19 Upset With the President

"Do you know that your gaze is the sharpest gaze in the world. It feels like your gaze can rip my heart and soul"

"How can there be a woman, who is able to make me feel what it's like to be curious"

##################

One week later

Barly looked at Evelyn with raised eyebrows in surprise, as the assistant from the President Director made a face that was not easy to look at.

"What's wrong with Evelyn?" Barly thought curiously.

For about one week, he watched his coworker who always put on an annoyed face everytime she left the President Director's room, and what made him even more suspicious was his boss' opposite expression from Evelyn, who always showed a happy face.

"Did this have anything to do with the party at that time?" Barly thought.

"Barly!"

"..."

"Hallo ... Barly!" Evelyn cried again, when Barly still didn't respond to her calls.

"Ah ... What is it, Lyn?" Barly replied in surprise.

It seemed that he was daydreaming, so that the repeated calls from Evelyn were not heard by him.

"What do you mean what is it? I called you a couple of times, but you didn't respond. You were daydreaming!" Evelyn snorted angrily.

Her mood for a week fell, because she had to see the annoying face of her President Director. She became even more annoyed when she remembered the incident a week ago, to be precise when she heard the President's crazy one-sided love statement.

Flashback on

Evelyn's pov

"It doesn't matter, as you said I am the President Director, so I have the right to do the work, delay it or even not doing it. Am I wrong, my dear Evelyn?" He replied without hesitation.

"Damn it," I hissed very softly, barely audible. But unfortunately, he was a sensitive person, so with a lopsided smile, he replied my swears back at me with words that made me both angry and embarrassed at the same time.

"Your mouth, my dear, do I need to stuff it with my mouth right now?" He said with a teasing smile. I felt immediately annoyed when I heard him, why were his every words not far from perverted things.

"Damn you, Samuel!" I swore angry at him.

"Ha ha ha!!!"

Look!! He even laughed casually back at me.

"Stop it! This isn't funny, Samuel!" I exclaimed irritated.

But instead of stopping, he laughed even more, l even saw tears welling up in the corners of his eyes.

"Shit, that stupid bastard!" My mind was really annoyed.

Then I saw his both hands go up in the air showing that he was surrender. He cleared his throat and straightened up.

He looked at me with a sensual gaze which I really wanted to plug those eyes right now.

"Who was doing comedy? Are you saying this isn't funny, heum?" He said with his arms crossed on his chest.

"We should go now, it's late or as I said earlier, if you wanted, you could just stay here?" He continued saying something that made me feel annoyed, with his eyebrows going up and down to provoke me.

"No thanks, I'd better take a taxi," I replied with a look of annoyance.

"I insist Evelyn, no more arguments!" He exclaimed absolutely.

Then he left the living room, walked toward the main door and opened it widely. Realized that I wasn't following him, so he looked at me and teased me again.

"Why are you still standing there? Do you already feel here like home? You could have told me" He said with a grinsed smile.

"Damn it," I thought irritably.

Then I could only obey his words and he finally drove me home with his other car.

"Huh, showing off. I know you are a rich man!" I thought sneeringly.

The atmosphere in the car was really quiet unlike usual. Nobody tried to speak first. I was not in the mood to talk with him, so I kept quiet and preferred to look outside the road, while he was just focused on driving. It didn't take long for us to arrive at my rented house.

"So, thank you and good-"

"Remember Lyn, what I said!" He interupted and looked at me seriously. "What?" I asked and pretended not to understand.

"You are mi-"

"Thank you, Samuel. But you know exactly that you and I are only boss and assistant. I might belong to you but only my time that is yours. If you mean my heart, sorry, I'm looking for someone serious and not someone who only knows playing around! "

I didn't think before I said that. I just wanted to interrupt him quickly. I didn't even know why I said that. But I knew that he was not a person who takes relationships seriously, let alone commitment, so maybe if I said that he would stop.

"I'm sure he will give up," I thought confidently.

"Then if I am serious and not playing around, will you accept me?" he asked quickly.

Honestly I quite knew how his character was and moreover, I still kept the promise with my best friend, that I would not be trapped in his seduction.

"No," I replied quickly with cold tone.

I saw him suddenly quiet, made me feel that there was something wrong with my words.

