Seoul, Year 2021

"Jae Hee! Get your lazy self up. Time for school" Mrs Lee yelled at Jae Hee while to wake her up.

Meanwhile,

Groan!

"I don't wanna wake up yet. Can't I just skip? After all it's my first day. I was busy throughout yesterday. I need a break", Jae Hee grumbled. She drifted back to sleep.

Ten minutes later,

Spank!

" Ouch! Mom, what the butt!" she cursed still groaning in pain.

"Would you get your lazy ass up and ready?" Mrs Lee exclaimed still spanking her.

"Mom! It's hurts", she cried in pains while rubbing the spot she got spanked, " Why are you being like this? It's my first day of school not my graduation day so keep chill, uh?" she got down from bed.

"Aigoo! Are you really my daughter? I might have been run down by a lunatic before giving birth to you. I think that's the only reason why you are acting like one. I mean look at your room, are you a pig? Wah! I've been living with a pig", Mrs Lee could only sigh in disappointment.

" Mom, are you really my mother? You keep on scolding me every time without asking my side of the story. I was busy that I didn't schedule my time for room arrangement ", She defended herself.

Sigh! Mrs Lee heaved another sigh, " I'm not in for your tantrums, just get ready for school and come down for breakfast ", she said while leaving the room.

Jae Hee watched the door close with a sneer on her face, ' All she knows how to do is yell, mother indeed' she scoffed.

Moving to changing mirror, she let out a gasp. " Who's this? Is this really me? I look like a freak. No wonder she called me a lunatic, I look like one. What should I do?" she cried out, "I should shower first. I smell like a dead fish", she said while sniffing her body.

After a long long and long shower, she heaved a sigh of relief, " Much better"

After putting on her school uniform, she fixed her hair and makeup before checking herself out in the mirror, "I look meee", she let out a light squeal. She exited her room.

She went downstairs for breakfast, " Mom, what did you prepare? Oh! Pancakes with honey! My favourite ", she squealed before taking a huge bite.

" You had better watch your weight or you won't find yourself a boyfriend, Food Munger", her mother teased her.

Still eating she replied, "Mom, don't worry. Sooner or later, boys will trample before me begging me to date them but not now maybe after school. I can't believe you of all is lecturing about having a boyfriend instead of facing my studies. Some mom you are", she scoffed.

" It's not that with all the advice, you will bring in a good result, dullard. Don't think too high of yourself and get going. You're already late", Mrs Lee said giving her a get going signal.

After breakfast, she grabbed her school bag then kissed her mom goodbye before heading out.

Seoul International School

Jae Hee isn't used to new faces yet as she is just a transfer student. She felt a little awkward as she felt some intense gazes looking at her.

'What's wrong with students of nowadays? They stare at you as if you were made from a platter of gold. I can never understand people', she thought to herself as she shook her head.

Suddenly, she was cornered by two boys.

"Hello beautiful!" The first boy flirted, "you are looking radiant today. Though I haven't seen you before, are you new around here?" he asked as he ran his hand through his hair.

Jae Hee looked so pissed off but she acted cool as she kindly replied, "I just got transferred to this school".

He only chuckled, " Then you must have heard about me...you know before transferring here", he stuttered for a moment when he saw Jae Hee's dumb expression, "My name is Kim Beum. The golden star of Seoul International School", He boasted.

Before giving him a reply, Jae Hee studied him from head to toe, 'Looking at him, someone could tell that he's a dumb ass. Golden star my foot', she cursed before laying her attention to the second boy behind Kim Beum, 'Surely, this one is the dummy's entourage. What a waste!' she said to herself before heaving a sigh.

" Nice to meet you, Mr Kim Beum but can please move away as you can see I was heading to class... "she was cut off by the other boy, " How dare you talk to him that way? Do you know who he is?" He yelled at her, but before he could proceed, a paper jet hit him on the head, he winced in pain.

"Who did that?" Kim Beum protested.

"Yah! Kim Beum! Stop pestering girls everywhere. If you think you are really cool why don't get yourself a girlfriend and leave girls alone", a voice from behind spoke.

" We would be meeting again, beautiful ", he said as he trailed off with his entourage.

Jae Hee sighed for the last time, " Breads for brain", she cursed inwardly.

"Did they disturb you? " a girl voice said to her as she patted her shoulder.

Jae Hee only chuckled, "A little but thanks to you, they didn't bother me again".

" No problem. You're new around here. What's your name?" the girl asked.

"Lee Jae Hee!"

"Nice to meet you. I'm Kim Yoona. The boy you came across is my twin brother. He's the worst. I suggest to stay clear of him", Kim Yoona said.

" Oh don't worry I think I'm cool", Jae Hee hurriedly said as both of them laughed it off.

"Em... sorry to waste your time but I don't know where my locker is located. Locker 561? Could you please show me?" she begged.

"You're just in luck. My locker is beside your locker. Locker 562! I was just heading there. Come on let's go", Yoona replied as she held Jae Hee's hand.

" There it is, locker 561", Yoona said as she pointed to the locker.

"Thanks", Jae Hee appreciated as she opened the locker but her surprise, an envelope fell on the floor when she opened her locker. Confused she picked it up, she tore off the envelope to see what's inside. It was a letter. She opened it to read the content. She let out a huge gasp as she was in shock.

Worried, Yoona asked, " what's wrong?"

Jae Hee gave her the letter to read. Yoona collected the letter from, she also let out a gasp, "What!"
