4 4.a secret il never tell

Myrah walks over to us as we stand there in confusion.

I ask her why did you lie to us and who is that man that you were arguing with?

I can see pain in her eyes and she says she had already been to college but she is back just for a day to see her boyfriend who no one had a clue about because our parents were really strict towards her as she grew up. She explained that she had left in a hurry and never got to say goodbye and that the man we saw her talking to was his dad letting her know that he had also recently left for college and that he will not be seeing her again and then she went on to saying that she is fine with him leaving and cracking a silly joke about how she had dumped his rich as which caused us all to burst out in laughter.

Thinking she had no reason to lie we believed her and after a long conversation she made us promise that we would never tell anyone that we had seen her not even our parents as they would be disappointed knowing that she had come back for a boy and knowing how strict our parents were with her growing up, we all had promised.

We hugged her and said our goodbyes as she said she needed to leave as her flight is in a few hours and she scribbled a number telling me if I ever needed her I should just contact it anytime of day and to never trust anyone blindly and with that she walked away.

Thinking it was just her being overprotective as always I smiled and let it go.... Now when I think back I see it as a warning but it is a little bit too late for that...
