13 Call Me Samuel

It started with feeling of needing each other, then turned into true love.

It was not my fault, if he choosed me over you.

On a highway with heavy traffic, a black Pajero was moving at moderate speed. Inside of that car was Samuel who was driving the car, while his fingers were busy tapping on the steering wheel to follow the beat of the music. Seeing his watch was still showing almost seven o'clock in the evening, he drove his car at moderate speed.

"But it's very strange. Why is it still almost seven o'clock?" Samuel muttered in confusion. He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, then increased the speed of the car.

A few minutes later, he arrived at the gate of a rented house where Evelyn lived.

Tin! Tin! Tin!

He honked the horn three times, and he didn't have to wait too long, he could see Evelyn closing the door, and going down the stairs. He got off his car and waited for Evelyn, who was opening the gate.

Greeeeekk !!!!

The sound of the gate which Evelyn moved a little, was heard and followed by Evelyn who came out in a long sleeveless colored soft pink dress.

Samuel waved his hand and greeted Evelyn who came up with a smile.

"Night, Are you ready?" Samuel asked.

"Yes Sir, since fifteen minutes ago!" Evelyn replied sweetly but sarcastically.

Samuel frowned in confusion, then looked at his watch which still showed almost seven o'clook just like before.

"Shit !!" Samuel thought irritably. He realized that the needle on his watch was not moving.

"The watch is off," Samuel said innocently.

Evelyn snorted, but she didn't replied sarcastically the innocent remarks from her boss instead she replied it with a joke.

"Yes, I forgive you, Sir!" Evelyn replied jokingly.

"Who said that I was sorry?" Samuel teased back with a chuckle. He felt funny with the unexpected response from his Assistant.

" Fine, let's go!" Samuel continued.

He opened the car door, which Evelyn immediately thanked.

"Thank you, President Director!"

"We are not superior and subordinate when we are outside the office, so just call me Samuel!" Samuel replied with a snort.

He put on his seatbelt, after helping Evelyn who now sat comfortable next to him.

"No, I don't want to because you are my boss! "Evelyn said teasingly.

"Then if you become my lover, will you still call me Mr. President?" Samuel teased back with raising his eyebrows and a lopsided smile.

"There's no way that we would be a couple, Sir," Evelyn replied coolly.

"Hurry up and drive. You don't want to be late, do you, Samuel? I should call you Samuel right?" Evelyn continued commanding.

She called his boss's name, but then asked for approval. She smiled a little when Samuel gave a cute snort.

"You dare to command me?" Samuel asked playfully.

"We're not in the office Samuel, so I don't need to be afraid of you!" Evelyn replied with a mocked smile.

Samuel chuckled when he heard Evelyn's reply.

"That's my girl!" Samuel exclaimed happily.

"No, incorrect Sir. I'm not your girl!" Evelyn replied and looked at Samuel seriously.

"Not now, but later who knows!" Samuel said casually.

"I still don't want to. Come on. We should better get going Sam. Look, what time it is now!" Evelyn said coolly while showing him her simple watch. Samuel snorted in defeat.

"Yes, yes, you are really a chatty. I would never thought that you are so fussy and commandeer!" Samuel said mockingly.

"Who's fault was it coming late. Don't put the blame on me Sir, eh, Sam!" Evelyn replied uncaringly.

She chuckled when she called her boss with 'Sir' again.

"Yes, it was me and you already forgive me!" Samuel said casually.

Then he pushed the on button while pressing the gas until the car drove leisurely.

"Yes, yes, I forgive you!" Evelyn replied casually.

Then their conversation changed into more seriously which was about tonight's party. If in the office, they were usually involved in discussions about the work, but now Samuel told her about the situation, that would usually happen at a business party.

Evelyn, who listened carefully to Samuel's explanation, was a little worried about what would happen in a bussiness party. So when Samuel said not to go far away from him, she just nodded obbeying what her boss said.

"Is it the world of business that scary?" Evelyn thought curiously.

Skip

After a few minutes, they finally arrived at one of the biggest hotels in the city belonging to a famous family. Samuel got off the car first, then opened the door for Evelyn with his one hand outstretched to her.

