8 You Want to be My Girlfriend?

In the changing room, Elena tried to calm herself down. She was so immersed in the act that she even surprised herself. She smiled at herself in the mirror and began removing her makeup.

As she was removing her eye makeup she heard the door open.

She didn't want Mila to worry about her, so she smiled and asked, "How was my acting? Were you surprised too?"

She felt two hands rest against the back of her chair, and a man's deep voice replied, "I wasn't surprised."

Elena immediately took off the makeup remover wipes and stared at the man behind her through the mirror. His eyes were filled with amusement as he looked at the woman sitting in front of him. She looked natural and innocent, her face removed from all traces of any makeup.

In the entertainment industry, few female idols had the courage to walk around without any makeup on, especially in public.

The man stood up straight, pulled the seat next to her out, and sat down.

"Elena, you're acting was amazing," Mila exclaimed as she walked into the makeup room.

Both the man and Elena turned to look at the door, and Mila froze in place. She raised her eyebrows as she inspected the man, then she nodded. She immediately turned around and left.

The man looked at Elena as if he was expecting Elena to say something first.

Elena recognized this man, he had rejected her on her first night in Jin Province. "Hello?"

The man leaned back in his chair, waiting for Elena to say something else.

Elena wasn't in the mood to guess around, and she stood up, "Hello, Mr. Lu. It seems like you have very important business here so I'm gonna get going."

As she turned around to leave, Mr. Lu grabbed her wrist and pulled her back down into her seat.

"Who told you you could leave?"

Elena laughed and asked, "So now I need permission to leave?"

Lu Chenjun looked up at Elena with his cold eyes and she avoided his gaze.

Finally, Lu Chenjun explained what he came for, "Jin Yinghui, 23 years old. Had some small fame in Korea. Born and raised in the Jin Province, but has no fame here at all. You need someone to help you here."

Elena scratched her head as she said, "So you basically know everything about me now. Impressive, Mr. Lu. Now can you just tell me what you want? I believe that Mr. Lu isn't someone that likes to waste time."

Lu Chenjun leaned in, resting his elbow on his knee, "You want to be my girlfriend?"

Elena looked at him in shock for a few seconds before replying, "What if I said I don't want to?"

Although Elena had tried to attract his attention during the party, she had thought that Lu Chenjun wouldn't bother to even know who she was. She knew that she needed someone to help her, but she didn't know if Lu Chenjun would be the right choice.

Lu Chenjun's face had turned black as he said, "You don't want to? Even the most successful people in the entertainment industry are fighting for a chance to be my girlfriend, yet you are here saying you don't want to?"

Elena smiled and said, "Give me some time to think."

She grabbed her purse and quickly escaped. As she was leaving, Su Yan walked in. Her eyes lit up as she located Lu Chenjun.

"Here you are. Mr. Lu, I heard people saying you came to look for me. I have one more scene to film, do you want to go eat after."

Lu Chenjun was in a bad mood, and after looking at Su Yan's ugly face in comparison to Jin Yinghui, his mood got even worse. He had been dating Su Yan for a little less than one week, and he had thought that her looks were considered decent in the entertainment industry.

However, after meeting Jin Yinghui, looking at Su Yan made him feel disgusted.

"Let's break up, I don't want to see you again."

Before Su Yan could process this information and reply, Lu Chenjun had already left the room. Su Yan turned around and tried chasing Lu Chenjun. However, his long legs were too fast for her, and he had already entered his car.

Su Yan's surprise quickly turned to anger, as she remembered seeing Jin Yinghui leave when she entered the room. What did that woman tell Lu Chenjun? Lu Chenjun had just taken her to a top tier restaurant yesterday, and today, he wanted to break up with her. Su Yan had always known that Lu Chenjun wouldn't date her over two weeks, but they hadn't even "dated" for one week yet.

Su Yan clenched her fists together in anger as she went back into the room to film her last scene.

Elena sat on the couch in her apartment room, munching on some potato chips. She had bought a bunch of snacks in celebration for finally acting a single scene right. Mila was packing everything back into the suitcase as they were moving to the apartment tomorrow.

"Elena, what did Lu Chenjun want from you? Did you offend him during the party that night?"

Elena thought about it, before answering, "Do you think Lu Chenjun is some sociopath or psychopath?"

Mila looked up and dropped the items she was arranging, "Did he do something weird? But that wouldn't make sense. He is the CEO of the LIQuan Company, there is no way he would have mental issues. What did he tell you?"

Elena reached into the chip bag again to find that it was empty, "He asked me to be his girlfriend?"

Mila gasped and snatched the chip bag from Elena. She sat down next to Elena and said in amazement, "His girlfriend? Did you say yes?"

Elena glared at Mila, "You think I am that type of person?"

Mila laughed and said, "Maybe."

Elena stood up and grabbed the chip bag back before throwing it into the trash can.

"Should I say yes? I mean, he would definitely help me a lot in the industry."

Mila thought about it before responding, "I mean, I heard that Lu Chenjun has never dated the same girl for over two weeks. He has had many rumors with different famous people, and those people's popularity rose greatly due to these rumors. You know, a few days ago, it was revealed that he was dating Su Yan."

Elena turned her head in amazement, "Su Yan? No way."

Mila nodded, "I think that's partially why she was so arrogant, she didn't even respect the director. But if Lu Chenjun asked you to be his girlfriend, does that mean they broke up already? It hasn't even been five days since the news came out."

Elena laughed loudly. "Mila, how about I just agree to be his girlfriend? This is a win-win situation. Lu Chenjun isn't losing anything, and we will just break up in less than two weeks. My fame will increase and I can make Su Yan mad. After two weeks, we can just go our separate ways and everything will just go back to normal."

Mila shrugged, "This is your decision. I don't think it will be too bad. But remember, he will be your first love."

Elena sat back down, "What do you mean first love? If I don't even love him, how will this be considered my first love? I don't care anyway. I already gave away so much for becoming famous, this isn't even that bad. How can I reach him?"

"How would I know? You should be able to know this. Whatever, I'm going to go make dumplings. Do you want any?"

Elena grabbed her phone before lying down on her back, "Sure. I don't have any scenes tomorrow right? Does that mean I don't have to go on set?"

"No, we have to move to our new apartment tomorrow."

The next morning, Elena slept in till 10 A.M. Not until Mila came knocking at her door did she finally wake up. They spent their whole morning preparing to move. They signed out of their hotel room and carried all their luggage to the new apartment room.

The room wasn't far away and it was pretty big. There were two bedrooms and a living room. The kitchen was located in the living room, and a restroom connected the two bedrooms together.

After they settled in, Elena slept for another hour. When she woke up, it was already three in the afternoon.

She found Mila watching TV in the living room and she asked, "Do you want to go to the LIQuan Company with me today? I want to go find Lu Chenjun."

"Sure, we can go get some groceries to fill up our fridge on the way."

They left and in 20 minutes, they were standing in front of the huge LIQuan Company building.
