After explaining to aunt Rebecca why they were at her house excluding the part of Calli's involvement, her aunt being the nice woman she is, welcomed them in and showed them to their rooms.

Ann collapsed on the bed covering herself with a pink quilt while Veda stood there staring at her with a questioning look.

" would you care to explain to me what is going on or would you rather tell me that I should forget it or mind my business? ", Veda asked angrily.

She couldn't believe her friend didn't trust her, Seeing her best friend and only family who didn't confide in her broke her heart just like her foster parents.

" I am sorry", Ann apologized sincerely as she sighed and started her story. " you might want to grab popcorn and tissues for what I'm going to tell you".

" go on", Veda stated as she propped herself up.

" it all started in high school, I loved him from the first day I saw him, there was this chemistry I felt whenever I was with him", Ann recalled and explained to Veda how he never reciprocated her love and she saw him kissing another girl and how he later fell for her becoming possessive and obsessive about her.

" so what connection do you have with Calli's family? ", Veda asked still confused.

" nothing but to be honest Veda, don't get mad. I'm no ordinary girl, I am Mr. Toni Williams's daughter, the famous business tycoon but I left my family for personal reasons ".

As Ann explained as she waited for accusations to be rained on her.

Veda's eyes widened, she couldn't believe she had been living with the high and mighty Ann Williams who was down to earth, of course, she would be shocked.

As Ann finished her confession, she knew Veda would probably end their friendship and she would be all alone, AGAIN.

" come here," Veda said as she hugged her and it was Ann's turn to be shocked, after the hug ended, Ann stared at Veda with furrowed brows. "aren't you gonna leave me?", Ann asked but Veda shook her head.

" I can't believe how much you've gone through and I only pressured you with my problems, I'm so sorry but I still like money", Veda said, mischievously grinning.

She got all serious promising to stand by Ann through thick and thin and from Calli.

Ann who was probably used to her mood switch just smiled, she doubted if there would be much Veda could do to stop Calli.

She then realized her first mistake was leaving her place of work for a sunshine law firm, she thought she was exceeding little did she know she was walking into the devil's trap.

" I can't lower myself to beg Mr parker or go back to father, he'll probably tell me to be his mistress or worse, marry him, what should I do Veda?", Ann asked worriedly.

"it's what should we do, Ann?, I think we should try sunshine law firm besides, how bad can calli be? we are just going there to work besides what do we have to lose?", Veda said.

" yeah, perhaps we could lose our lives", Ann said sarcastically not liking the idea of working in the same place he was the boss, but Veda's suggestion was the only thing they could opt for.

She couldn't depend on her aunt and if she used her bank account her father would think she had conceded.

" OK listen carefully Veda, I know him like the back of my palm", Ann said but frowned when Veda chuckled, " no jokes, got it", Veda said as she gulped from Ann's ominous glare.

There was some kind of strong aura she had and Veda can't quite place a finger on it but the truth is that the angel-looking Ann was the devil herself.

" he's very possessive so during work time no sweet gestures, he is jealous of even women but I hope he has lost interest in me and I'm just imagining things", Ann said with a sigh.

"Okay, didn't see that coming, but what about our belongings? oh oh, Williams's daughter is here" Veda giggled like a child.

" calm down, we are not planning to paint the town red, I have not touched my first account for a long time now but I can tell you that billions of dollars and Euros are in there," Ann said dryly.

She decided to use the account since she and her friend has been through a lot, the money in there was enough even till her seventh generation and if her dad try one of his ploys, She'll just fight back, she has never been and will never be weak.

" wow I take back my word about working tomorrow let's go shopping ", Veda pouted with puppy eyes.

If it had been someone else Ann would have rolled her eyes and insulted the person, her middle-class mentality but she had lived the middle-class life and understood what being poor was, but when Ann talked about being poor meaning like twelve million.

" ha, okay but I hate missing work but I'll make an exception for the stress I have put you through baby girl", Ann said pecking Veda good night.

Veda smiled, sometimes Ann would act sweet like a mother and sister but other times She'll act like you're her enemy, " classic Ann ", Veda said switching off the light, she wondered what she'll do if Ann were to leave the future, she had been so tied up with Ann that she forgot what it meant to date or have a life of your own.....

Meanwhile, in another place, Ann's last and singular action towards Veda was creating havoc. " how dare she call her baby and even peck her?", Calli said venting his anger on the desk that was broken in two, the beast in him awakened, he was much crueler than he looks, he wasn't called Dracula for nothing.

" dude chill, I think it's a friendship thing", PA Stephen said enjoying Calli's state only for calli to throw him the broken desk but he ducked right in time besides he wasn't stupid.

" make sure their bills are paid and deliver the best bag and shoes, you know women's accessories, I don't want MY BABY to stress herself besides she is Calli Ambrosio's woman ", he stressed the word MY BABY for more emphasis to his friend as he boasted but Stephen was not pleased.

" do I look like your maid?, Buffalo", Stephen said making Calli walk towards him, he had a murderous look.

If there was a license to kill Calli would have a lot, " do you want me to report to your dad?" he threatened.

Stephen knew that if Calli did that all his hard work would be in vain, besides he hated the fact that his father sent him to Calli, although calli were his best friend, he hated his domineering side and that annoying sneer that causes his blood to boil.

"I'll go now", he said and walked away, Stephen walked out shaking his head, " how love makes one mad and irrational, I prefer not to fall in love".

Despite his anger he couldn't help but feel that the blonde chocolate brown-haired woman looked familiar, he sighed and walked on, he wasn't ready for women yet because he'll surely break them.

" I'm sure once she sees this, She'll come running to me, which woman hate gift and an expensive one at that but why is it that she has no family background, is she an orphan?, but she doesn't look poor during school days or was she just pretending to fit in?, well if she likes money I have lots of it", he said proudly to himself.

He came to know about their plans because he asked his men to put CCTV cameras in their purses and car when they stepped out to confront the landlord and also in aunt Rebecca's house sending his spies as plumbers before the girls arrived there and in the room they just put voice assistant and GPS trackers to hear all of their discussion and trace their whereabouts.

" how brilliant am I and also handsome", he praised himself.
