25 The message

Lilly clears out some room in the wardrobe for Daisy to hide.

"Get in here and I'll place clothes in front of you and they won't see you just stay still and quiet" Lilly says to Daisy as she moves things in a hurry.

"Are you sure I would hate for you to be in trouble over me?" Daisy half questions the choice as she is almost shoved in by Lilly.

"Don't worry about me just get in quick" Lilly says as she shoves Daisy in and places clothes so she can't be seen.

I stay in my hiding spot until nightfall before I make a move. That way it will be easier to sneak in. Meanwhile in side the duke argues with his wife.

"I don't understand what you are so upset about? I do this all the time." The duke says to his wife in an irritated tone.

"How do you not get it? You just kidnapped and raped the women your brother needed he is going to kill you" she says with venom in her voice.

"I do not fear my brother you bitch" he says back at her as they walk down to the store room where he had locked up Daisy.

As soon as he walked in and saw the room empty he lost it. He started throwing things around the room. he then chose to start checking the maids quarters thinking one of them had to have helped Daisy escape as she was almost to the breaking point. Entering Lily's room he slapped her hard across the face.

"Where is she I know you have her hidden" he screams at her.

"Sir, I'm not sure who you mean feel free to search my room" she says looking at the floor holding her cheek.

Daisy holds her breath as she hears what is happening in the room. The duke throws open the wardrobe doors. Daisy almost jumps in freight but holds very still. The duke sees nothing and closes the doors.

"Tell me where she is or I'll do to you what I did to her" he threatens her pure rage in his eyes.

"I'm afraid I don't know who or what you are talking about master" Lily replies timidly.

"You lie! How dare you lie to me!" He screams at her as he begins to beat her senseless.

"Stop before you kill her. There are still more servants to question and more places to look" the mistress says to him stopping him from killing Lily.

He stops beating her and throws her to the ground. He turns and storms out of the room slamming the door behind him and the mistress. As soon as they left Daisy comes out of her hiding place. She sees Lily on the floor beat to hell. She takes Lily in her arms and starts to clean her up.

"Are you alright Lily?" Daisy asks not sure if Lily can even answer.

"I'm fine" Lily whimpers her voice barely above a whisper.

"Let me help you into bed" Daisy says as she helps Lily to stand and walk to her bed. Once she lays Lily down she sits on the floor and prays for a miracle to happen. At that moment I walk in the room. Night had fallen and I had snuck in and stuck to the shadows.

"Daisy are you alright, I can tell something is off about you." I question her as I can smell the duke all over her and she is not wearing her own clothes at all.

"I will be fine but Lily took a beating for hiding me help me tend to her wounds please" Daisy says in a pleading voice

"I will help you get her patched up but then I have to leave I can't stay but I will be back to save you after we have a plan in motion" I tell her as I hurry to help Lily. Lily is a very brave girl to help Daisy and take the risk of being beaten half to death to keep her hidden.

"Thank you for your help but why can't you take me now?" Daisy asks fear laced in her voice. I can see the terror in her eyes, something truly horrible happened to her. I will not push if she wishes not to talk.

"If I take you now it will only be worse latter we have to set a trap since we know the dukes plans now but I had to come check to see that you were alright." I tell her in a stern voice.

"Alright I will trust you and Terminus, I hope you guys know what you are doing." She says heart fallen. You could see all she wanted was to get away from here.

"Stay safe and hidden and I will be back in a few days to get you out" I say as I get done tending to Lily's wounds. I get up and get ready to leave but give Daisy a big hug.

"Be safe and hurry back. Please ask Terminus if we can save Lily too" Daisy says as we hug for the last time. Or at least for a few days even if she drives me crazy sometimes I miss her and I am glad she is safe.

"I will ask and I hope she can put up with what is to come from hiding you" I say and turn to leave the same way I came in. Once I am back outside the walls of the dukes manor I get to my horse hidden in the woods. I ride back to my lord as fast as I can to give him the news of Daisy and ask about Lily. As I ride I think on why did Daisy smell of the duke and when I put it all together I am gobsmacked. How could he do such a thing to another person whether they are vampire or human it is wrong so wrong.
