As I entered the office with a slow strolled I looked at my watch to check the time, which had confirmed that I am on time to the meeting. It's the time since we had a meeting like this, it's last happened while the board appointed me as CEO of Triumvirate. I strolled towards the board room keeping my gait easy and pace of my heart controlled. I opened the door and every one of the board members straightened their back to mask their exhaustion from jetlag and greeted

"Good Morning Mark"

I collectedly greeted "Good Morning Everyone"

Everyone smiled back except for two Gracy Throne and Tom Bonnie with whom I had recently had a row with. After the death of Augustus Bonnie(Founder and ex-CEO), trusted the reins of the company in my hands more than his own son Tom who should have been the CEO after Auggie succumbed. But Auggie suggested against it because during Tom's brief reign as CEO in the absence of Auggie caused many depletion of about a quarter of the companies trust fund. After that Auggie died in an accident under suspicious circumstances and later in his will he made me as a beneficiary who can hold about half shares of the company if I agree to be CEO of Triumvirate and that decision left only some handful of shares to Tom. After becoming the CEO I had verified all the company trust fund transactions and found these unaccounted transactions asked Tom about them as he is the CEO at that time but later I later understood that CFO Gracy and Tom are having an illegitimate relationship and are covering each other's asses. The issue had escalated and lead to this urgent meeting. Tom turned power hungry and wan the entire company for himself. He didn't like me from the day I sat on the CEO chair that should have been his by right. Auggie was my mentor and my father figure who helped me view the corporate competition and trained me to get fight my way out successfully. After his death, the company had gone through the rough patch which took years to set things right.

As I am deep in thought Marcus Bell stood (confirming my doubt of firing me) to take a vote

"After hearing many allegations against our current CEO we would like to re-elect an apter person to do the job. With the previous experience as CEO, we have here only one alternative candidate for this post, Tom Bonnie"

"So let's vote"

"People who want Tom Bonnie as CEO, please vote"

Two hands shot up

"Now let us continue Now people who want Mark to continue as the CEO please vote"

The remaining two hands shot up

"Then it's a tie then...."

Then suddenly a man came in saying "You had started this without me". Then my heart skipped a beat and Tom smirked.
