No one wants to get hurt....

We don't want to get hurt.... Because it's painful....

We bear every painful things and memories engraved to our hearts...

And we can't able to let go that easily...

There are some consequences to the choices we made... and we still choose what's best in our situation....

Even if it hurts me... Or.... the others...

I wish there was a way to make everyone happy.... where it isn't painful choosing what you really want...

It is raining heavily as I drop my phone acting like nothing really happened..

On that rainy day I made a choice. That is best for everyone.

Chapter 1

It is the day I'm sending Yuzuha away.

She was the very first girl friend I ever encountered in my 17 years of existence. Now that she's moving to Kyoto, I won't be able to see her again. Just through messages and calls.

"Is that Pound Cake????" She was surprised to see it

"I wanted to give you this, I notice that you like it very much, so I think it would be nice to give it to you as a goodbye gift" I'm not really a talker, but I guess I'll be chatty with a friend

"Thank you so much Y/n, I'll enjoy this with care and love, as it is given by my beautiful friend" she always compliment me the usual

The train will be here in a minute, I'll miss Yuzuha so much.

"Take care always Yuzuha" I said, leaving quiet the sorrowful reaction

"Tell me when you get a boyfriend" she stated which made me so surprised and at the same time a little bit flustered

"You won't expect me to do that, I never really talk with boys, I've only talk to Ken" I find excuses, but I'm telling the truth

"You won't be single for life, I'm sure you'll find your prince charming soon, the moment it gets to you, don't let it go" she's giving me advice

Suddenly the train arrived leaving me worries about what Yuzuha had said

"Your train is here, goodbye Yuzuha" I said bidding farewell

"Remember what I've told you—"

I just nodded back at her as she get into the train, I look at her until she was out of my sight before I decided to go back home.

On my way back home, I was thinking about Yuzuha.

She was my only friend that I talk to everyday, and now that she's gone, I think I won't be able to meet a friend like her again.

And for the guy, I'm still waiting.

A hand block me out, "Poo"

Having worries for both a friend and a guy, I almost step on a poo if it weren't for that someone who stood by and stop me from walking any further.

As I look up, I was enchanted, leaving the thought that he looks like the prince from my favorite book. The blonde hair that matches the prince, perfectly pair with the piercing black eyes. The moment I see him I thought he was my prince.

"If you walk forward you'll step in a poo"

I step back, too surprised, "T....thank you" I stuttered

But then he walk away and left me behind and I was just looking at him walk from afar.

That was my first encounter with the prince.

Going back home, I was looking to where I was going, still can't get over to what just happened. But still I reached home.

I went inside the apartment, saw a girl standing besides the wall, I guess she got a problem. I wasn't going to approach her because I don't know what to ask or what to say but then she block me from getting inside the elevator.

"Umm... I need your help" she said shyly, she can't even look at me in the eyes

I may look dumb, "W-what help?" I said, I rarely talk to strangers

"You see I forgot my key, so can I— um.. how to say this..."

"Sure!" I said, finding out her situation

She look at me with those eyes, surprised

She followed me to our apartment. Mom is cooking and Dad is reading news paper, I don't really have a sibling but I have a childhood friend living next door.

Mom prepared pound cake for the both of us. We enter our room and sure it's pretty tidy. We sat down and talk as we eat and drink a cup of tea.

"My name is Emma, Emma Sano" she started giving me her wonderful smile

From that very moment I admires her. She look so cool to me.

She reach out and I slowly accepted her hand and we had a hand shake.

"Shinya Suou" I mumbled my name

She smiled brightly, "This is my 5th moving, and I hope this is the last time" when she said the last sentence she felt depressed but she wash it out with a smile

She started crying the moment she eat the cake.

I can't help but asked, "Why are you crying?"

She wipe her tears away, "This cake is delicious"

"Shinya, are you there?"

After witnessing her enjoy the cake, suddenly a familiar silhouette and voice knock into my big window, my room is actually besides the entrance of our home.

I stand up as I opened the window seeing Ken outside wearing his favorite pair of clothes. The black and white design blazer is his favorite.

"Ken-kun" I mumbled his name and somehow I saw Emma staring at him

"You wanted to watch this, here you go" he handed me the DVD of the movie I want to watch

"Also, have you said your goodbye to Yuzuha" he continued

I nodded, "Hm, she also said hi to you, Ken-kun"

"Are you okay?" He asked me just to be sure

"Hm, I give her a proper goodbye" I muttered

Ken's eyes shifted to Emma, "Ah, Sorry, you have a friend over?, Hello!"

Emma then made a smile and said, "Ah! Hello"

"She just moved today, Sano Emma, were the same age" I said introducing Emma to Ken

"I'm Ryuguji Ken" Ken introduced himself

Emma stands up, "Nice to meet you!"

"Where do you study Sano-san?" Ken asked Emma

"Toman Gakuen" Emma answered Ken-kun

"Ah! The same school with us" Ken claimed rejoicing with a little joy

"Oh!" Emma look surprised for a bit

"Well, it was nice meeting you" Ken muttered

Emma only sigh and sat down.

