3 Chapter Two: Lucas POV

I woke to something tumbling to the cold tiles of the kitchen.

"Flippen french fries." I heard someone grumble and it was only then that I had noticed I was alone on the sofa. She must have gotten hungry. I smile and shake my head at her.

"Hmm. Perhaps I should add more emotion to it... I am in love with the sunset and sunrise. The daytime and nighttime. I'm in love with someone who would love me unconditionally, care for me, with their whole heart, and give me their entire being. I am in love with the idea of loving someone unconditionally, caring for someone with my whole heart, and giving them my entire being." She sighed and commenced making herself coffee then she proceeded to speak. I was so stunned by her words.

"Is that too much to ask? If I want it shouldn't there be someone else who wants it too?" It was so beautiful, the way she interpreted things. The way her voice was delicate yet she was so demanding. Like she would tell you she was going to murder you immediately and you would be too attracted by her voice to really tell what she is saying.

Wait to go with your idiot explanations.

"Hey, what you doing?" I whispered to her from behind the counter. Her body went motionless, she turned to look at me and had a startled expression on her face.

"You did not...hear what I said?... Did..you?" She looked so embarrassed that I could not bring myself to lie to her. But I did.

"No. I did not. Not a single word." I grinned at her. She went to the cupboard and took out another mug and continued to do whatever it is she was doing and I decided to take a seat on one of the bar stools.

"I'm making ginger lemon tea for myself because I have a massive headache. And I wanted to ask if you want any hot beverage or cold."

"If there is hot chocolate or just normal coffee."

"Of course there is hot chocolate in this house. You like marshmallows in them?"

"In what?"

"In your hot chocolate silly." She chuckled at me and truthfully her laugh was entertaining which made me smile.

"Oh. Yes please, barista Zara." We both glanced at each other and burst out laughing. She began again with the drinks and I sat there gazing. After a few moments she spoke up.

"You trying to steal my recipe?" She looks at me with one eyebrow raised.

"Oh don't pride yourself, darling. The only individual whose recipes are worth stealing is" I point my thumbs at myself.

"Yeah sure." She rolled her eyes. She passed one of the mugs to me and I took a sip.

"Well well well, looks like I got some competition." We both started laughing cautious not to wake anyone slumbering in the lounge. "You think I could have a drink of yours?" I eye her ginger tea weirdly.

"Sure." She slides it across the counter to me. I taste it and I am filled with instant regret while Zara is laughing at me. How did she even drink this with a straight face? I swallowed it and I promised to never ask her to taste this strange drink again.

"Why-"

"So this is where you have been chilling all this time. I was wondering if you were in the bedroom but then I recollected that Kirstin and Marco had to share the double bunk. With me might I add!" One of the girls at the party came in and started searching for something in the cupboards.

How do they even know where the things are in this house!? Are they allowed to take from here?!

"But I thought you were here with me in the lounge. If you were in the room then who was I with?" Zara's eyebrows were knitted in confusion.

"It was me." I eventually confess and I have already earned a bad impression on Jade. I was not appreciating the dirty looks that I was receiving from her. Zara had just sat back down and sipped from her tea.

"You are not mad at him?" Jade looks at Zara who is messaging her temples.

"No. I'm not Jayda. He has not done anything and if he had you know who would be giving him their fury. He's chilled Jayda. Take the medication, drink some water, and have a cup of coffee." Jane makes herself some coffee and sits down with us.

"So, how long were you guys up?" She looks over at Zara and wiggles her eyebrows. I laugh a bit as I see Zara's eyes grow wide and she almost spits out her ginger tea out of her mouth.

"Sorry to interrupt your noticeable eye signals, Jane, but nothing happened. I would never do anything to your friend." I assure her but she does not seem all too appreciative.

"My name is Jayda." Zara and I gave each other a look and chuckled. I was certainly not on her good side and anything that I did would not help me get on it at all.

"Anyway... We were up long enough to get in a little conversation." I roll my eyes at her. What a sophisticated thing to do, Lucas, I thought.

"Well I will be off to bed so that this tea can do it's a thing " Zara hops off the barstool and heads off to the bedroom. I turn to Jayda one last time before I head to the sofa. To say that I did not want to speak to her, or have a conversation was a massive understatement.

"Look, I do not know what your problem is but I am doing nothing to you or to your friend. I am not going to sit here while you assess me. Leave me alone." For a second she was stunned but it quickly turned into rage. I left before she could say anything.
