Chapter 1

Rain POV

"Miss .... Winters, sorry to keep you waiting" oh god it's that nurse again, I don't know how many times I have been admitted to the hospital, but she just can't remember my name.

"No problem, what did the Doctor say then. Let me guess he wants me admitted again?" This as you may have guessed is not my first time in the hospital, I have been ill since I was 6 years old. The first 4 or 5 years were spent telling me that they can fight it and that all would be fine if I just remain strong. It became clear after that I was not going to get better, in fact they told me I would die. They did however mention that they would do all they could to extend my life and now I have made it to 18, this sound great to have lived this long but, I have lived 12 years in hell. I am an Orphan so I don't have a loving family to support me through this and I am in and out of hospital so much I don't really have many friends. I have been in this fight alone and will probably die alone, the only adult who took care of me is Dr.Hoop. He has been my Doctor since I was first admitted, he knows how painful it has been for me and did his best to make the time I have happy.

"Yes I'm sorry Miss .... Winters, but the Doctor thinks it's for the best" and with that said she quickly leaves the room, probably gone to get a coffee that's all I see her do drink coffee.

The room I'm in is not to bad, it's small but so is every room I have had, it's a typical hospital layout; bed, side table with a lamp, small chest of drawers for the little about of cloths I own and two very uncomfortable looking chairs for visitors not that I have any, there is also a small bathroom with a toilet and shower. I sit in the bed looking out the window into the forest, I love nature and being outside, that is one of the many things that sucks about my illness I can't go out much.

Blaze POV

I sit at my desk just staring into space wishing for this meeting to end, one of the elders is in here reporting back on some trip they had to another pack and what he thinks I could use from that pack.

"Alpha are you alright?" oh no did he notice I was not listening.

"Yes fine" I quickly mind link my Beta to interrupt us and end this meeting.

"Zack I don't care how you do it but end this meeting now"

"What do you expect me to do your the Alpha just ask hime to leave"

"Zack you know I can't do that to an elder please just tell him you have important business to discuss with me"

"Fine but you owe me" Zack grumbles. This is one of the many upsides to being a wolf shifter I can mind link other member of my pack.

"Im sorry elder Green but I have some important pack documents that Alpha needs to read and sign so could we cut this short" Zack asks very politely trying not to upset him.

"Oh I'm sorry Beta I will leave, Alpha if it's alright I will type up my suggestions for you to read over and have them sent to you" well that's gotta be better than sitting through a meeting listing to his voice drone on.

"yes that's fine elder green" the elder bows his head and leaves. I just sit there and look out the window I see a mated couple taking a goal along the edge of the forest, what I would not give to have my mate. You see wolfs are supposed to find there mates between 18 and 20 but I'm 25 and still haven't found mine, sometimes I feel like the moon goddess did not bless me with one.

"You thinking about your mate" Zack interrupts my thoughts.

"Im 25 I should have found her by now, I need my luna I can't run the pack alone forever" I sigh heavily.

"Blaze I know you need her but the moon goddess must have a reason for you to not have found her yet" Zack said as he put his had on my shoulder.

"You don't understand Zack you have found your mate and she is perfect" I get up and move to the window.

"Listen we have just expanded our territory and in a couple of days we will be surveying the area she might be a human in that area so hold off on getting all depressed, I am not going to run this pack for you" I chuckle at this, the last time I left to find my mate Zack stayed at the pack Houde to run things and lets just say he looked dead when I came back.

"Your right Zack, let's just see what the next couple of days bring, on some other business wasn't there a human hospital in the area we acquired?" You see my pack owned and ran two businesses one was a security company and the other was a pharmaceutical company, we had a few hospitals as well and we recently just brought the hospital in the acquired land.

"Yes I believe it's just a small one on the east edge of the forest" Zack said as he search through some documents.

"Okay I think we will head east first then and check out this hospital and see what needs doing

"We should head to the town near by as I think it would be a good location for a security shop" Zack questioned.

"Yeah okay so we will head there scout it out find a hotel for the night then head to the hospital in the morning" I laid out our plan hopeful to find my mate.
