"I'll see you later mate, take it easy!" He shouted to his friend who was walking off home hand in hand with the girl besides him, a soft sigh escaped his lips as he watched them walk off - they had something he thought he'd never have; a broken heart in a heartless world, how fitting was that? But he watched as all his friends walked off into relationships -into love, regardless of how they ended.
He'd seen heartbreak, and heartache, unconditonal love and love turn to despise.. But why? He couldn't understand - he'd once found that girl he'd wish he'd held onto, 16 years old when they met and yet foolish enough to let her go out of his grasp, young enough to think it an innocent mistake, two years later still regretting that feeling as he saw her walk off with another man into the distance as tears streaked his face...
It sounded sappy, annoying and slightly edgy but it was true - all he yearned for was that one person he could love unconditionally, he didn't want perfect; far from it, he wanted someone he could laugh with and love with, but he didn't want someone who was perfect - because perfect doesn't exist, perfect is different. One mans perfect is another mans nothing, he just wanted someone who he could love and loved him back yet such a person was hard to find, near impossible at that...
"I'd better get home.." He thought to himself, with that he started walking - putting in his earbuds he turned on his playlist and walked down the road, ignoring the soft flirtatious laughter echoing down the street..
"Jack you're home!" His younger brother ran up to the door, like any four year old he ran around without a care in the world..
...
"Bang!"
His school bag hit the floor, the daily reminder from his mother to be more careful was late today - coming three minutes after he'd thrown the bag rather than straight after like usual.
"Mmm just another day, another boring and stupid game..." Jack mumbled to himself whilst scrolling through his phone, going from online forum to online forum without really checking what was written on each page...
"Tch, nothing interesting like usual; Webnovel it is I guess. I think The Nine Cauldrons finally got updated, should be an interesting read.. hopefully the release rate remains the same as it did in the past.." He grumbled, obviously disatisfied although pleased to have an update after so long had passed.
[You have 1 New Message!]
The sudden notification startled Jack, it wasn't unusual to get chat notifications from chat groups he was currently in but it was a rarity for him to recieve a direct message, his inbox was almost clear of conversations in this regard... "Interesting... Probably another troll but it won't hurt to see I guess." He thought to himself before clicking the notifications which directed him onto the app, to his surprise it wasn't what he was expecting that's for sure...
[Procrastinating4Fun]: "Hi, I'm Alice, Nice to meet you! :)"
510 Words, but this suits the prologue in my opinion - thanks for reading! I'll be commenting the amount of words each chapter has for the future just for convinence in case chapter length suddenly increases. Of course as the prologue 510 words is a suitable length in my own opinion.
See you tomorrow!
