What was I doing dragging her into a closet! A janitor's closet at that. But I haven't been able to stop thinking about the black-haired beauty that smelt like roses and strawberries, and a scent that I could not identify, that bumped into me yesterday as she came running out of the school. I could see the tear streaks that rained down her face, but I knew they weren't tears from the upset kind of crying, she was angry and trying to hide it, by looking like she was crying. It was barely a breath, but I heard her apologise and keep running into the forest. So, here I was dragging her into the closet to get some answers. I could hear her heart beat get faster, and it took everything I had not to bite into her neck. I haven't fed in the last couple of days, and with what happened yesterday I completely forgot. As soon as I could, I let her go, but I could still fell the electricity that coursed through my hand the second I touched her arm. She had courage I give her that. Even with her heart beating like it would break out of her chest, she still spoke calmly, like this situation wasn't affecting her. But I knew it was. I could smell her emotions. She was frightened, but it wasn't of me. So, what was she frightened of. I could not figure this girl out.
"Well I said sorry, but like you said you heard it, even if it was quiet, so I don't need to pay for anything" she said more calmly then she felt, if her emotions and heart rate were anything to go by. That put a smile on my face and it felt weird. I haven't smiled in over 12 months, and before that it hadn't been for over 120 years.
"Okay, fine, sorry to have wasted your time" I said more curtly then I wanted to, but I needed to get out of that closet, if I didn't, I was going to bite into her succulent neck. After we finished this little chat, I left the closet and went straight to my 1967 Chevy Impala, and just drove. I could not be at that school with her walking the corridors and I haven't fed. I didn't want to hurt any of the other students, so I had to leave. I didn't have a clue where I was going until I got to Guilty Pleasures, the club that houses both the Human kind and Supernatural. It opened 3 years ago, and I have been coming here ever since to feed from one of the feeders here. I parked the car and went to the door to pay my cover to get in. Rhys was on the door like he always was during the day and sometimes at night too.
"Hey Rhys, is Amanda in today?" I asked rudely, after the run in with the girl today, I was not in a good mood. Rhys just gave me an odd look, I could see the confusion in his eyes for a second before it dawned on him who I was. "Oh damn, hey Bellamy, sorry dude, you look so different with your school clothes on, and she will be, she hasn't arrived yet, but her shift starts in 10 if you want to go in and wait, I will send her to you when she arrives. Hey, is that Iryllian High's uniform?" Rhys asked. I looked at him like he had grown a second head. How did he know which high school this uniform came from? "Yeah it is how did you know that?" I asked. Something must have shown on my face, because he said "Oh, my sister goes there that's all". I nodded and headed into the bar, not putting two and two together till later that night. Rhys was the man, cause no less than 10 minutes later after I had sat down to enjoy my bourbon and coke, did Amanda come and sit in my booth offering her neck. Amanda was one of the many humans who worked here as a feeder to feed those with unusual tastes like myself. I slid closer to her and brought her into a lover embrace, so that the humans sitting at the bar, if they looked over, would think nothing other than there were two people making out in the booth. Once I had her in the right position, I was able to sink my fangs into her neck, and I started to drink. Her blood tasted fresh and warm, and it slid down my throat with ease. Once I had drank my fill, I licked her neck to seal and heal the wound and thanked her with a large tip before I sent her on her way. Then I just sat in my booth in the back corner, and watch the people who came to and from the bar all day. I had nothing better to do, because I couldn't go back to school anyway, I had already missed half a day just getting to the club, as It was on the other side of the city. So, I watched college kids come and go, business men coming in after they finished work for a stiff drink, all different kind of people, I even saw a couple of supernatural come to head towards the VIP section which is supernatural only. This is so they can be themselves without having the fear of the humans finding out what they are. Even I was a VIP member, but I hardly used my membership, I didn't need to most of the time. But as the night wore on, all the partiers came out to play and I needed a distraction. Cause even when I was people watching, I could not get her out of my head. What was her name? What did she like to do? I was back to be a damn human teenager, only thinking about girls. But I am a 120-year-old vampire, I shouldn't just be thinking about this one girl, that is barely a blink in my eye when it comes down to it. She is Human, I am a Vampire. There is nothing good can come of any kind of relationship. But my cock felt differently about this then my head did. So, I looked over the girls on the dance floor, looking for my prey for the night, when I caught I whiff of roses and strawberries. It was only for a second and then it was gone, I must have imagined it. I went back to searching for my prey, but none of the girls interested me in a one-night distraction. I sighed and decided that I might as well head home. As I walked to the door, I got the whiff of roses and strawberries again, and I knew this time that it was not my imagination. I could really smell her. She was here. As I neared the door I could hear her talking to Rhys.
"Hey Rhys, I am here to check in on my club, check the finances, stock and do the rosters for next week. Any annoyances happen?" She asked in that silky voice that slid over me like water. It was breath taking. Then it hit me, Her club? This is her club? I have been coming here for 3 years, how come I have never seen her here before.
"No Disturbances, and it has been fine. You have usually done the books and all that from home, why did you want to do them here today of all days?" Rhys asked back. From home, like he knew where she lived, like they lived together, as a couple. That does not sit well with me, she is mine. My lips pulled back, like I was about to growl when came her reply. "I need a distraction, something happened at school today that unsettled me, I just needed to be around people that's all, nothing to worry about". I heard Rhys growl and it was such an inhuman growl I have ever heard. I knew he was a cursed werewolf unable to change form, but I always wondered if he had all the other traits a werewolf had. Well that just answered my question. The conversation continued and I didn't know if I should show myself, or wait till they finish talking and casually walk out.
