Aria Rosewood

Draco got up early next morning. He got dressed and went downstairs where his parents were waiting for him.

"Morning Draco." said his father. Draco nodded in his direction as acknowledgement. He sat down at the table and ate in silence. It was another rule or perhaps I could say a natural behaviour that everyone keeps silent while eating.

"Packed Draco?" asked his mother.

"yes mother." he replied silently.

"Very well, get your trunk. We will leave." He nodded.

He went upstairs and grabbed his trunk. Draco grabbed a handful of floo powder so they could get onto the platform. His mother pulled him in a warm embrace but his father didn't bother to do anything except nod. There was flash of green light and the next thing Draco knew was he had reached the platform.

Floo network

Draco brushed the soot off his expensive clothes and made his way towards his friends, Theo and Nico Ellison who waiting for him too.

Theo Ellison was a skinny boy who had good humour and Draco appreciated that. Nico Ellison was his twin. They both had a good sense of humour which was the only reason Draco put up with them and also because they were from a well-respected pure-blood family too. They both were almost identical except for their eyes, hair and nose. Nico had dark black hair whereas Theo had light brown. Theo had green eyes while Nico had plain black. They were Draco's friends since his first year and he did not complain in the slightest.

"what's up mate?" asked Theo cheerfully as Draco headed way towards them.

"Nothing," he replied looking around when his eyes fell upon Aria Rosewood. She was standing with her two other friends too. Marissa Miller and Oliver White. Aria seemed to talk about something animatedly as she kept moving her hands in the air and laughing.

Aria was a tall girl with red and golden hair. She had ocean blue eyes with long eyelashes. She looked pretty if it wasn't for her nasty behaviour. She always had a bossy tone in her voice when she talked or at least when she talked to Draco. She never had a good relationship with him even before our first year when we weren't enemies but Draco didn't complain. His life was peaceful enough without her. Draco examined her, trying to detect anything powerful in her which could defeat The Great Morana, but he found nothing. She was normal as always (if being crazy is included in normal then yes).

"Hello? Draco? Mate?" shouted Nico on his face pulling Draco out of his thoughts.

"What? Why are shouting? You think I am deaf?" he spat at him.

"well no but you certainly are going either deaf or crazy." Said Nico cooly.

"what?" he asked confused.

"Draco, you weren't hearing us and top of that, you were staring at Rosewood." Replied Theo.

"your eyes are playing tricks on you. I had rather be blind than stare at Rosewood." He said, rolling his eyes.

"of course, Mr Perfect," said Nico bowing. Draco ignored them, laughing.

"Anyways, anyone saw Wren on their way?" asked Theo.

"No, I didn't see her on my way as I floo travelled but if you are asking if she was waiting for us in one of the chimneys, then no," Draco replied, sarcasm lacing his words. The other two laughed but then soon a voice was heard behind them. they turned and saw Wren Wilson running towards them. She was a short girl with extremely annoying behaviour but she was Theo and Nico's best friend.

"Looks like your search is complete," Draco told Nico. He sniggered.

"hey! how are you?" she asked.

"Fine, ready to go to school?" Draco asked.

"yeah," they said and now comes the hard part: Gathering the students so that they could get to school through a portkey.

"Theo and Nico go call everyone. Wren you can them" he pointed towards Aria as it was the hardest part. She irritated us a lot.

"Okay, as you say my lord." they all said together and bowed. Draco rolled his eyes, laughing.

"But well I have something to do. How about you go and call them please?" Wren asked.

"No! I am not dealing with them. What have you got to do?" he asked her.

"I have to check on my books please." she begged.

"ugh!" draco said but he still agreed. Theo, Nico and Draco scattered.

"Rosewood, hurry up! The portkey is ready." He said as he approached her and her friends.

"What's up Francis?" she asked, smirking.

And you were wondering why she was irritating?

"What?" He retorted.

She sighed and asked, "where is the portkey?"

"With Wren" he replied.

"Okay" she said with her friends and pushed past him and went towards Wren. Draco stood there confused. She usually irritated him a lot. Why so easy this time? Draco rolled his eyes.

Must be his luck.

Soon Theo and Nico returned with a bunch of students behind them. They all placed their fingers around a book, which Wren had enchanted to be a portkey, as Draco and she had been appointed as Head Girl and Head Boy of their house.

Draco felt like he had been squeezed from from all the sides. All his friends were presses against him. Draco breethed for air but he couldn't find it. All his insides were squirming inside him and when Draco felt he couldn't take it anymore, he fell to the ground. He grasped for air and soon felt better.

"ow" said a small voice beside him. He turned and saw Aria was rubbing the back of her head. She had fallen on the ground too. He looked around and realized that it was only him and Aria fallen on the ground. He quickly got up, looking embarrassed. But Aria didn't notice this, she kept rubbing the back of her head and saying, "ow" "ow"

"Oh come Rosewood, don't be a small child." He said, looking down at her.

"Oh shut up Francis. In case you haven't noticed, you were on the ground too." she said, glaring at me.

Draco was going to retort when Abel Gladstone, the head of Thunderbird house (draco's house) interrupted them.

"Ah! I see the students have arrived. Come on! Come on! Follow me." He said and turned back, going out of the chamber.

"Can anyone help me up?!!" cried Aria.

It seemed like her friends were talking something with professor Gladstone, so Draco rolled his eyes and offered his hand. She looked at me and then at my hand.

"I had rather be here all day." she said.

Draco fake sighed, "all right then. Theo, Nico let's leave."

"Wait!!" she said turning red. "Help me!!"

Draco smirked and offered his hand again. She took it and snatched it back as soon as she got up.

"There was no need to help me." she muttered.

"Well a thank you would have been nice." he replied sarcastically. When all the sixth years had arrived, they followed Professor Gladstone out of the chamber and to the Great hall. The doors opened and they all were welcomed by a beautiful sight.

The tables were arranged neatly and above each table, were hanging beautiful, yellow chandeliers. The professors were sitting at the head table. Professor Agilbert Fontaine, our headmaster was sitting in the centre. Marie Lyness, the teacher who taught us wandless magic, Marian Faustus, our divination teacher, Michael Stitchez , our care of magical creature teacher, Michele Kennedy, our defense against the dark art teacher, Charlotte Anderson, our history of magic teacher and Aliza Snowhawk, our transfiguration teacher.

They all made their way to sit with the sixth years. Aria and her friends sat opposite me and my friends.

Professor Fontaine got up and spread his hands as if welcoming them home.

"Welcome everyone for another year at Ilvermorny school of witchcraft and wizardry. I hope everyone had an excellent summer and therefore you all are excited to study this year. I wish everyone a happy year ahead. Welcome to the first years and Welcome back to our old students. And now let's get our little new friends sorted." he said.

Now you must be wondering what is sorting? I'll let you. There are four houses at Ilvermorny: Horned Serpent, Wampus, Thunderbird and Pukwudgie. When a student start their education at Ilvermorny, they would step onto a Gordian Knot on the floor in the centre of the entrance hall, with large wooden statues of the mascots of the four houses facing them. The carved statues will react if they want the student in their house. The carvings react in different ways: the crystal in the Horned Serpent carvings' forehead glowed, the Wampus carving roared, the Thunderbird carving beat its wings, and the Pukwudgie carving raise its arrow.

Whenever the student were sorted, everyone cheered and went back to silence for another. After the sorting, we all ate our food and then headed to our dorms and were fast asleep. Draco couldn't sleep. He kept thinking about the task he had been assigned.

How was he going to do it? He told his mother that it was nothing for him but it was definitely the hardest thing in his whole life. He needed to plan something....either to support Morana or...or to betray her.
