13 years passed since the birth of Bai Li-Lian, the heir to the water country. The country has grown prosperous throughout the last five years. A lot has changed since.

The birds were chirping throughout Jadeite Palace, A bird covered in snow colored feathers with the bottom of the feather being a beautiful cold blue, the Bluease was the only remaining of his species which is also known for being a mythical bird that used to stand next to each and every emperor before time itself. The bird had landed on a window sill with a little roof that was kicked out every time there was rain mentioned by the high priestess of the weather. He took his wings and spread them out to spray water that dropped onto his beautiful fur in the rain, most of his droplets landed onto the floor, which was now very wet. He flew onto a vibrant green jade willow tree statue that was especially made for him. Not long after the bird had made his entrance, so did another being, this time it was a little girl running inside using her arms to cover the rain from dropping onto her clothes. The girl entered the main room while flicking her hands that were now semi-wet from shielding her from the rain. When she was done trying to beat the rain out of her dress, she entered another room which was much more magnificent than the last room. As she entered there could be a figure sleeping underneath the water-breathed comforter, which was a gift from her father, the emperor. The maid walked in front of where the little lady was laying and bowed in front of the girl's bed. The little lady started to fuss about in her sleep. The maid perceived it as getting permission, she moved the see-through pearl shimmering curtain to reveal the little lady who possessed lovely olive skin, big eyes, and her full lips which seemed to be pursed about something at the moment. The maid tapped the little lady's arm two or three times before speaking.

"Young miss, it's time to get up." A young lady's voice had slipped out through the crack of Bai Li-Lian's consciousness.

"Leave me alone Mo-chou. What did I tell you about waking me up this early in the morning.'' Bai li-lian said with her face buried in her pillow with her eyebrows scrunched from the sudden light her maid suddenly casted upon the lady's room.

"Young Miss, today is the day you've been waiting for. It's the day you--"The maid had stopped talking as she had fallen on the floor from being surprised. Bai Li-Lian had gasped so loudly she had startled her maid to fall on the floor.

"It's the day I get to go to the great scholars' temple to learn other things than the stuff in the imperial library!" Bai Li-Lian said as she was smiling ear to ear with sparkles in her eyes.

"Yes it is Miss, we are already late getting young miss prepared before the emperor comes to your courtyard and escorts you to your carriage." Mo Chou said as she was picking out a light purple dress that was accented with lotus sewn on the bottom of the dress and jewelry that would match her lady's dress.

"Remember to pick out the lotus hairpin that I was given for my birthday from my Imperial Father." Bai Li-Lian said while she was patting her face dry with a face towel.

"Yes, Young miss, I have it in my hand" Mo-Chou said as she was showing lian-lian what's in her hands.

After, li-lian got dressed she had heard the eunuch announce her father's arrival. Li-lian had walked quickly outside to greet her imperial father and ran right into his arms.

"How is my precious daughter doing today hmm?" The emperor had asked with hearts coming out of his eyes.

"I'm doing great Dad. Is today the day I go to the scholar's temple and get to train with the famous scholar?" Li-Lian asked while her father grabbed her hand and started walking to her carriage.

"Sadly yes, but if my daughter does not want to go far away from her family I also would understand. The Emperor said with a longing look in his eyes.

Bai Li-Lian shook her head."I will be okay Dad, it's just for a few years. When I come back I will show Dad how capable I am. Li-lian said with a determined look on her face.

The emperor had laughed "Yes, you are right. It is only for a couple of years" the emperor said while looking at the imperial consort hui-an with loving eyes.

"Imperial Mother!" bai li-lian said with her big almond eyes while running into her mother's embrace.

"When did you get big enough to not fit into your imperial mothers arms now?? huh??" imperial consort hui-an said while pinching li-lian's cheeks.

"Hehe, It's all the food that I've been eating so that when I get to the temple I can have stamina to protect Imperial Father, Imperial Mother, my little brother and sister who are still inside imperial mothers belly." Bai Li-Lian said while stroking her mother's belly.

An eunuch comes to his majesty and whispers something.

"Second princess, it's time to go, are you ready?" Mo Chou said while helping Li-Lian onto the carriage.

"I'm more than ready," Bai Li-Lian said with her pinkish lips.

While bai li-lian was Waiting into her carriage that was decorated in blue and white lotus, there was someone watching the lovely couple and li-lian going into her carriage with a wide crooked smile .

"I am now departing, imperial father and mother. I'll miss you all." Li-Lian said while holding back her tears looking out her carriage window. Li-lian turned around and hugged her maid Mo-Chou who was crying. After a while they had fallen asleep into each other's arms, Mo chou woke her little lady up because their carriage stopped moving.

"Young Miss, I'm going to go out and see what's wrong. Do not step out unless it is safe" Mo Chou said before getting out of her carriage.

"Ok, be careful Mo Chou" Li Lian said as her little face showed anxiousness and anger.

The curtain to Li-Lian's carriage quickly opened and a black clothed thief with a knife at mo chou's neck came in and put his finger over his lips signaling her to stay quiet, 10 minutes passed by and the carriage stopped and the blacked masked thieves who was driving the carriage opened up the curtain and started talking with the other masked thieves about what they should do with Li-Lian and Mo-Chou. It had seemed that there was a commotion going on among the black clothed men who started to fight over who gets the most money.

Bai Li-Lian saw an opportunity when the thieves started fighting and arguing. Li-Lian reached for her lotus hair jewelry which was a slim knife, she started to cut the ropes they had tied her and Mo-Chou with. Li- lian noticed they left the horse still attached to the carriage, Li-Lian started to charge to the front of the carriage but, while running to the front of the carriage the black clothes man noticed her running and threw a dagger that was dipped with poison that could be fatal if not treated properly. Li-Lian was now on the ground not moving and tried to move onto her side but could not and soon fell into a coma.

The thieves didn't realize that a renowned scholar was walking around the area and noticed what was happening and recognized the carriage from the painting the emperor bestowed on him when he was proposed with the idea of training and teaching bai li-lian.

The scholar rushed over and took care of the thieves and ordered his shadow guards to alert the temple to come help the young lady and take her to his room and to deliver the thieves to the emperor and tell him everything that had happened and to return with news of what was decided with the thieves.

The scholar had followed Mo-Chou who was holding li-lian because Mo-Chou refused to let anyone carry her lady other than her, the monk was surprised because he never saw a 15 year old be this strong and brave especially coming from a royal family.

When li-lian woke up she was delirious and couldn't form words and that was troubling the scholar because her fever wouldn't come down so, the scholar had to hit some of her major pressure points that made her throw up blackish goo and Li-Lian fell back onto his pillow asleep for the next four days.

Meanwhile, in the western palace there was evil laughing sprouting from the empress's mouth.

"Heh, they used this extremely deadly poison on this girl. I am going to have them rewarded when they get back. The empress said with a leering smile.

A few days had passed after the incident had occurred. The thieves were killed by the emperor himself and the empress was thrown into the ice palace. Her maid gave her up on the spot when questioned, and imperial consort hui-an was promoted to be empress. Li-Lian also recovered but with an elongated scar on her back.

The temple had gone back to its more lively atmosphere when the emperor's daughter's life was on the line, to celebrate Li-Lian regaining her health back the temple had thrown a party and celebrated her regaining health for at least a whole night. Soon after Li-Lian had started her new life at the temple's academy. To Lian, this signified to Lian that she could get much stronger, wiser going to the temple academy.