"Who do I need to hurt?" Rhys growled and I knew that he would hurt anyone that would hurt her. I didn't know what to feel about this situation, something in me told me she was mine and no man could have her, not even my friend Rhys. I was about to go out there when I heard her reply and it made me freeze. "You don't need to hurt anybody, it was just some guy who threatened me because I ran into him yesterday when I was escaping the school building. He wasn't what scared me, because you know some punk cant scare me, it was just what I felt for him, how safe I felt in his arms that scared me". She was talking about me. She felt safe in my arms. And for the second time in a day, she could put a smile on my face. Before Rhys could reply to the revelation that she just dropped she said "And anyway you're going to have the next five days off because of the full moon, I can already see the effects occurring. You need to go home. Rest till the full moon, then rest after it". I could hear the small laugh that came from Rhys at this comment before he said, "With you around who can rest", she laughed at this, but it just put a scowl on my face. He was flirting with her. She Was Mine. He continued to speak, "Who are you going to get to replace me, I am the only one who can work the door during these times, the others all change on the full moon". He was right, all the bouncers I know from this club are all werewolves and with the full moon coming they will need the chance to rest and recover too.
"How about the Vampire behind the door who has been listening to this conversation" she exclaimed, like she knew I was here. But that is impossible right, she is Human. She can't know. "You might as well come out now" she said through the door, like she knew I could hear her. Even though I knew what to expect, when I stepped out to see her face I was shocked, that I stopped mid-step out the door. She was gorgeous. Her purple eyes that shone when the moon light hit her eyes. Her full red lips that anyone could call kissable. She was wearing tight fitting jeans that flared at the ankles, she was wearing a crop top that showed some of her flat stomach, that I could easily run my hand along to get her to moan with pleasure at my touch. When she saw me step out from the club her eyes went wide and she breathed out a word "you!", her mouth formed an 'O' in surprise. We looked into each other's eyes for what seemed like hours and the whole world fell away till it was just us. During this Rhys looked back and forth between us with a questioning glance towards me, most likely thinking about the words that she had said earlier 'I felt safe in his arms'. Then the realisation came to him. He grabbed me by the uniform and slammed me into the wall and growled in my face "What did you do to my sister?!". For the second time that night, I froze with the realisation. She was Rhys sister. But as I looked between the two, they looked nothing like each other, how could they be siblings when they look nothing alike. The confusion must have shown on my face because she explained, "We are not real brother and sister, he found me and adopted me as his sister". When I nodded to this, Rhys slammed me against the wall again with real anger in his eye, and growled "I want an answer, what did you do to my sister today to make her so uncomfortable? She said you threatened her, did you threaten my sister?". I could so no way out of this, when I looked over to Rhys sister to see if she will help me, she did nothing but smile, like she enjoyed me getting threatened by her older brother was entertaining. Maybe for her it was, but for me it was absolutely terrifying.
"If you let me go, I will explain" I said as I needed to come up with an explanation that didn't get my head ripped off. As Rhys slowly let me go, I again looked to his sister, pleading for help with my eyes. She finally nodded that she would help and explained to her brother that it was a miss understanding and that I didn't really threaten her per say, that it wasn't really a threat just a scaring technique. Once Rhys nodded and took a step back closer to his sister, I knew I was in the clear, but I knew if I made one wrong move, he was going to rip my head off. For a guy who is cursed, he sure looks scary.
"So, do you want the job or not?" His sister asks, once the situation had calmed down considerably. I looked at her in surprise, she was really offering me a job.
"You're really offering me a job? I thought you were kidding!", Rhys and his sister looked at each other and smiled like there was an inside joke that I was not aware of. "She never jokes" Rhys exclaimed. I just looked between them and finally agreed to work for those night. She nodded and said to follow her back inside the club cause I needed to fill in some forms before I started tomorrow night.
We went back to her office, she quickly wrote up a contract for me to sign, I filled in my bank detail, my social security number, any tax information that she needed. When I read the contract, she wrote that I will be filling in for only the night shifts, she also wrote that I would be employed each full moon for 5 days at a time. I was okay with all the details and benefits that she explained, so I signed on the dotted line and handed her back all the forms, she signed where she needed to as my employer and filed them away. She rose from her chair and held out her hand to thank me and send me on my way, but before she could do that I asked. "What is your name, out of this rushed craziness I have forgot to ask", she smiled a small smile and sat back down behind her desk. She looked me in the eye and said, "My name is Freyre Deaousos, and you are?". I couldn't help but smile at her name, it was beautiful as she was. "My name is Bellamy Blake". She nodded her head and said, "it's nice to meet you, Bellamy", to which I replied, "It's nice to meet you".
"If you don't mind Mr. Blake, I need to get on with some work, and I don't want to be rude" Freyre said. Her voice was like honey, it was the most beautiful sound that I have ever heard.
"Please call me Bellamy, before I go who will you get to man the door during the day, I know Rhys does it as well as most nights?" I asked, because she had only put me on the night shift which started at 5 and I finished just in time for school, it was a good thing I am dead and don't need much sleep, not that I need school either.
"I already have someone for the day shift, its none of your concern till when you relieve them tomorrow night" she replied with that cute smile that she does. I just nodded and said, "see you at school tomorrow". That got her to laugh, I wondered why she laughed, but her laugh was so distracting that it was all I could concentrate on. It was like twinkling lights would be if they had a sound. It was so refreshing and calming. Then her words broke me out of my daydream.
"Bellamy, its Saturday tomorrow there is no school" She continued to laugh as I left her office. The sound followed me out into the club which started to get packed. I had to maneuverer my way out to the door. The fresh air had hit me as I walked outside and it was refreshing able to breath the sweet scent of the fresh air, instead of the air that is masked with sweat and alcohol from the packed and stifling heat from the packed people in the club.
Rhys was still manning the door, when I left. He gave me a small nod of the head as I walked past heading towards my car.