"Am I being too harsh?" I thought.

"..."

"Then excuse me. Be careful when you drive. Have a good rest, Samuel!" I continued when there was no response of him.

I left him in the car, and left without hearing a reply from him.

Blam!

Flashback end

"Huft, even I had to lie to Riki!" I thought regrettably.

"He seems to have a grudge against me. He deliberately always pissed me off this whole week," I thought miserably.

Evelyn's pov end

Normal pov

"Hallo Lyn...Geez, now you are the one who is daydreaming!" Barly cried for Evelyn.

Evelyn gasped in surprise at the call from Barly, whose hand was currently swinging in front of her face.

"Eh ... Barl, sorry, I wasn't focus!" Evelyn replied with an awkward expression.

"The meeting materials....for the day after tomorrow....in Australia, have you prepare them?" Barly asked with pressing down on his every word.

"Oh no, I forgot I have to go to Australia and I have to be alone with him for a week" Evelyn thought with her eyes bulging with horror.

"Hmm... Why is your expression like that?" Barly asked curiously.

"Does that mean, that the President Director and I will be travelling together on this business trip?" Evelyn asked disconcertingly.

"Of course, if not with him, who would you want to go with?" Barly replied quickly and asked in an amused tone.

"Oh no!" Evelyn thought sadly.

"Alright, I'm just reminding you. Please check it again, ok?" Barly said.

"Ok,"

"Cheer up, Lyn!" Barly exclaimed with a faint smile.

"Yes, Barly of course" Evelyn replied with a fake smile.

Then Barly went to his President's room.

"Yeah, Cheer up in facing the perverted king of the world," She continued talking to herself after Barly left.

"This full week at the office, he really pissed me off," Evelyn muttered irritably.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Evelyn put aside her work, when she heard the phone on her desk. She immediately picked it up, after the third ringing tone.

Click!

"With Evelyn Carla, may I-"

"My room now,"

Tut!

The short call from the President Director irritated her and made Evelyn creating a stiff smile on Evelyn's lips.

"Oh my God, what is it this time?" Evelyn muttered resignedly.

This morning she repeatedly had to make coffee for her boss because the coffee didn't suit to the boss' taste whereas her boss had never complained about her coffee before. But this morning, she just kept making mistakes. Yesterday was weirder. She was told to peel a kilo of oranges at a time.

Then there were many other things that were not related to work, but her President Director told her to do it, so what would it be this time?

"Will I be asked to do acrobatics today?" Evelyn muttered suspiciously. "Oh God, please protect me!" She continued.

She got up from her seat and walked hastily towards the door of the President Director's room.

Cheklek

Evelyn opened the door after knocking and got permission to enter. She walked slowly to the President's table, which was currently filled with stacks of folders of various colors.

"It looks like a beautiful rainbow," Evelyn thought with a chuckle.

"How can I help you, Mr. President?" Evelyn asked politely.

"Hm..Arrange these folders according to the date and put them on the shelf over there. You better check it carefully one by one!" Samuel replied indifferently.

"Yes, Sir,"

Evelyn immediately carried out Samuel's order. She walked closer to Samuel's table, then brought some folders who turned out to be quite heavy.

"Don't take it too long. There is still a lot to be done," Samuel said flatly.

Evelyn just nodded and muttered softly, replying to Samuel's words which sounded hostile to her.

"Yes, Sir,"

Evelyn first moved the folders to the table near the document rack, then arranged them as she was told. While Evelyn was checking the details of the dates on each sheet, she heard Samuel's annoying voice which made her startled and stopped her activities.

"Wait a minute," Samuel said suddenly.

Evelyn looked at Samuel questioningly.

"Yes Sir, what's wrong?" Evelyn asked.

"The folders on the top need to be arranged too. You rearrange according to the date. Do you understand?" Samuel said casually.

"What?" Evelyn thought in shock.

She looked up at the top of the shelf, then looked at her President Director who was indifferent to continue his work.

"All of it, Sir?" Evelyn asked incredulously.

"Yes ... Why? Is there something wrong with my orders?" Samuel asked with a mocking smile.

He chuckled to himself when he saw the horror expression of a woman who dared to reject him with ridiculous reasons.

"Ah..the world is beautiful!" Samuel thought happily.
