Chapter 3

The mystery behind Trewlaney's collapse was yet to be solved. Many students had wondered about how it happened, whether she was intoxicated, over-focusing on her staring methods or just exhausted.

The next day, Trelawney was hospitalised at St Mungo's, feeling even worse than before. Her bags turned a darker shade of purple and she seemed to hallucinate 'with the visions of the past, present and future'. Every once in a while, as if she was waking up from a nightmare, she gasped,

"Oh! The visions to come! I must prepare!" And then fell into a deep slumber.

Minerva McGonagall and Poppy Pomfrey monitored her for any new symptoms or any new diagnoses to cure her.

The staff gathered in the staff room, shortly after Trelawney's hospitalisation, concerned and unsure on how Trelawney ended up in this predicament.

"I reckon it was a student. Out of bed!" exclaimed Argus Filch, the caretaker of the school.

"Of course it was a student, you blithering idiot!" remarked Mcgonagall, who was absolutely certain that a student had caused this mishap.

"Well... She could have... fallen sick on her own accord," mused Snape. "It's not impossible."

"Snape could be right. As Trelawney has suffered from extreme fatigue and hallucinations, it is most likely that she has caught some illness herself." Pomfrey commented. Since she is the school nurse, her diagnosis was agreed upon by the staff members.

"Well... We still need to interrogate students!" Filch remarked. His comment was untimely, therefore Snape spoke nonchalantly,

"Hush, Filch. We have the diagnosis from the master herself." he nodded in Madam Pomfrey's direction, which she was very pleased by.

Although the thought of interrogation was ultimately ignored, Mcgonagall said quietly,

"We should interrogate the students. Some of them are known for making trouble."

"I'm glad someone agrees," Filch muttered sarcastically.

Pomfrey then said firmly, "Ok. We have a plan. To figure out Trelawney's diagnosis as soon as possible, begin interrogating students on the matter," nodding in Filch's direction, "And continuing classes as usual, without the collapsing teachers."

"Meeting adjourned," McGonagall said. The staff nodded unanimously and the discussion was finished.
