10 Got Dumped.

"Let me walk with you."

The blue masked men forcibly walked with me.

"Do as you please."

I tried walking ahead of him but failing to do so.

"There you are. We've been looking all over for you guys."

Rebecca sounded while walking towards us with the man in a charcoal suit.

Finally, relief washed over me seeing her so I quickly ran and hugged her.

"I'm right here, I ain't going away." She joked and hugged me back.

I laughed back at her and so the two of us left the two men.

"Bye." We both sweetly said to them while waving our hands.

The two men were left dumbfounded and stood still staring at the girls back.

"Think we just got dumped."

"Seems so." The blue masked man agreed and they themselves walked away.

The man upstairs was amused at the scene and he felt as if a heavyweight had been lifted off his chest.

He proudly looked at the beautiful women in blue walking away from those two men before joining in another long, boring conversation.

"So how was it?" Rebecca asked me while hooking her right arm with mine.

"How was what?"

"Him."

"He was...not my type."

"So was mine. Complete rude and infuriating but also very attractive."

She said changing her expression with each word.

We giggled and paced around the hall.

As we walked past, there were different groups having different conversations.

Group of men discussing their business, aiming for their next big business partner.

Group of ladies gossiping about their latest designer dresses, jewelry, and bags. Each of them competing against the other.

I would've very much liked to meet several of the famous actors and actresses present here but finding them among all these masked people would be close to impossible so I dropped that thought.

"Should we go home now?"

I asked Rebecca.

"Yeah sure. It's getting a bit boring here anyway."

She answered.

We headed towards the exit door but just at that moment someone crashed into me and we both ended up on the floor.

"I'm so sorry."

"Watch where you're going, bitch."

A blonde girl sneered, towering over me, while the redhead helped the brunette up on her feet.

"Who are you calling a bitch? It's your friend who stupidly left her eyes at home!" Rebecca sneered back as she helped me up.

"Becca don't. Let's just leave."

"You too Candice. It was my fault."

The tall brunette said to her friend and to which she backed off.

"I'm truly sorry, my friend didn't mean to insult you." The brunette said with her angelic voice.

"It's alright, I'm sorry too."

I replied back, I mean who could stay angry at that voice and she seemed sincere which was quite uncommon.

Her dress alone looked like it would cost arms and legs, she must be one of the rich socialite ladies and so I decided to back off myself.

"Let's go girls." The brunette said to the two girls and they followed behind but not before the redhead left a remark.

"It seems the stray dogs are here to latch onto some big thigh."

The read head snickered along with the blondie, both giving us their mocking grin.

"Be nice you two"

I could hear the brunette say to them before they disappeared into the sea of crowds.

"They are just some spoilt brats," Rebecca complained beside me as she tried holding back her anger.

"May I please have your attention." A man's voice suddenly came from the stage. Everyone quickly stopped what they were doing and focused their attention on the spokesperson.

"Our host will like to give a short speech tonight." The man spoke.

Everyone in the room quickly moved forward towards the stage, eager to meet tonight's host. The ladies giggled among themselves and pushed in front of the crowd to get a better view.

"Let's leave after his speech."

"Sure," I answered back. We stood at the very back of the crowd as we waited for the host to come up on stage.

Soon a tall man wearing a heavily expensive navy coloured suit walked on stage.

He slowly went to the center of the stage and took the mic.

He took his mask off to reveal his face, which was what everyone had been anticipating for.

The whole room went quiet and the girls melted at his extremely good looks

"Sky Roosevelt" son of the royal duke stood tall and proud before he proceeded to speak.

"First of all, thank you all for being here. You Have my gratitude."

"I'll keep it short. The main reason for this ball was not only to celebrate our success within these last two years but also to introduce our brains behind it all. He not only single-handedly designed those award-winning dresses and bags but he is also the mastermind behind our huge success."

"The reason for today's masquerade ball is so that we can embrace our hidden identity and now it's time to get unmasked."

"I would like to invite my best friend on stage. Our true CEO."

Sky finished off his little speech with a satisfied smile.
