39 CHAPTER 38

In a blink of an eye, my mother was gone. She's gone. She's...gone.

I kept on repeating it in my head but I can't seem to process it. I felt numb.

"She...was already experiencing heart failure. She didn't want the two of you worried so we kept it a secret. She kept on telling me that she can handle it. She can get through it and maybe...my fault was believing in her too much. I believed in her so much that even if I saw how she cried every night because of it... I chose to ignore it. I believed in her words too much." Dad explained. My mind was still in hazed, I can't think clearly.

"The reason why we kept on going out of the country was because of it." Ghale kept on crying while looking at Mom's lifeless body. I can't even seem to look at it.

It hurts my heart so bad. Everything happened so quick. We were just talking earlier but now, here she is. Lying in this bed peacefully but...lifeless.
