1 Move to Another Town

At the beginning of the even semester in 2004 at one of the private high schools, precisely, in the counselling room, a student accompanied by her parents was having a serious conversation with the school counselling teacher.

Not only the school counselling teacher but the homeroom counsellor of the class was also present in the room.

"So Mrs Minami, we can no longer tolerate your daughter's misdeeds in this school. This time, we can't handle her," said Mrs Diah.

"Forgive us ma'am, but is there any other way besides having to move my daughter, Azmya to another school?"

"Moreover, Azmya had brought honour for this school. Can't the school be lenient, because she is already in XII grade?" Mrs Minami begged. Meanwhile, Azmya's face only showed a look that didn't care much about the conversation.

"Sorry, ma'am. We can't guide Azmya anymore, because there are many requests from the parents and many students who want Azmya to move out of this school."

"Besides, they are afraid of being influenced by Azmya's bad attitude," Ms Ade, Azmya's homeroom teacher added.

Mrs Minami just took a deep breath hearing that answer. Then she turned to her daughter, Azmya. The girl was showing a face full of no regret, instead of feeling guilty for all the mistakes she had done.

"If Lisa didn't try to injure herself, maybe this problem would be resolved properly. But, Azmya had made Lisa attempt to commit suicide, and somehow had made the whole school in an uproar by spreading the videos that made Lisa hurt herself," Mrs Adel explained.

"Because of this problem, the school has to deal with the police, not to mention the media is trying to cover this case," said Mrs Diah.

"Our Headmaster was also summoned by the education authorities. Therefore, to fix and restore all of this, we, the school, must expel Azmya out of this school."

"Never mind. Even though Azmya must accept a heavy sanction, there's nothing we can do. We have to endure them."

"Yes, the transfer letter has been prepared by the student department, and Azmya, I beg you to stop repeating the same mistakes and wrongdoing at your new school!" Mrs Adel said.

"Fine ma'am, but ma'am, to be honest, I don't feel like I have made that mistake. I just admit that my naughtiness is just skipping classes, being sleepy in class, but I have never fought in class or disturb the underclassmen in the canteen, even though I love to fight."

"But for the case of distributing the video of Lisa and blackmailing Lisa, it wasn't me. Although there is evidence that my social media account is spreading, for God's sake, I didn't do that."

Azmya spoke as she got up from her seat and prepared to leave the room, which made her often feel stuffy and uncomfortable for long even though she was often in the room.

Still, she felt her chest tightened.

"Azmya, wait a minute, you have to apologise first and say goodbye to the teachers!" Mrs Minami asked.

But Azmya didn't heed her Mommy's words. She was annoyed and fed up enough. She just wanted to get away from that place immediately.

Azmya left without waiting for her mother. She walked away with a look of anger and dissatisfaction with all what she received today at the counsellor's office.

She headed to her class to take her school bag. All the way to the class, she was accompanied by hateful gazes from her schoolmates.

Azmya ignored everyone's stares. After all, she knew everything. The whole school hated her and was hostile to her. Some even swore at her.

Azmya tried to look tough and strong in front of everyone. When she arrived at her class, the whole class stared at her in silence. Azmya realised that all her classmates knew she was expelled from school.

But all of them would not object because they were the ones who made a petition to the school to expel her.

Azmya just looked at her friends' faces one by one with a sad look. Sad, because no one believed her.

"Take care guys. I hope you will be happy and satisfied when I am not in this school!" Said Azmya while smiling bitterly. Her words were only greeted with cold gazes.

"Come on, Azmy, you can go through all of this!" Azmya shouted, encouraging herself. With resolute steps, Azmya tried to leave the classroom with her head straight, not lowered.

She didn't want all the students in this school to think that she was defeated. She must maintain her prestige as a girl who was good at fighting.

**** *****

Not enough for Azmya to be lectured at school, this time she had to go back and faced her parents' wrath at home.

Azmya only hoped that this all would end soon. She was tired of having to be a scapegoat for what she didn't do.

"How dare you! If all my relatives know the fact that you are the perpetrator distributing immoral videos in schools..." Daddy was angry. He pointed at Azmya's face.

"I told you many times. I never distributed Lisa's video. She framed me." Azmya defended herself, trying to convince her dad.

"If you were really framed. Is there any evidence?" Mommy asked.

"I don't have the proof. But why don't you believe me?" Azmya was a little annoyed.

"Mommy and Daddy might believe it. But so far, at school, you often cause troubles and cases for everyone. You must have done it!" Daddy said.

"I don't need others to trust me. The important thing is for me to be sure and to believe in myself, Daddy. That is enough for me to be strong to go through this." Azmya said in a sad tone.

She did not dare to say what she had experienced and what actually happened.

"Let's just say we believe that you are not the culprit. Then what are your plans now? You are already class XII, the National Examination is near," Mommy asked.

"What if we move to another town? There, I have friends who have foundations and private high schools. I often give donations to his school. What if you move there?" Daddy asked.

Azmya took a deep breath. That meant she had to live far away from her parents.

"Then, I have to stay there?" She asked sadly.

"You have a temporary house there. If you have something to do, then you can stay there. Just take Lim and Pan with you!" said Daddy.

"Dad, can't we just look for a school in this town? I still have a little objection if Azmya moves to another town!" Her mother, who might not want to be far from her daughter, asked the father.

"Honey, I disagree if Azmya goes to that town. How can she live so far apart?" said Mommy in worry.

"Mom, it is alright. I am ready anyway. Lim and Pan will come along too, so it's okay, maybe in this way, everything will pass." Azmya was full of confidence.

"So, I will try to contact Mr Arya, Daddy's friend," said Daddy, taking his cellphone, trying to contact Mr Arya, whom he said was the owner of the school foundation.

Mommy looked sad and worried. Maybe she wasn't willing to let her daughter go that far. If only Mrs Minami didn't have a job, perhaps she could move with her daughter.
