13 Why Not Me?

JACKIE

Blush on… ready!

No one will not notice my face now. I make sure all the boys look at my beauty when I go to school. I put lipgloss and expensive powder that I even saved to buy then.

The other men on the road couldn't help but stare at my beauty. I also see some women who seem to be jealous of it. I can do nothing if I am better than them.

A man suddenly approached me and ask my cellphone number.

"Sorry, I'm already taken," I said. I am not quick to attract others, and I also don't care if they look good like me. There are times when some men help carry my belongings while getting my address so they can accompany me. I am not just a lightly person who will give any information about me, as I said before.

While walking into the school, I saw my best friend Jessica talking to her ex-boyfriend Xavier. I was surprised when Jessica came to me and held me by the arm. The sadness on Xavier's face was noticeable when Jessie ignored her. Xavier just walked away, and Jessie and I walked together. Despite that, I feel that Xavier still has feelings for my best friend. That man deserves a second chance, but Jessie could not give it. I stared at Jessie and said that the man was trying to pay attention to her, but you did not heed. Though I cannot blame my friend, she was hurt so badly. When your heart grazes, you forgive the person, but you cannot stop feeling resentful of what he did to you. That's how my friend Jessie feels.

While walking, Yael suddenly greeted us, the fourth-year student I really loved. But he ignored me. Jessie was the one he teased rather than me. I was peeved and jealous of Jessie.

"Crying, girl. How are you?" He greeted.

I just looked at my friend as he was talking to Yael. I hope he notices me too. Yael continues to tease Jessica. I was shocked when he told us face to face that he would court Jessie. I held Jessie's hand tightly and invited her to leave immediately. Yael suddenly grabbed Jessie's hair, so I pulled her hand hard so we could go instantly. The closeness of the two of them is clearly manifested. If she wasn't just my best friend, I probably would have gotten Jessie.

"You don't really like Yael, do you?" I asked.

"No." She says.

Upon entering the classroom, I saw my American half Filipino classmate looking away. Abigail obviously looking at him with her mirror. I sat for a while near Jessica to talk about what happened earlier. Zack suddenly cut in our conversation, then inviting Jessie on a date. I teased Zack that Yael had asked her on a date. Zack wondered what I meant.

"Yael is Jessie's, dear man," I said.

"I don't like that guy! "Jessie defended.

Zack's eyes were obviously excited when he heard that from Jessie. I was also happy, but I still can't be sure that Jessie really doesn't like Yael. Zack repeated, inviting Jessie on a date. We both looked at each other. "It depends if Jackie and I have somewhere to go," Jessie said. Abigail suddenly joined the conversation.

"Zack. I'm free on Saturday and even on Sunday. Let's meet at the park. 3 PM sharp. Deal!"

Zack looked at my best-friend, but this best friend of mine was naive. She allowed others to be with Zack. Zack was sad that Jessie disagreed.

When will Jessie notice that Zack likes her?

Maybe I help Zack to court, my friend?

Jessie hurried out of our classroom after our class. I didn't mean to see sir Chris pass by. He is so handsome. I then thought that Jessie came out so she could see sir Chris. Jessie has not yet admitted that she really likes sir.

Zack likes Jessie, but my best friend likes sir Chris. This is a beautiful love triangle.

I'm really looking forward to who Jessie goes to. Is it Zack? Maybe sir Chris?

Just as crucial as Yael is to me. Someday he will notice me too. Go, Jackie!
