1 Modern world

Vision

The man tall in a scurfy hoody and dark jeans a shadow more like, running off down the street, steps heavy and stealthy under the black boots pounding on the ground "clomp! Clomp!" loud in her ears until they become faint sounds gone with the cold night air further away from her.

Orel Lanett stared blankly in trance before slowly turning her head to face the night sky which was a cover of dark clouds.

Orel's eyelids blinked, slowly filling up, mouth whimpering pain of muffled sounds, body in shock shaking on the ground. Moist? ... moist? that matted her dress from her chest .... …. blood? Red.... … a red path flow, she was bleeding.

Orel felt the life coming out of her ...… time! l am running out of time, her thought kept screaming.

Neil...? At least she had a chance to say goodbye before it was too late.

On his way rushing his pace towards her, Neil Landon thought, he would make it, his body going still momentarily in panic, she was matted in blood from her chest where the man stabbed her.

Quickly kneeling on the stone pavement and leaning in gathering her to himself "You can survive it!" said Neil.

"l am so ...so.... sorry if l came earlier! l should've ... sh-sshould have run out ...."

"it's nnnot …not your fault …. you came Neil, it couldn't be evaded could it … he came for me again!" Vehemently mouthing out with all the strength she had.

"Hello 911 someone is hurt here! please hurry in Beckley Street!" voice fast-toned in a panic after retrieving his cell phone from his pocket and immediately hanging up on the tossing the phone... without a thought in impatience.

"Orel-l with your strength alone…. do not …. Don't die on me, my love the ambulance is on is on its way" Face crumbled, lips trembling and his heavy figure shaking with sobs Neil was in hysteria.

"Neil! … Neil take out the knife... ...please, it's extremely excruciating .... l can't …. aaaah" looking up into his eyes darkness of pain clouded in them.

"l don't have time Neil" she was sobbing tears which were sprawled over her face in droplets and unfit to talk intelligently.

"What! …...no if l do? you will die! Am not doing anything insane like that, l called the hospital they're on their way here now"

I...…I don't regret us" her eyes pleaded for him to understand " Could you …. trying to her hardest not close her eyes looking into those green piercing eyes however her strength gave out, the body growing still hand clinging to him now faltered in a dead dropdown. She went to a sleep where no one could ever wake up from.

"Orel …. Orel! ...No ...no," shaking her up and getting no response, whispered Neil in her hair. His heartbeat increased beat, as tears streamed in his eyes, holding her closer rocking her to his body. She was gone, dead eyes fixed vacantly.

Neil crouched one hand over in his chest, picking up her cold, pale hand touching it to her newly wet cheek closing her eyes just for a moment. In that eternal second, he felt her presence like the last kiss they never got to have. Orel's spirit was gone.

Neil placed his hand by her side and hugged her, feeling her body cool his tears soaking into her dress.

........

As l animated from substantial sleep …. I am first mindful of the coolness of the air and its loamy aroma, heart pulsating crazy of dreads and control slipping.

Reality is half a miracle in case, I'm despite everything dreaming as l sit up to take in the poles of light that burst through the holes in the room.

Presently conscious, maybe more completely wakeful than I've ever at any point been, there are no ways around me and no indication of someone else.

"Cicero, did it show you? The future child what did you see?" Felix Landon asked and his father in the same sentiment together situated across the room him in assistance, sitting tight for him to wake up.

The immediate environment, the study which was a collection of books, tables, desks, and couches with lit glass lamps lighting the room from the darkness of the night.

The boy was seated upright on the upholstered chair in the middle of the room, book aisle on the side of the room and couch for guests chairs on the across, the room nearby the windows Centre the room space where the sitting area was stationed.

"It's alright son quiet down first and afterward disclose to us appropriately then "his grandfather Felix ameliorated him acquitted with the experience of seeing the future like him.

"She was dying!! …...the girl, the…would …... l seemed to ...to .... the was a man holding her? The man's eyes were similar to mine and father's and he seemed to.... love her in the dream?

Then...she died killed! by a man whose face l couldn't see." His eyes were extended with acknowledgment of what he saw his breathing preventing him from discourse.

Felix looked at his son, Randlett Landon the boy's father who had the same look of puzzlement at what the boy saw. A future as dire as that was unforeseen of the principal dream understanding of the person's fate or saving a nation from disaster but death as the first dream was unexpected.

"Take your time, explain first we can see your overwhelmed with everything" touching his shoulder in a calming gesture.

Neil reviewed the scene, he saw previously, waiting for their response after explaining.

"The best suit of action would be trying to find out who killed her?" Randlett spoke to his father seeking his opinion.

"Yes, that's ideal however waiting for more dreams to explain what is going to occur is the best suit of action and no rash decisions as of yet" Felix gave a reasonable approach with the thought of the situation.

"Positive thing that the ring also might show a solution then we could change the situation and focus on that..." Randlett let out a sigh answering his father.

"Father… what should l do, what if she was hurt because of me? … l don't think l want that ring ..." his voice broke out, the conversation between the adults seated near each other.

"Don't panic son, we always found a way. Cicero is a legend neither weak either for it guides you. Your grandfather and I can further discuss a solution in the meantime get some rest".

"You can leave the ring, just try not to think worry about it we will think of a solution now. Now go off and leave ring here with us on the table"

Felix said to his grandchild who seemed shaken up from his first vision.

The boy stood up, leaving the room as the two men were left to their own privacy.

The Landon family had passed on the legacy of the ring from their progenitors from the earlier 101 in the early centuries to the present day.

CICERIO a talisman believed to be endowed with special powers to protect or bring good fortune.

The ring was called CICERIO a philosopher the importance of it was the abilities it possessed in use. Abilities were known was the ability to show the future which would directly come to pass which was valuable not only to its owner but to kings, to men in power it meant killing their enemies, solving treason in a nation, for other it was up a source acquiring their greed and saving lives.

Cicero's value was unmeasurable, the ring's appearance to the family was a mystery itself.

A gift bestowed for saving a King's life in the past by great, great, grandfather was a story long and told. The generation passed from father to son until now present now to the boy's hands.

CICERO brought success to the owner in wealth and prestige among the society, people who knew of existence thought it was a myth but those who heard of it and believed in it hunted it down for their own purposes for its power.

Therefore, the Landon family had to be mysterious about its ownership for their safety a secret among men.

Felix and Randlett in a conversation about the vision the boy saw "Do you think his partner's killing has something to do with people mysteriously searching for the ring father? Darwen Stroman…".

"My guess … is that … the men hunting the ring couldn't have still been around for that long?" Felix looked at his son thinking of trackers of the ring, his shoulder hunched sited in an open posture on the seat.

"People are always after the ring, for their own greedy purposes and will always, be there, we both know if the ring is taken by the men Cavendish society or one of those terrible men the chaos and death are unimaginable!" Randlett thought in perplexed expression in disturbed tone.

"l am aware of that, let's keep that part out for the boy we deal with that, as for the people after the ring. Neil should always be careful and protect himself".

Felix looked away in thought how he and his son were fought for those trackers to keep his family safe and they had to be careful with his grandson since he was the owner of the ring now.

The story's beginning a future to come...
