2 Casanova

CHAPTER II: Casanova

Today is the day. It's our first anniversary. Earlier, I woke up feeling quite uneasy without knowing why.

I honestly don't know what to feel.

I'm having a bad feeling about what might happen today. Instead of excitement, I felt scared.

I sighed.

"Okay Blaire, deep breaths. Think positive. Everything will be fine." I murmured to myself.

Just when I was about to walk, my phone beeped. So I stopped for a moment and took my phone out. There I saw a text message.

'Let's meet at the academy's quadrangle before going to classes.'

Oh, it's from Audrey.

My heart leaped out of joy and the thought of us meeting for our anniversary. Maybe, he prepared a surprise for me or we'll cut classes just to go on a date.

Just by the thought of it makes me thrilled. So, I quickly hailed myself a cab.

If you're wondering why I rode a cab and not with my brother's car, it's because their department has an assembly today and he needs to be early as hell. And that's why I ended up all alone on my way to the academy.

---

I just arrived at the quadrangle and to my surprise, there's a whole lot of people here and nearly filling up the whole space.

"Excuse me, why are there so many people here? Is there an assembly?" I asked a girl beside me.

When she turned to me, her eyes widen with shock written on her face. She didn't answer my question. Instead, she turned to the girl beside me and whispered, "She's the girl. She's here." I'm not even sure if it was a whisper because I can clearly hear what she's saying.

The air was filled with voices.

I heard them saying, "She's here", "She's at the back", "The girl is here" over and over again.

Why? What's the matter if I'm here? Have I done something wrong?

The people here parted just enough for a person to walk through.

Just when I was about to move sideways, someone signaled me to go to the middle.

I pointed at myself while mouthing 'me?' because I'm not sure if he's referring to me. To my surprise, he nodded as a sign of yes.

Embarrassed, I walked with my head down towards the middle. I stopped walking when I bumped into a firm wall.

Wait, a wall? In the middle of the quadrangle?

I looked up and there I saw Audrey with his brows shot up and annoyance was visible on his face. I just gave him a questioning look.

"Dude! Just tell her already!" someone shouted from behind.

I looked back and there I saw his whole soccer team behind.

Okay. What the hell is happening here?

Audrey caught my attention when he started talking.

"Look Blaire, I didn't mean to do it. Damn. How should I say this?" he said as he ruffled his hair.

"What?" I asked because honestly, I don't understand what he's talking about. Even a single bit.

"Just go straight to the point dude!" one of his team mates shouted.

I can hear every single one of his team mates laughing. What's funny by the way? And Audrey here looks very uneasy.

"Blaire, I didn't mean to hurt you." He started.

"I don't understand, Audrey." I said.

"This whole thing, is just a dare. From courting you, to making you mine, to break you exactly on our anniversary, are all just a dare." He slowly said.

Tears started to stream down my face.

"Remember when we lost a tune up game to our school's rival? Before the game began, we made a bet. When we win, I will treat the whole team. But when we lose, they will dare only me since I'm the captain. And unfortunately, we lost." He added.

"What a jerk." I hissed at him.

"But Blaire believe me, I really tried to love you. It's just that… I-It's j-just that.." he trailed off.

"It's just what?" I said.

"I really tried but it didn't work. I'm so sorry. I hope I can make it up to you someday." He just said then left.

And there I was, standing and left dumbfounded.

I really don't understand. If all of it was just a dare, why would he show concern for me? Why would he make time for me? Why does he make me feel important? Even if it's just in the beginning, why would he do that?

Stupid, Blaire. He has done that to make you fall for him.

Audrey, you are one hell of a jerk.

I was still standing in the middle of the quadrangle, not giving a damn about what the people here might think, when a hand gripped my arm and dragged me out of the quadrangle.

I looked up and based from its physical appearance, it was a boy. I can't clearly see his face because he's a lot taller than me.

But what I can clearly see is he has one damn fine back!

I just finished fantasizing about his back when he stopped at an alley and turned to me.

He has a well-built body, fine sharp jaw, pointed nose, and his eyes… Worry is evident in his eyes.

W-Wait.W-What?

Worry? We didn't even know each other. Why the hell would he drag me?

I looked up since he's towering me.

"Mister, why did you drag me here?" my brow shot up as I asked him.

"Just because I can't stand seeing a girl crying because of a worthless boy." He said.

"We didn't even know each other. What are you concerned for?" I spat at him.

"But I know you. You are Astrid Blaire Pierce. But I prefer to call you mine." He smirked then winked at me.

"What? Unbelievable. You knew me but I don't know you so that makes us strangers." I exclaimed.

"I'm Cameron West Peyton. There. We're not strangers anymore."

I sighed in defeat.

"Well sweetheart, I can't just stand there and watch my friend's little sister cry over nothing in the middle of the quadrangle." He said.

"You knew my brother?" I asked.

"Uh-uh. The great Brett Tyler Pierce!" he replied.

Oh. He knows my brother. And I'm scared that my brother would probably know about what happened back there.

"U-Uhm hey, can you not tell my brother about this please?" I pleaded.

"Uh no. Actually, I would be glad to tell Brett about this. For sure he would get pretty pissed." He said happily.

"Just please. I don't want Ty to know about this. I know what he can do to Audrey when he's very mad. Like mad, mad." I said softly.

"Okay there missy."

I smiled on what he said.

"But-"

My smile immediately faded when I heard the word 'but'.

"But you should agree to go on a date with me." He smirked.

"What?" I shrieked.

"My offer is just simple. Take it or leave it sweetheart." He smiled mischievously.

The nerve of this boy! Like, we literally just met and he would ask me that. He is a freaking Casanova!

"What the h-"

I was cut off by a cold voice.

"Little Blaire let's go. You have lots of explaining to do." Aspen said with a stern voice.

I turned around and saw him and the whole gang behind him looking intently at me. Their stares are sending shivers to my spine.

I smiled at them but they didn't smiled back.

Oh no. They are really mad.
