Excerpt 1

"So," Gerardo began, "Are you ready for me?" He had his gun facing Pero's eyes directly. 

Adjusting himself on his seat while he eyed Gerardo suspiciously, uncertain of his intentions, Pero thought it best to begin by asking a question.

"What do you want to know?"

"What intel do you have about Gustavo Rodríguez?"

"Uhm... I-"

"And before you speak, remember that you decide your life's worth with whatever utterances you make next. Lying is not even a fucking option. Got it?!"

"Got it!" Pero muttered and wished he had the means to delay the inevitable.

'I should have fucking listened to Dante from the start!'

"Baby. I-" She lifted her right hand and hushed me.

"Don't even. I will never forgive you for taking my love for granted, and for taking my innocence and vulnerability for stupidity. A man like you deserves the most gruesome torture, and I will let you have it. You just wait and see."

"Look, Gustavo! I have to do better things with my time than banter unnecessary words with you."

I let her finish talking, but as soon as she turned around to leave, I had something else in mind.
