Heartache at the lake part 1/5

As the boys left Brian's bedroom and entered the living room once again, they were both wearing swim trunks; Brian's was light blue while Pete's wore a red one.

They were also wearing plain white t-shirts. Because it was Brian's cloth, they were a bit tight on Pete, and so his muscles and abbs were very eye-catching.

Lexy was the only one present in the living room as Bash was still changing in his car.

She looks at them with an annoyed expression; it seems they took longer than they should have, not to mention Bash wasn't back yet. "Wasn't she supposed to be the girls here!"

Brian could tell his friend wasn't happy about the waiting, so he kept quiet. The youth knew she had quite the temper.

This beauty possesses many qualities; however, patience is certainly not included in the list.

Pete, on the other hand, doesn't seem to get the memo. He smiles awkwardly at her and tries to lighten the mood with a joke.

"Princess, if you keep frowning like that, you'll get wrinkles."

He made a face of disgust as he made his little joke.

Instantly, Brian rolls his eyes and tries not to think about the likeliness of that happening. "As if that unholy goddess could possibly get such a thing."

"Please, that witch would probably outlive them all before getting wrinkles.

"Poor Pete, he is hot as he is thick. Can he read the room?"

"Jocks!

Lexy, who was already annoyed by these stupid boys' delay, with that fiery temper of hers and the fact that it was like forty degrees, responded with a big bright fake smile.

This action anchorages Pete to smile with satisfaction as he guessed his joke had worked. On the other hand, Brian knew otherwise and just when he was about to warn his lov—" friend.

Lexy's strong, unexpected punch took the youth by surprise. Striking right on his left shoulder makes Pete lose his valence and take Brian, who unfortunately was standing next to him, along for the ride...or in this case, the fall.

The girl didn't expect her punch to be that powerful, as to make the man fall, and she felt bad for Bri, of course, but she decided to ignore them altogether. "That'll teach them together on her nerve."

On the floor, the boys landed on top of each other. Bryan was on the bottom, softening Pete's fall while the other rested on him shamelessly.

Their laughter echoed throughout the room for minutes on end. Finally, little by little, their laughter started to die down as their bodies commence to betray them.

Then an awkward silence began.

Their bodies somehow lie perfectly intertwined, as if they were made for one another.

Brian's messy white locks were all over his face hiding his beautiful sleepy eyes.

Pete smiles warmly at the site and uses his right hand to brush them aside.

Brian holds his breath and let's go; the moment Pete's gentle touch lay on his cheek, goosebumps erupt all throughout his body.

They both swallow hard, and as their Adam's apple shifts, once again, they lock eyes like they had done the previous night; their body heat overflows with their closeness, and their hearts quicken with profound nervousness and something else Brian can't put into words.

Bri goes into overdrive as confusion overtakes his mind.

"What is this weird feeling? It was like nothing he had experienced before; the youth couldn't even describe it.

What does it mean? He couldn't possibly know. After all, minutes ago, he was closing the door on Pete forever and now... Now he didn't know.

"What about Bash?"

He was in love with Sebastian that he knew with complete certainty. On the other hand, these feelings for Pete were something unexpected, something else entirely.

As the questions without answers flooded Brian's mind, the youth realized that maybe the night before had meant more than he had time to process.

Pete, on the other hand, was in utter dismay as he gazed upon his new "friend."

In this instant, the man knew his heart was no longer his. It now entirely belongs to Bri.

Being this close to the other man, he knew it would take a profound amount of time for him to move on, forget the night before and the feeling that came along with it.

How he which for Bri to feel the same, however, he did not.

Nevertheless, he would try his best to be a good friend.

He broke the spell and got up to his feet on that note and stented his right hand for Brian to take.

With mixed feelings, Briand took the hand and smiled at him without even realizing it.

"The princess isn't as delicate as she seems. Prince charming is sure going to have it bad."

Brian nods his answer because he has lost the ability to speak.

Lexy was too annoyed even to respond, and 'cause she had been ignoring them, she did not see anything out of the ordinary; however, Bash had seen the whole ordeal. If he wasn't jealous or suspected anything before, he definitely did now.

Finally, your back! For the love of God, what took you so long?

The moment she saw her brother Lexy complained her heart's content.

"That stupid friend of yours was about to drive me insane."

Pete rolls his eyes and sticks out his tongue.

Brian only smiles. He knew they really care for each other.

Bash suppressed his feelings and responded to his overly annoyed sister.

'Emma called she uh..

The moment the name 'Emma came out of his mouth, Lexy Knew this was going to be bad news.

"She what? Out with it!

Bash smiles bitterly, Brian swallows hard, and Pete barely reacts.

'Well, I don't think your going to like this, but I kind of told her about the lake, and long story short, she's coming with us.'

Everyone was speechless, especially Brian. He didn't know what to feel at this point.

Pete was a bit glad about "crazy there; Bash was going to have his hands fall. He could spend more time with Bri, it was selfish of him to think that way, but he couldn't help it.

On the other hand, Lexy was about to explode, but before she could, Bash spoke again.

"Anyway, she's bringing a friend, so relax, it's going to be fine! "She not that bad.

Not that bad! Did you forget what she did to me!"

Brian didn't know what Emma had done, but it must've been something major for Lexy to hate her that much.

Pete looks away. He knew what that crazy bitch had done, and to this day, he still doesn't understand why Bash and she got back together.

"You know what? Bring your crazy ass girlfriend! Bring the freaking Pope if you want; I don't care anymore."

Bash felt terrible, but Emma was still his girlfriend, so he had no choice.

"Lex I--

"Don't, just don't."

She then took Brian by the hand and left for the car without even glancing back.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pete sighed hard, "brother".

Bash just stood there like a lost poppy.

A minute later, Pete puts an arm around Sebastian's neck.

"Come on, bro, before the princess leaves us behind."

Bash just looks at him.

"Yeah, whatever."

The cold attitude throws the youth for a loop.

"Dude, Are you ok; I know she was harsh, but can you blame her?"

"I don't, and I'm fine, don't worry about it."

"By the way, you and Bri seemed real close all of a sudden. What exactly did you guys do yesterday?"

Pete looks right into his friend's eyes for an intense moment.

"What's with the inquisition?"

Bash takes Pete's arm off of him.

"Not an inquisition, just curious after all. You hardly know him."

"I could say the same thing about you."

The room starts to get cold for some unknown reason, as they both challenge each other with their gaze; finally, Pete responds.

"But As I said earlier, we went out, got drunk, and came back home."

"Let's go. Lexy is waiting."

Pete spoke with a normal tone. However, the words that came out sounded different and harsher than his usual care fee self.

Bash notices this, especially since his best friend never calls his sister by her name.
