2 Where it all begins

"Knittin, please inform the lady of Bonelake that I have lots of work and investigations to tend to, that I will not be able to make the tea party." Says Lord Terminus as his eyes turn white, before he leaves to say his goodbyes and heads to the lands of the South Mythweald.

"Yes, mi lord." I say, just as lord Terminus turns and throws me a dagger. Catching it, it's a lovely dagger well balanced. The black handle with silver inlay is absolutely astounding.

"Here it will need sharpening, keep it for your own good." He says, as his eyes turn back to normal. He grabs his winter solstice coat and puts a silver sword behind it and begins his journey to Mythweald by horse.

"Yes, mi lord thanks, you be safe mi Lord." I say as he mounts his horse and rides away.

While he is gone, it is my job to train the new maid. Things are running smoothly for the most part I take her with me to journey to Bonelake to deliver lord Terminus' notice of not being able to attend the tea party.

The trip is not to long, the carriage is small but the nice view out the window makes up for the cramped space. We rode in silence until we reach the manor of the lady of Bonelake. My friend Mily is there to greet us. She takes us to the lady of Bonelake.

"My lady lord Terminus, will regretfully not be able to attend the tea party." I say as I bow politely to the lady.

"You must have been Nicholas' last Butler before Stanley arrived." She says in reply, with a smile on her face.

"Do you have an orchard?" Mily asks me

"I do not have an orchard I have a farm, my lord has an orchard" I say in reply.

"You must have been faithful to your previous Lord. Do we have any privilege to enjoy delicacies of your farm or it is restricted to your Lord only?" She says. Giving me a hard time like always, trying to stir up trouble.

"Can I eat one apple please Knittin?" Asks Daisy in a pleading quiet voice

"You must ask my Lord Terminus Mily, Daisy lets go pick some when we get back." I say to the pair, I think one of these days Mily will get me into trouble.

"Yeah let's go" Daisy says with a smile. So eager she is, so let's see how things go but I feel she will get start struck, I have seen how she looks at my lord she will get herself into trouble.

"The Lord is away, we must take advantage of this situation." Mily says sticking her tongue out at me.

"You will get punished" Daisy says to Mily.

"Mily I will not betray my lord" I tell her as I will avoid trouble if I can.

"Am I right Knittin?" Daisy asks me.

"Knittin just pacify your Lord to not punish us in return we will serve him at his manor." Mily says joking around like always.

"My Lord may take pity, but I can do nothing." I say to her as I will not do anything to anger my lord. "I feel too old for this." I say as I feel like I am hundreds of years old some times, not a lady in her late 20's.

"There, there Knittin ask your Lord to turn you into a half vampire. Though the completion might not be a guarantee" the Lady of Bonelake says to my last statement as sometimes I feel like I am looking after children.

"Thank you, mi Lady" I say to her as I think on asking my lord. I would love to serve him much longer than a human life would allow me to do.

"Knittin you will be forever young and immortal." Says Mily grinning.

"Yeah and always beautiful" Daisy adds, even though you can see on her face she doesn't want me to.

We leave to get in the carriage and head home to Valeria, Mily walks us out to the carriage.

"Does it make a difference if I am a hidden Royal?" I say quietly to Mily.

"Knitting madame I am at your service" Mily says with a slight bow

"Mily thank you, but I have chosen to leave the royal family" I say getting in the carriage. Daisy over hears this and starts to bombard me with questions on the way back home.

"Why, does my Lord know, did they treat you bad who doesn't want to be in a royal family" Daisy says almost without taking a break or breath.

"My lord does not know I am royalty, but I fell in love and he was not of noble blood. Also I did not want to marry who my family had chosen for me. Rather than my family running him off, I ran off with him." I say, thinking back to when he was around him and my daughters, but they were killed long ago. Someone killed them all trying to get me to betray my Lord.

"Oh" is all Daisy could say. She looked puzzled and confused as to what I had just told her. I guess it does seem weird that a royal would choose to be a maid. I however enjoy being a maid, but then again I was always odd in my family.

I was kinder than the rest of my family, My sister had an evil mean streak in her. I hoped her children would not get that from her. My father was always the quiet type but you did not want to anger him. My mother ruled with a stern strict manor or at least from what I can remember of my family. For some reason I always feel like I have forgotten something, like I am missing a part of myself. I pass it off as just a strange feeling and move on, no point in dwelling on it as its not going to change.
