24 Escape

Lilly a maid in the duke's mansion has seen the duke come and go from the once empty room. What could be in that room that he would lock it but also have made two visits to it? She thinks to herself, once the guard and the duke are gone she sneaks to the room. She picks the lock with ease its a skill she learned early on. Upon opening the door after picking the lock she is shocked by what she sees.

"Are you alright?" She whispers the question to Daisy as she starts to untie her hands.

"Mm mm, stay away" Daisy says as she comes to and starts to thrash around.

"Calm down, I am not here to hurt you I am here to help you my name is Lilly." She says trying to calm Daisy down. Once Daisy has calmed down some and stopped struggling, Lilly unties her hands.

"Why are you helping me?" Daisy asks shocked to find someone nice in this hell.

"The duke does this to all the new maids, I am not sure if you are going to be a new maid here. I just don't feel anyone should have to go through this ever." Lilly says as she helps Daisy up.

"Well thank you I'm Daisy, I was a maid in Lord Terminus' manor." She says to Lilly with a half hearted smile.

"Quickly, let's get you to my room and clean you up as best we can." Lilly says with a small hint of fear. The fear in her voice goes unnoticed to Daisy's human ears. Once they are in Lilly's room she hands Daisy a rag and a bucket to wash up as she looks for a new dress for her. Now nothing she has is as nice as what she had on lord Terminus must really take care of his maids. She thought to herself and hands Daisy a simple dress. Daisy cleans up and gets dressed.

"Thank you for your help, but why are you helping me?" Daisy asks her savior with a weak smile on her face.

"No one should have to go through that, I am sorry that you had to" she says apologetically looking down as she went through the same. She hides the key she used to unlock the door and began to find a place to hide Daisy.

Meanwhile in Lord Terminus' manor. After telling the guards to lock up the traitor. Mily and I head back to the main floor of the manor.

"Mily feel free to go and eat, I will join in a few I am going to update my lord." I tell her as I turn and head to the study.

"I will see you after a bit, that was fun getting that traitor to talk" Mily says with a smile and heads to find food.

I reach the study and knock on the door. After a minute of waiting I enter the study. Terminus is sitting at his desk lost in thought. I close the door behind me and walk toward the desk.

"Mi lord, we have a traitor locked in the dungeon who helped kidnap Daisy" I say standing in front of the desk waiting for him to say something.

"I fear my brother would pull something like this. However I am glad it wasn't you that was taken. Not that it would have been as easy as it was with Daisy, I would like for you to see if you can sneak in and check on her and let her know we will save her as soon as we can." He says so coldly. Almost like he had always planned to use Daisy from her first day here.

"Yes right away mi lord" I say with a bow. I head out of the study to find Mily. I head to the dining room first to see if she is there. When I didn't find her there I knew she was camped in the kitchen. I enter the kitchen and find Mily stuffing her face.

"Mily I have to head out to check on Daisy. I overheard the Duke at the solstice with something about plans to attack Bonelake, if you can warn the Lady so everyone is prepared that would be great" I explain to her as she finishes the food in her mouth.

"Yes I can do that, but are you sure you won't need my help?" She asks after she swallows her food.

"I am sure, its just a simple sneak in and out." I say with a smile on my face glad that my friend wants to help me.

When she is finished eating I walk with her to get her stuff. I see her off and then go to get ready myself. I change into some pants and shirt simple cloths but best for riding a horse. I tie my hair up so it isn't blowing in the wind.

I head to the stables and get a horse ready for the trip. Once I'm ready I ride off to the duke's manor. I stop the horse in the woods about a mile away. I head the rest of the way on foot. I climb a nearby tree to get a better view of how I may sneak in.

"What are you going to do with that maid? Are you not afraid that your brother will come here?" The dukes wife Vesta says. She is angry as she knows all to well what he has done.

"He can't get in here, we are heavily guarded" Azrial says smiling and laughing at his wife.

They are standing on a balcony and with being a half vampire now. I can hear and see them clearly. I watch as night falls and finally see an opening.

I jump from the tree and sprint to the wall around the manor. There is hole in the wall that has gone in noticed. I count as I know it will take the next guard five minutes to pass by.
