.

It was not just Kim Ji-hun that was shocked, the men and women in the room were equally shocked and couldn't even hide that fact from showing on their faces.

Since the time they stepped into Dream Axis to start work after receiving their employment letters, a scene like this has never been created before.

It felt like a scene from a movie was playing out in front of them, and the consequences of the aftermath would be so traumatizing.

"Have you lost your manners?" Kim Ji-hun asked after getting over the shock by her manner of speech.

Scoffing, Oh Ji-Soo fired back. "I think you are the one who has lost your manners by insulting me repeatedly even doing so much behind my back."

"What! Oh Ji-Soo, are you tired of your job?" Kim Ji-hun pointed his finger at her with one hand on his waist while glaring daggers at her.

He was threatening to fire her on the spot if she continued to act that way.

Given his short temper, it was understandable that he could no longer swallow her insults in front of his staff.

What will the others think of him if he did not uphold his reputation?

Surely, they would all see him as one whom they could easily step on.

Right now, his pride was hurt and his image was at stake. He has got to deal with the situation ASAP!

On the other hand, the departmental heads, including vice-president Jang could not hide the shocks on their faces.

When did Oh Ji-Soo develop the guts to talk back to Kim Ji-hun in such a disrespectful way?

Has the bullying entered her head this much for her to retaliate like that?

"Director Oh is going too far." One of them mumbled to himself as his gaze continued to trail the main leads.

"Of course, I am tired of the job that gave you the opportunity to traumatize my mental state!"

Pointing a finger at him, she continued to dish out insults word for word without caring how much his face darkened.

"What's the use of having handsome looks, good height, and lots of money in your bank account when your character itself is trash?

Kim Ji-hun you are just an arrogant and unreasonable narcissist who has a piece of rock in place of a heart in his chest."

"Director Oh!" Director Baek called out as he tried to stop Oh Ji-Soo from taking the last step past the threshold, but instead, he got scolded.

"You better stay out of this fight!" Oh Ji-Soo warned as she turned her attention to him.

She was ready to have a go at it with anyone that dared to try and stop her today.

Hearing her warning, everyone who had the intention of trying to calm her down, all turned their faces away while crying in their head.

'I didn't see this day coming.'

'I should have checked the zodiac sign before stepping out of the house today?'

'President Kim will never let us go after witnessing this scene.'

'In the end, we are all going to get in trouble.'

Outside, Kim Chae-Yon and Ms. Helen who had stopped in their steps close to the meeting room heard Kim Ji-hun getting scolded, and exchanged shocked glances.

Was a scene like this truly playing out?

'Director Oh is finally showing her prowess.' Ms. Helen thought to herself.

The woman was aware of how many times Oh Ji-Soo had been scolded and ordered around by their company's president.

Most times, she pitied her and she could not do anything about it. But seeing what was going on, she couldn't help being surprised that a day like this would come.
