22 22. The Woman Named Emma

Javin felt his chest burning. He was very annoyed, seeing that woman clinging spoiled to Forth, as if there was glue on her body.

Forth and Javin got out of bed in a hurry, an hour ago, just when Forth was about to say something important to Javin, because of loud banging and loud calls on the door.

A woman in a bikini, the bottom of which was carelessly covered by sheer beach cloth, stood at the door with a big smile.

"Forth! I know it's you! I saw you last night, but I can't go directly to you because my agent is very strict," the woman muttered as she threw herself into Forth's arms who looked shocked, as well as Javin who was standing behind him.

"Emma?" asked Forth confused. "How did you get here?"

The woman called Emma let go of her arms and sauntered in past Forth and Javin. She looked Javin up and down and up again, then turned to Forth. "Who's he?"

"My assistant," Forth answered quickly. He closed the door and grabbed Emma's hand. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, I did a photo shoot for the calendar. You didn't invite me to sit? We haven't seen each other in a long time," Emma said flirtatiously.

Forth glanced at Javin who was still dumbfounded and whispered beside his ear. "Go shower and order breakfast. I'll take care of Emma."

Forth approached Emma and pointed at the sofa. "Sit down."

Emma chuckled and sat down on the sofa. She took Forth's hand and sat beside him. "You're still cold and distant," Emma said brightly. "How are you? Still not into daytime dates?"

Javin wanted to send the woman away, but he chose to keep a straight face. He took out a pair of casual clothes for Forth and put them on the bed. "Mr. Forth, here are your clothes. I will take a shower and order breakfast for you and for your guests," Javin said in an even tone.

Emma turned to Javin. "Order me toast with peanut butter, cold orange juice and a salad, Mr. Assistant."

Forth snorted. "You're still being rude" he turned to Javin and smiled. "Please order what Emma asked for, and order whatever you want. Thank you, Javin."

Javin nodded and walked into the bathroom. Emma pressed her body against Forth.

"I miss you, Forth. You've become even more handsome and hotter now."

Forth felt uncomfortable and tried to distance himself from Emma, but the woman was like a leech.

"I think, since what happened that night, your father has forbidden you from working in the modeling world," Forth said flatly.

Emma sighed. "I've broken away from my old-fashioned father. He ruined my life and career. Because of what he did, I have to work hard again from zero to start building my reputation again."

"You no longer live with your father?" asked Forth surprised.

"No. I even changed my name. I'm no longer an Aekarin. My name is Emma Trashian now."

Javin came out of the bathroom brushing his half wet hair. Forth gulped at the sight.

"Mr. Forth, you can take a shower now. I've got the water ready. We'll have a zoom meeting in an hour."

Forth released his hand from Emma's grip and took the towel that Javin offered him with a wink and entered the bathroom.

Javin grabbed the phone from the nightstand and ordered breakfast to the restaurant.

Emma waved for Javin after he finished the call. "Come here, Mr. Assistant. I have something to ask you."

Javin came over and sat on the sofa across from Emma. The woman was wearing an unpleasant perfume, too strong.

"Yes, Miss? What do you want to know?" asked Javin politely.

"How long have you been Forth's assistant?" she asked.

"Less than six months. Why?"

"Have you ever seen him with a woman in the time you worked for him?"

Javin understood the direction of Emma's question. "Mr. Forth never took women to his house. Many sent him gifts and flowers but never responded."

"Ah," Emma snapped her fingers happily. "Has he still not found the girl?"

"The girl? Oh, you mean, her missing lover?"

Emma snorted, "What lover? They were both young when they met and Forth was stupid looking for the little girl whose identity was unclear, even though the girl could have turned out to be dead, already married, or maybe stranded in a mental hospital or prison?"

"Miss, you better not say anything bad about anything related to Mr. Forth's life. I don't know what your relationship with him is, but now it is my duty to protect Mr. Forth," said Javin in a firm tone.

Emma looked at Javin with raised eyebrows, then smiled broadly. "Wow, well, I'm used to seeing Forth changing assistants, because he has a strange work pattern. His biological clock is different from normal people, so no one feels comfortable working with him for more than one month. Seeing Forth on this beach last night really made me surprised, let alone he brought someone with him. I think, seeing this attitude of yours and how you still look handsome without panda eyes and haggard face due to lack of sleep, I think finally Forth found someone who is just as strange so you two fit together."

"Emma, you better go now. I'm going to advance the zoom meeting with the client to a few more minutes before breakfast," said Forth, who suddenly stood behind the sofa. He raised an eyebrow at Javin. "Would you mind calling the restaurant and having Miss Emma's breakfast delivered directly to her room so we can contact the client immediately?"

Emma was very surprised and turned pale. She stood awkwardly and approached Forth, nuzzling on his shoulder.

"Come on Forth, we haven't talked in a while. I missed you."

Forth smiled politely and removed Emma's hand from his shoulder and walked to the door. Javin calls the restaurant and conveys Forth's message about breakfast for Emma.

"Good luck to you in your career, Emma and I hope you won't be involved in a similar incident as before," Forth said kindly as he motioned for Emma to leave.

The woman wanted to protest, but Forth's sharp eyes frightened her. He came out and still trying to be flirtatious by blowing kisses.

"I'll visit you sometime, Forth."

Forth closed the door and breathed a sigh of relief. He approached Javin who was taking out fruit from the fridge and hugged him from behind.

Javin looked up in surprise. "Phi? What are you doing?"

Forth smiled. "Your face is cloudy and your eyebrows have been knit really hard since earlier. What's wrong with you? Is something upsetting you?"

Javin put the fruit in his hand back into the fridge and turned to face Forth. He looked into Forth's eyes, trying to read the light.

"Do you need to ask about that, Phi?" asked Javin sadly. "Whatever I feel, it means nothing to you."

Forth looked at Javin sharply. "Don't pretend. You're not a mind reader. What you feel matters to me. Just say it!"

Javin sighed and a drop of tear fell down his cheek when he whispered while looking down. "I just feel embarrassed, Phi."

Forth was stunned. What?
