20 Chapter 20

"WHAT are you looking at?" Kalex asked.

I turned to him. I shooked my head.

"I thought I knew who I had seen before, I'm mistaken," I replied then walked into the entrance of the resto first. I thought we will eat with the two bodyguards but no, they just watched us from the restaurant door. I couldn't help but looked back and forth at Kalex and the two bodyguards.

"Why do you keep looking at them?" he asked frowning.

"Won't you feed them? I think they are hungry too."

He drank water. "I pay them to watch over us, not to feed them."

I was stunned by his answer. It is true that he paid them to watch over us. I wiped my mouth with a table napkin then stood up. Kalex looked at me with questioning eyes.

"I'm just going to the comfort room," I said goodbye to him.

"Don't stay for too long."

"Okay," I replied.

I restrained myself from turning around while walking towards the comfort room because I might get suspected. I went straight as I planned. There are three faucets and five cubicles. I stared at the small window I had noticed earlier before we enter the restaurant. It was really what I'm looking at, not anybody else. I think I can fit in that window.

I quickly entered the fourth cubicle and stepped into the bowl. I raised my hand to reach the window. I then pushed myself to finally get there. I was very careful with my every move because I didn't want to get hurt. I pushed myself with all my might to get out completely but I lost my balance so I immediately fell on the other side. I winced as I felt the pain in my arm pierced by the glass of the bottles I had dropped. I looked at it and was even more depressed to see it bleeding.

I immediately stood up, unaware of the pain and soreness of the arm. I walked straight so that Kalex or his bodyguards will not catch up with me. I caught up with two uniformed policemen. Without hesitation I approached them for help.

"Sir, can you please help me?"

The two policemen turned to me so I continued my sentiment.

"Someone kidnapped me. Can you please help me, so that I can go back to Alta?" I complained.

They looked at each other and stared at me again. they seem to be weighing whether I'm telling the truth or not.

"I am not lying. Someone really kidnapped me," I said almost begging them to believe me. I thought they were still looking at me but it was too late when I found out that they were looking behind me.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Acuzar," the two policemen greeted at the same time before leaving.

I was stunned to turn to Kalex who was staring at me intently. D*mn!

Does almost everyone here know him? "Are you lost, Baby?"

The edge of his lip lifted for a grin. I stared at him and walked straight away but he quickly grabbed my hand.

"That is not the right way to go home to the mansion. Here on the other side," he said before pulling me back to the resto where his SUV was waiting.

We didn't say a word while traveling home to the mansion but he's very observant. He saw that my arm was bleeding so when we got home he just took me to the living room and made me sit on the couch .

"Stay here. I'll just get something upstairs," he said as if I could run away. When he returned, he was already carrying a medicine kit.

I moaned at the thought that he will treat me. Maybe instead of healing my wound it'll get worse.

Before he got to my side, he first talked to their two maids to go upstairs to the guest room with the things we bought.

He went straight to me then. He laid the medicine kit he was carrying on the glass table. He pulled a cantilever chair closer to me. He stopped in front of me and sat there.

He opened the medicine kit and then took some cotton and alcohol. "Give me your hand," he ordered.

I stared at him hesitantly. I looked down at the cotton he was holding, I swallowed doubtfully. "Are you sure you know how to—"

"I can do it properly, don't worry," he said seriously. "Give me your hand," he repeated.

"As far as I know, your a California U graduate of Business Management not medicine," I said, just to lighten up the mood.
