4 Make Love Known

That night the lord returned very late, he retired to his room right away. I was informed by another maid that the lord had returned. Up early I headed to my farm to get more eggs as we have yet to find the chickens or what is scaring them away. Unless they have been stolen by the ghouls. When I get back to the manor, I begin the day's work by making food and cleaning up the kitchen. I head to the servants rooms to make sure everyone is up and the beds are made. I knocked on Daisy's door but there was no answer and it was locked so I could not enter to wake her. I think to myself this lazy girl is going to get herself killed if she doesn't start changing her lazy thinking. I start some laundry when Daisy finally wakes up and comes to find me.

"Good morning Knittin" Daisy says as she walks up to me doing laundry.

"Good morning." I reply back to her as I finish hanging the laundry.

"What is there to do today?" Daisy asks as if she woke up right on time.

"Alright well I think we are good for now just make sure all is clean, and we are ready when the Lord asks" I tell Daisy as I have already done most of the work. Thinking to myself I can't believe she really thinks she woke up on time this is never going to work.

"What will happen to me if I skip the work?" Daisy asks me as soon as she sees me hard at work and almost done.

"The lord may let you go I am not sure, the work is simple and easy

right now, the only thing left is to find the chickens something or someone has scared them off." I tell her in hopes it will keep her busy until the lord wakes.

"The problem here is I'm too lazy." She says in a matter of fact tone.

"We will need to change that or you can leave before being fired." I warn her as she will not last long with that attitude

"I don't like working a lot I hate waking up early" She says as I roll my eyes, she is never going to make it here, but I guess it is due to the fact that she is young.

"Well all I know is my Lord has no chickens and feels the ghouls have hidden them I had to bring him eggs, so the chickens need to be found" I tell her in hopes she understands I mean business

"Knittin have you ever see the Lord angry?" Daisy asks, which makes me think she is trying to find ways to do what she wants without angering him.

"I have not but he controls it very well" I say to her as I do not want to let her know that I have seen him at his angriest.

"How long have you been with the Lord?" Daisy asks me while we walk together. I am showing her where to start her search for the chickens.

"Not too long, but long enough to know my place and my job" I answer

"Hmm, do you know how old the Lord is?" she asks. I think to myself she asks a lot of questions will it ever stop. I stop walking as we reach where she needs to start looking for the chickens.

"I am not sure, but I have not asked either, but I assume around 700 years" I answer hoping she will stop with the questions I mean wow she really wants to know all about him, and she has only been here a day.

"I think he is so so old" she replies. Can the questions be over now I think to myself.

"Here is where you need to start looking for any trace of the chickens, come find me if you can't find any or you have looked everywhere." I say as I turn and start to head back to the manor. We may just have to buy more chickens I think to myself. I know this is just some task to keep her busy for a bit. I almost feel like I am trying to punish her for being late and lazy. Maybe it is just me getting tired of all her questions.

As I walk I think about what will need to be done once the lord wakes. Maybe I can send Daisy to buy more chickens. I know the Lord will let me know some of the business from his trip as it will have to do with some of the events coming up. Will it be a good time to bring up what the lady of Bonelake had mentioned?

I am taken out of my thoughts as soon as I feel as though I am being followed. I turned around to she Daisy is headed my way at a full run. I think there is no way she searched everything already. She must not want to do the busy work so she just stood there for a little bit and then came to find me. I am sure she is going to start her questions all over again.

"Knittin wait up" she says out of breath. I stop to wait for her hopping she found something and didn't just choose not to do something.

"Did you find out about the chickens already? That seemed rather quick." Is my reply as soon as she reaches me.

"It looks as if a fox or a wolf had gotten in there somehow" she says in between her panting as she catches her breath. I am shocked she really put forth some effort to find them, she may have given up a little to quick for my taste but at least she tried.

"Lets head back, I will see if you can go to town to buy some more in the next day or two," I say to her as I start walking back to the manor. She follows in silence but I see the wheels turning in her head. I have a feeling she wants to go today but the lord just got back who knows what other work will need to be done.