"Shinya, I'm glad that you could make a new friend, Later!" Ken had said

"Hm, thank you for the DVD again" I said before closing the window

I sat down, "C-can I be f-friends with you Emma?" I asked

She drink the tea before answering me, "Aren't we friends already?"

I smiled at her, "Hm, we're friends"

The day my friend left, I was able to make a new one. I found a lot about her, Although we are opposites for everything, it is fun to be with her.

"Is he your boyfriend?" She asked me about Ken

I denied, "N-no, he was just my childhood bestfriend" I told her the truth

"But his nice and it's normal" she said

I gazes upon my bookshelf full of shoujo manga, "I am looking for love like in fairy tales, I'm actually waiting for a prince that will love me the way I am" I said looking at my reflection on the tea cup

"Will you just going to wait, you won't do anything about it" she replied

"I sort of had my first love during middle school and I kind of had that feeling until now..... But....They don't exist" I shrug

"What do you mean by that?" She look confused in some ways

I get up and went to find my favorite book and showed it to her.

"I had fallen in love with the prince, and I'm looking for someone who's like the prince that will fall in love at me" I said pretty embarrassed, and I think she get what I meant by that

She handed me a coupon, "This is where I work, you'll find a lot of handsome guys in here so take your time and visit for a while"

I accepted the coupon but I might just go there to visit her

"I actually have a boyfriend, were long distance so we meet rarely" she opened up

She showed me her boyfriend's picture together with her.

She had a boyfriend and yet call other people handsome. But she really look happy as I see her genuine smile while she look at her boyfriend's face. 

She is different from me in many ways, but somehow it's fun

Later on she received a text and her emotion shifted.

"I got to go Shinya, seems like my Mother had arrived" she looked unhappy about it but she cover it up with a smile

"Hm, meet you tomorrow" I said and showed her outside

I was surprised to see that she lived next door.

"Thank you for the food!" I murmured, get my plate, spoon, and cup to wash

"Let me do it Shinya, you should go now" Mom represented

I kiss her on the cheek, "Thank you Mom"

Dad left earlier.

I get my bag and wear my shoes as I get in the elevator and meet Emma outside the apartment.

"Did I make you wait for long?" I asked her

"No, I just got here too" that wasn't a lie

We reach the school but before we go in to our classroom we had to look at our assigned class for this year, I was looking for my name and finally saw it.

"We're on the same class" Ken-kun mumbled

"There is only 5 classes, and we got class 4" Emma muttered pointing at our class

"That's nice" I mumbled

On our way to our classroom, Ken met his friend Mitsuya Takashi our old classmate since middle school.

"We're classmates again Ryuguji!" Takashi fist bump with Ken as they enter the hallway

Today is a new beginning for all of us. It's our first year of senior high school and many of us are nervous about this including me.

"Don't you think being in the same class as Ryuguji fate?" Emma grinned a smile

"No...no..no" I declined gesturing an x in my hand

"But isn't he a great candidate for your prince charming, I mean his the only guy you talk to the normal way and his your childhood best buddy" Emma put all the good points of Ken together

"That's not i—t..."

As I glances over somewhere else. It's like flowers have fully bloomed flying all over the place as I've seen that prince once again.

"Shinya???"

I can't take off my eyes of him when Emma finally move over so that I could notice her. She's been calling me dozens of time but I was distracted.

I squeeze over her and push him a bit so that he could see the prince.

"That's him, the guy that look like my prince" I mumbled silently

Then his eyes suddenly fall in us. So I quickly turn over and I only see Emma's reaction she was laughing at me.

"What's so funny about it?" I asked her being so innocent

She can't stop laughing and I was just pouting. When suddenly....

"Emma, you forgot your lunch Mom wanted me to give you this" it was the prince

He was holding the bento box wrapped with red handkerchief. Emma slowly reach for that and made a indifferent smile.

"Thank you" she only muttered

The prince eyes drop on me and I think he remembers something.

"Poo—"

My face turns red, "please don't say anything else, that's embarrassing!!!" I pleaded making a bow

"Oh that's right, his name is Manjiro Sano my little brother, and right in front of you is my friend Shinya Suou" Emma made the introduction for us

"So your name is Shinya" he smiled

It wasn't so long since we parted our ways. We're on the same age but we don't have the same class.

On our way to our classroom Emma keeps saying things related to Sano

"I didn't expect Manjiro to be the person you were looking for"

She was laughing at me, but also she was happy.

"Don't tease me that much! It's embarrassing..." I shyly said at her

But she still can't stop laughing until we reach our classroom.

"What did you like about him?"

"I don't clearly know, but when I first saw him on that day, I was enchanted" I was recalling memories from when I first saw Sano

We sat down to our sits.

"I wouldn't doubt about you liking him, He recieve so many love letters, Manjiro is known to the girls" Emma muttered and crept a smile

"I was surprised you were related" I mentioned and suddenly her gazes is a bit unusual

"Haha! It just did!" she laugh it off

The sensei then arrived. The class started, and we were quiet the whole time.

I was able to focus in class despite that I'm a bit worried about Emma.

I got the feeling something isn't right about her.

What kind of family does a Sano have?
