1 Apologize

Acerradia is a kingdom that stood tall in the four lands of the world. It was ruled by a cold hearted queen who is feared in every corner of the world. Not only does she not stand to fail in her endeavors but crashes her opponents heartlessly.

Queen Isabella was proud of her position. She stood high, with her kingdom having the best army in the world. The women that served her army were the best there was. They fell short in nothing.

Her court was filled with strong headed women who helped run the kingdom. Acerradia was the richest in terms of wealth. They had the biggest markets for trade.

They traded both on land and sea. Their port was the biggest, with the largest ships and brave captians and crews that brought the kingdom many glories.

The borderlands of Acerradia increased each day as the warriors of Acerradia conquered the areas around their kingdoms easily.

She was proud that she was blessed with a daughter in her life, the heir to her throne. She was with two sons as well but they were never seen or heard of. Only the princess mattered.

In every corner of the kingdom women stood tall in Various accusations. It was very rare to find a working man in Acerradia.

The women here were not muscular but bored strength that surpassed that of men. They were smarter and braver than men. They made the most of society.

In Acerradia since men were not strong as women to help them fight the beasts that threatebed their borders. Their duties didn't pass the boundaries of the house.

The men of Acerradia were delicate and only good for breeding . Hence when a young man came of age his parents would look for a good family and marry him away.

Women were the heads of the house, they had the final say on matters of the family. It was a rule that men were mostly to be seen and not be heard, a man who dared to raise his voice or fight with a woman was looked down upon and regarded as a shameless man.

Women did most of the courting and had the right to choose a husband for themselves in Acerradia. They had all the power while that men were only to go with what was decides.

And for centuries life has been like this in Acerradia. Their were cases years ago of where men tried to level the field and prove that they were equal to women but they failed miserably.

The women had gotten so used to being on top that any attempt to prove them otherwise was deemed as rebellion and such weren't treated very kindly.

Men who dared to claim that they were equal to men were punished harshly to act as an example to others.

But that has not stopped the men from feeling so and every once in a while a fool one would rise up to act on their feelings. And such was the case with Draxan.

He is the son of the village head of Momar and he believes that men are equal to men. And he is not afraid to embrace how he feels. He challenges anyone who tries to tell him otherwise, his mother has tried to tell him many times that such thoughts were dangerous to have but he doesn't care.

He refuses to rest until he can prove to the world that men can be equal to women. Hence he trains day and night to be able to keep up with the females. He had decides to take the test to join the army.

He had known that once he proved his strength to the world then no one will ever dare to ask him to stay at home and look after the house.

He wasn't going to marry or do the petty jobs that unmarried men did. His mind was not so weak that he would heed when they ask him to accept the situation and move on.

Today was the first day of the month in Acerradia and it was the busiest day in the market. Merchants and traders had opened their shops and stall for all to shop as they wished.

Ships returned to the port with goods from other kingdoms to sell to the merchants and local traders. The best of the goods they brought back would be kept aside and taken to palace for the queen and royal family.

Draxan and his friends had gone out to shop as his mother had insisted. They walked together hand by hand at the market looking for things that might interest them.

"When are you going to get married?" his friend dared to ask him. Draxan shifted his gaze from the stall to look at his friend. That was one topic that he didn't like to talk about, he had no intentions of bowing his head to a woman like every other man.

He wanted to earn his place in society as a man who equaled women and hopefully other men might find courage in his success and also work hard.

"When the sun rises at night," he replied to his friend. His mood had been ruined since his mother asked him to shopping but it got worse when his friend asked him that question.

"Listen Drax," his friend began to say. "I know you hate to hear it but you will have to get married eventually," he added.

"That will be the worst day of my entire life," Draxan uttered.

They kept walking talking no further about the matter of marriage. The boys did their shopping in the market place and when they were done they got ready to return home.

Draxan hurried out of the jewelry shop and bumped into someone on his way out. His shopping bags fell to the ground.

He shot his gaze up to the fool who had collided with him. His eyes met with hers, she was the most beautiful girl that his eyes had ever seen. And the moment felt like magic as things moved in slow motion.

She moved her blonde hair from her face and gazed back at him. Her eyes were filled with shock at the nerve of the man to look at her directly in the eyes.

"Will you keep staring at me like a fool or apologize for running into me," she question.

Her words caused him to blink. He went down and picked up his shopping bags and made his way to leave.

"Hello," the girl called to him grabbing hold of his hand tightly. "How dare you bump into me and have the audacity to walk away without apologizing?" she asked him.

Her eyes were glaring daggers at him. "Wait, I wasn't the only one. You bumped into me too so why don't you apologized?" he asked her in return.

"Have you no shame young man?" she asked him irritated by the nerve of him to talk back at her.

"Have you no shame young girl, you made the same mistake as me," he told to her.

The girl raised her hand to hit him but Draxan caught it. He pulled her close to him by her hand and met her glare with his.

"An arrogant girl with no manners should not speak to me about shame," he said to her.

"An unmarried man of marriageable age dares to raise his voice to me?" the girl asked with dosbelief written in her face.

"Have some respect. I am a man and I won't let you look down on me for it, I deserve respect just like you do," Draxan said disgusted that a beautiful girl such as herself had such a stupid mentality.

He hated the fact that she thought so little of him just because he was male. The girl forcefully pushed him off of herself, she made certain to exactly force to make him land hard on the ground.

Such is what happened. Draxan hit the ground with a loud thud and injured his elbow. He felt imense pain after the fall and winced.

He looked at his elbow that was bleeding from impact with the ground. He gritted his teeth in anger and raised his gaze to the girl who pushed him. He glared at her with rage burning in his heart.

He hated her, she was exactly like the type of people that he disliked in the world.

"Apologize for your mistake," the girl insisted.

He looked at her angrily. He had no intentions of apologizing to her and he didn't care from what family she was. All he knew was the fact that the girl had insulted him and he hated her.