"Thank you!" Evelyn said cheerfully.

She accepted Samuel's hand, then smiled sweetly.

"No problem," Samuel replied simply.

The two of them walked apart without Evelyn's hand hold on to Samuel's arm, making Samuel have to take the action first.

Grep!

"Sam?" Evelyn muttered in surprise. She looked at her hand, which was now being led by Samuel to wrap around Samuel's arm.

"Couples always have to hold hands, don't you know?" Samuel asked in low voice.

"How should I know. I have never on a date!" Evelyn replied innocently.

Deg! Deg! Deg!

Samuel's heart beat immediately when hearing Evelyn's innocent statement.

"Don't tell me I am the closest man to Evelyn after Riki. " Samuel thought.

"Apart from Riki, was there no other men, Lyn?" Samuel asked suddenly.

"No one," Evelyn replied immediately without thinking it first.

She thought because it was the reality, so no need to hide it.

"Seriously?" Samuel asked in surprise. He didn't expect that there would still be an innocent woman like his assistant, who never got close to a man other than his cousin Riki.

"Yes. Huh, you don't believe me. Why would I lie?"

Samuel only shrugged indifferently with a faint smile. Suddenly his steps became lighter and his heart was happy for some reason.

"Looks like it will be difficult," Samuel thought.

Ahead of them were two doorman officers opening them the large double doors and then giving a friendly greeting.

Evelyn said hello and thanked them while Samuel just nodded and continued on. The aura that Samuel gave off was suddenly different unlike he was outside the Hotel Ballroom. His steps invited gazes, especially from women who hold their breath when they could feel his charisma.

Meanwhile Evelyn could only put on a sweet smile just like what Samuel told her to do if there was no one talking to her.

When various gazes looked at them, Evelyn felt goosebumps instantly, and when they passed a group of young entrepreneurs, she could feel that they were looking at her with judging gazes behind her back.

Samuel, who felt the difference of his partner, glanced at her tightly gripped hand with a confused look.

"What is wrong?" Samuel whispered.

"There's a ghost, Sam!" Evelyn whispered back.

Samuel chuckled, when he knew the meaning of the word ghost mentioned by Evelyn.

"There will be more ghosts after this. You must put on a thick face and heart, my dear Lyn !!" Samuel said casually.

He deliberately said the affection word a little loudly, when his eyes accidentally saw a group of people earsdropping on them.

"I already did , Sam. You can see it on my smile!" replied Evelyn. She turned her face towards Samuel, and showed a cute fake smile that hung nicely on her lips.

"Good, that's my- "

"Not again!" Evelyn interrupted quickly.

Samuel chuckled a little, causing curious whispers around them.

"Fine, I promise!" Samuel replied relenting.

They approached the party organizer, congratulated him with a business smile and talked about business development as usual. It was true what Samuel said, Evelyn even barely heard any other words than business, stocks and things related to the company.

"Fiuh, I don't want to come to another business party anymore," Evelyn thought boredly.

This was Evelyn's first time at a business party and it was surprisingly boring for her.

"Fine, now we have to greet the others. There are still many people that we have not meet yet. Once again, I wish you a sucess and thank you for the invitation!" Samuel said with his business smile.

His face was almost flat without expression, except for the business smile that always displayed throughout the party.

Samuel took Evelyn who looked tired, to one of the empty tables away from the crowd. They were served food and drinks with top class service, accompanied by curious gazes all around.

"When will the party over, Sam?" Evelyn asked while holding her glass, filled with a red drink.

"Are you bored?" Samuel asked without answering Evelyn's question.

"Totally!" Evelyn replied straightforward.

Ha ha ha

Samuel laughed when he heard Evelyn's honest words. He always laughed when it came out from Evelyn.

"Can't you lie a little?" Samuel asked with an amused smile.

"No, I can't Sam, I'm not like you. It's a sin !" Evelyn replied coolly. Her lips twitched with shoulders shaking, holding back laughter as Samuel tapped his feet under the table.

"Huh, that's impolite ," Samuel said mockingly.

"Let it be- "

"Lyn !!!"
