5 Memories

Tang Shi Yi bit her nails while peeking at Ye Heng behind the wall.

It was only when she could no longer see his figure that Tang Shi Yi could breathe in relief. She looked at her fingernails and sighed.

Her Chen Chen was going to scold her again if he knew that she was biting her nails again.

Her son would often remind her that this bad habit would make her nails turn ugly. Tang Shi Yi had lost count of just how many times her son had scolded her.

A helpless look appeared on her face when she recalled her adorable son.

Tang Shi Yi leaned on the wall behind her and closed her eyes.

She did not think that she would be able to see Ye Heng at this hotel.

Unexpectedly, her heart would still flutter when she saw him. 

It seemed that no matter how long time had passed, she would not be able to forget him.

Ye Heng was still as good-looking as he was years ago.

Scenes from her younger self once again reappeared in her mind. 

Back then, they were both very young. 

Ye Heng was in the same class as her. He was a bright student and had a good attitude. 

He was both good-looking and well-liked by their classmates and professors. 

This man caught the eyes of many girls and that was including hers.

She liked him for years but had never dared to tell him what she felt.

After all, he was the young master of the Ye family from Y City while she was an ordinary person who came from a small town. Her family background was never that good either.

However, she managed to get close to Ye Heng because of her academics. They often work together on their assignments.

Everyone thought that she was in a relationship with Ye Heng, but they remained very close friends.

Back then, Ye Heng would often tell her that he would take her back to Y City after they graduated from university. 

His family had a company and his father wanted him to learn to manage the company once he returned to Y City.

Ye Heng asked her to come with him so that they could work together.

He admired her work ethic and thought that they would both make a great team.

She agreed. After all, she had always wanted to escape the small town and live in a bigger city.

Thus, the two of them began to plan their future together.

But what Ye Heng did not know was that being together with him was not that easy, even though they were just friends.

When he was not around to protect her, the others would scold her, telling her that she was not suitable for him due to their status differences. They were saying that she only got close to him just because she wanted to climb up the social ladder.

Initially, she did not mind it. But after listening to their scolding almost every day, her confidence began to crumble. 

But somehow, they got together during their graduation night. 

Everyone was happy that they would no longer have to look at their books. They drank too much and they had both lost their senses.

She knew that Ye Heng only considered her as his friend, but she wanted to take this advantage to be together with him even just once.

The next day, Ye Heng woke up, not remembering much about anything. He did not get to ask her what had happened as he needed to head back home. His younger sister will be engaged. As the elder brother, it was impossible for Ye Heng not to attend the event.

Unexpectedly, she received a phone call from home not too long after Ye Heng left for Y City.

Something happened to her family. Her father passed away. As the only child of the family, she had to shoulder the burden of her family.

She had to head back to her hometown. It was too urgent and she did not have the time to tell anyone where she was going. 

Moreover, Her father's sudden death turned her life upside down. During a quarrel with someone in her family, her phone was broken and all the data stored in her phone was damaged.

She could not contact Ye Heng from then on.

She considered getting the same number so that Ye Heng could find her. However, when she considered the mess in her family, Tang Shi Yi began to hesitate.

She began to consider that perhaps, this was fate.

After all, she did not think that it was suitable for someone like her to be with Ye Heng.

They both lose contact just like that.

Moreover, she was too busy with her family matters. She did not have time to think about her meals. How can he have time to think about romance?

One day, she passed out and was taken to the hospital. 

She had thought that she had her health was getting poorer because she often skipped her meals.

Who would have thought that the doctor would give her surprise news?

On that day, she found out that she was pregnant.

The news was too sudden and she was at a loss. She had so many times in hand and did not know what she should do.

Her family's situation was not that good and she did not know whether she could afford to give birth or even give birth to that child.

She spent a long time thinking about this matter. Whether she wanted to go for an abortion or choose to give birth.

Her mother persuaded her to abort the child. After all, she was still too young and she will have many opportunities to get pregnant again in the future.

She thought about the father of the child and the moments that they shared.

In the end, she decided to give birth.

With this decision, Tang Shi Yi felt that it was wise for her to break contact with Ye Heng. 

She liked him, but he only considered her as his good friend.

That night, Ye Heng was drunk. And the one who let things happen between them was her. After all, she was quite conscious when they slept together.

"Miss Tang?"

The voice made her look up.

A man in the hotel's uniform stood in front of her. "Miss Tang, President Quan is looking for you."

Tang Shi Yi snapped out of her thoughts and looked at her wristwatch. She did not realize that a long time had passed since she left the ballroom.

She stepped out of the ballroom wanting to look and get some fresh air. Unexpectedly, she saw Ye Heng and was lost in her thoughts.

"I know." Tang Shi Yi smiled. "Thank you. I will go back and look for him."
