That morning was supposed to feel special, I was meant to feel like a queen that day but I had mixed feelings. It was more like a mixture of joy and sorrow which engulfed my heart. Birthdays are joyous days to celebrate life, achievement and success. But mine wasn't that way because I celebrated it without much joy, even with the grinning and smiling,deep down I was troubled.
Ever since the last surprise party they threw at the office I knew my employee would plan something for my birthday as well and I was right because I was dragged out of my room that morning. It was a Saturday and so most of them were free .
Maddie was the first to wish me as soon as I woke up.
" Happy birthday to you ma'am " She said and she proceeded to singing the happy birthday song. I smiled and sat up on the bed, thanked her for remembering and was about to go back to bed when he announced to me that I had visitors waiting to see me in the living room.
