Chapter 3: Freyre

I worked well into the night, I caught up on the finances of the club, we are doing way better than I ever thought we would be doing, I checked the inventory and ordered what we needed and what we didn't have. I checked the emails and answered them from companies that wanted me to stock their products. Rhys came to check on me twice as I worked. I eventually told him what happened at school with Artemis, and what she said and why everyone was being so nice to me. He was right. He always warned me I shouldn't let the students know I owned the club, because they would use me way worse than how they would be when they found out my brother owned the club. But it's only been a day, we shall see how it goes next week.

All through the night I could not stop thinking about Bellamy. I should be scared. He is a Vampire and I am the last of my kind. Plus, as far as I am aware, he still thinks I am human, or worse now, he might think I am a wolf. As Vampires and Wolves are natural enemies, even though there are some who believe they don't need to be and want to get along since we all need to hide our identities from the humans. By working together instead of fighting, they would be able to hide our identities much easier. I will just have to wait and see which side Bellamy is on. So far, I believe he is on the side of working together, but I also need to tell him that I am not a wolf. I need to tell him the truth, but how do I do that and still hide who I am. Rhys will kill me, if I show who I really am.

I left the bar, in the early morning, the sun was starting to rise and the last of the patrons were leaving from partying all night. We are the only club open all night because of the special circumstances of being a major supernatural hang out and needs to be open for sanctuary, as the club is neutral ground and every supernatural creature knows this and they abide by the law or they are removed permanently. As I was leaving, I could smell something lingering in the air around the club. It was faint, but it was so similar. I knew that scent, from a long time ago....

[A long time ago, when I was a young girl, my sister and I were playing in the woods that backed our house with our friends. We were playing hide and seek, I was the seeker and my sister and our friends were hiding. No-one was able to win against my sister or I because we had a better sense of smell then the other kids. We were able to scent out those who were hiding, we just never knew why we had the better sense of smell. We wouldn't know to years later. I always wondered why my sister and I had a different smell compared to our friends. Our friends had a similar smell, they always smell like iron that is in the blood. Whereas, my sister and I had an underlying smell that told us that we were different to them. My sister smelled like strawberries and chocolate, where as I smelled like strawberries and roses.]

As I walked out the building that housed the club, I caught a faint scent of strawberries and chocolate. That was not have been possible, as she died a long time ago. She couldn't be alive that can not be possible. I must have imagined it, it was faint with a lot of other smells that were mixed in from all the different patrons we had during the night. I shook my head, thinking it wasn't possible. I pushed it out of my head, when I saw Rhys walking down the alley towards me. "Ready to head home?" Rhys asked. I nodded as I took his arm and we head toward the car. After working all night, I was tired and just wanted to sleep. While we drove, I updated Rhys on the finances and inventory. While I told Rhys, he nodded. As we were driving, Rhys suddenly convulsed in pain. It was so close to the full moon in 2 days and he must be feeling the effects of the change. I was able to put my foot on the break before the car veered off and hit one of the light posts that lined the side of the road. I held Rhys hand while the convulsions swept through his body. There is nothing that someone can do while the convulsions are happening. It took 5 minutes for the convulsions to stop. After they stopped, we swapped drivers and I drove the rest of the way home. I was so worried about Rhys, that I kept peeking at him. He was so pale, he was panting and he had his eyes closed like he could still feel the pain rippling like water through his body.

Once we got home, I helped Rhys into the house and laid him down on the couch, while i went to make us some breakfast. As it was the weekend, it was time for our weekend tradition of bacon and eggs with hash-browns and cooked tomato. While I was cooking enough to feed a hungry wolf and tiger. As we have high metabolism we have to have more food than normal humans, I heard the phone ring.

Hello Everybody.

I am appreciative of all those who are reading my very bad novel haha. I am hoping to update the novel every Sunday. But as I am a University Student, I might not be able to update every week at least until after my exams in 6-7 weeks. I hope everybody is enjoying my very badly written novel and continue to reading.
