2 Chapter 3

"Why are you laughing?" I looked at Arvind seriously.

" So you framed my friend as a devil and an arrogant man" he laughed again.

"Not exactly. But he is unpredictable" I replied.

Then I explained what happened between us from the beginning to Arvind Anna( brother).

"His mother's health condition was not good. So he canceled all his appointments and hurriedly went to the hospital. He informed me on the phone but it was my mistake to forget to tell you" Arvind said.

" Oh my God. Unnecessarily I yelled on him." I said with guilty.

" I did a mistake. I have to apologize to him." I said.

" It's okay. He is not that bad. He didn't ask me to fire you from the job but he appreciates you that how confidently to express your feelings on the face" Arvind informed me.

Really this person is unpredictable, I thought.

"Shall I drop you at the hostel?" he asked me.

Few of our colleagues don't like me as Arvind treats me well. Nowadays, they were gossiping about our relationship in a bad way. So I told them I have to meet someone and tell him to go.

" Is there anything bothering you?" he asked me.

" Nothing " I denied.

" Tell me what is bothering you? I can read your face" he asked.

" I don't want to be a topic of gossip in our office. So…" I replied.

" Okay, I can understand. But for the sake of others, we should not suppress our feelings. We should live for ourselves. I respect your dignity so I am leaving now" he left.

Yes, Whatever, Anna said is true but the world around is different from others. I am alone in my world where there is no person to share my pain or my happiness.

When I was in our hometown, I used to hang out with my friends but now it is quite different, New people, a new city. I was missing Vamshi and Shreya so much.

While going to my hostel I made a call to them and we talk with each on a conference call. Vamshi was excited as he is going to the US on office work ànd he was staying there for six months. I congratulated him on his success. We talk about random things for some time. I felt happy to listen to their voice.

I was getting bored with my routine lifestyle, office, and hostel. Here there are no friends and also I am not the easy person to mingle with others.  With so many thoughts in mind, I completed my dinner and went to my room.

I closed my eyes, Karthik face is flashing in front of me. The way he looked at me in the morning and how I hold him on the lift. He was really handsome with a shaved jawline not less than any filmstar. I never thought about any guy in my entire life. I brushed all his thoughts immediately as I know where it will be going lead me. I closed my eyes mumbling I am an orphan. I should not have the right to dream like normal people. I don't know when I drifted into a deep sleep.

The next morning I woke up with the buzzing sound of the alarm. I stopped the alarm with irritation as I want to sleep some more time. Yesterday I cannot sleep peacefully. I was turning and tossing on the bed. I closed my eyes to sleep for some morue time. But I got a call from Arvind that I have to meet Karthik to inform you about event arrangements. I had a plan on how to organize, how to arrange but I didn't put in the hardcopy. Without wasting time, I sat on my bed and started writing how the event starts, what type of material was used for decoration, how to receive the guest, what kind of food items to served, prepared and other small things...

       I reached Mr. Karthik's office at the exact time of the appointment. I was waiting for him in his lounge. I stood up to wish him but he gave an angry look at me.

I didn't understand why he gave an angry glare at me?

Is he a human? I doubted.

At least he can smile at me but no. Then I remembered our last encounter in his cabin.

I decided to convey my apology as I talk with him rudely without knowing the truth. I slowly took steps towards his cabin as the receptionist informed me to meet him.

"Good morning sir" I greeted him.

" hmmm.  So you understood how to behave with clients?" he asked.

" I don't know that your mother's health is not good and it was an emergency. Arvind told me everything. I am sorry" I apologized.

My heartfelt relief after confessing my apology.

" okay. Did you plan everything for the event? Can you explain?" he asked in a cold voice.

I showed all the event plans and I explained why I chose it. As I have good ability in vocabulary and speaking it was easy to conceive the clients, he listened to each and every word.

" Good. But I want to change the menu list of food as per my choice" he informed.

I quickly noted the changes he made. I didn't like whatever changes he made but it is his event and he has every right to change according to his wish.

" Okay sir, I will leave," I said and stood up from the chair.

" Wait" he called me.

" Yes, sir. Any more changes? " I asked with a worried expression.

" Don't be panic. Have a coffee with me and then leave" he said as order.

" if my friend treats you as a sister. I should also respect you" he smiled.

The first time, in these three meetings, I saw him smiling. He looks devilishly handsome. I could not roll away from my eyes and stopped to blink my eyes seeing him like that.

" Are you there?" He asked me.

" hmmm. Yes sir. I will have coffee with you" I replied.

He ordered two coffees through his intercom.

We had a talk about my job experience. In our conversation, I came to know that he was handling his business while he was studying to help his mother. But I didn't understand why?

I took leave from him after a few minutes and went to our office.
