2 The boy

Yin sat down in the front corner of the room. It was math and Yin liked math and was pretty good at it too. Really weird and totally unheard of so she was very strategic about her sitting in math class. If you sit in the front you are a good kid. If you sit Center then you are a teachers pet. But if you sit in front of the teacher's desk then you are going to be moved to make space for the bad kids. So Yin sat away from the teacher, not in the middle to save from teasing, but in the corner front so she could participate but be out of the way.

As Yin was sitting in her seat and preparing for the class she heard someone sit next to her.

"Is this seat taken"

It was the boy.

"No" was all she said

"Cool I like sitting next to new people who like math" he said smiling "By the way I didn't catch your name"

Yin was dumbfounded. No one had ever asked to sit with her it normally had to happen the other way around.

"Um Yin"

"Well Um Yin, nice to meet you my name is Aiden."
