Broken windows and tattered paints are pasted on the wall. A tall four-story building stood alone with no sign of it being taken care of.
A pungent smell of dustiness rushed through Amon as he took a step.
—Tap tap
As Amon entered the meeting place—an abandoned building, numerous flickers of eyes entered his vision as his footsteps echoed inside.
"Ohh, he's here, he's here! Kekek!"
"Damn, he's dressed!"
"Kekekek!!"
As soon as he stepped inside, he was bombarded with several voices. Looking ahead, he could see numerous people inside the building, probably waiting for him.
Seeing the vest outfits, he already assumed that they were the Eighth Clan.
'What an excessive greeting…' Amon thought as he looked at their numbers. There were not less than 40 people inside the building.
At the center, a man with hair dreadlocks stood menacingly still while looking at him.
It was Wang—leader of the Eighth Clan
Adjusting his monocle as he chuckled, Amon greeted them. "Today is a lucky day. Hello, everyone," he said.
Just then, Wang, who was standing a bit far from Amon, suddenly disappeared and appeared right in front of him.
Amon looked at the sudden appearance of Wang. '...Blink? Teleportation?' Amon carefully thought but shrugged those aside. None of those were telekinetic.
Wang's sigil is a telekinetic type according to [Rain]. In short, his ability should be something about controlling a certain thing.
And one thing is for sure, instantaneous movement was not a telekinetic type.
'Unless… His telekinetic sigil controls an entirely different thing,' Amon chuckled inwardly, several ideas already going inside his head.
Amon put his hand on his chest. "Hello, I didn't know I would be getting this much of a welcome," he said, bowing his head lightly.
Wang took a second of silence and said, "You've got guts for coming here, pretty boy."
"Haha. Not really. In fact, I am extremely cowardly. I don't even know why I'm not running away already."
"Oh, so you think you can escape against all of us here, huh?"
"Ahaha. Now, now. I am not here to antagonize any of you. Didn't one of your members inform you about that? Rather than that, I even think that our goals are aligned. No need to be so against each other."
"Tsk. Trying to become a smartass, huh? You know, I hate people like you who know how to run their mouths. They run their mouths as much as they can, yet, they lack the necessary skills to perform."
Wang got closer to Amon and said, "You're just alone here, do you think you can do anything?"
At Wang's threat, Amon tightened his grip at his cane. "Now, now. No need to be so aggressive. I didn't mean to come off like that," he said.
Wang was completely right. Amon as of right now, wouldn't be able to do that much as he was still quite weak compared to him.
Compared to those who were already used to the supernatural world, Amon was just a newborn. After all, it was just a bit more than a week when he woke up in this world.
Realistically speaking, the confidence that Amon was showing was only a lie. The fearless expression on Amon's face was only a front that covered the hidden nervous side of him.
But still, his cover would work just enough to deceive others.
Seeing the unflinching expression on Amon's face, Wang burst out laughing. "Kekeke
… KEKEKE! You know what? Fine, I'll give you a chance to prove yourself," he said.
'Prove yourself my ass… Well, it's not that this is not within my expectations,' Amon thought at their aggressiveness.
The meeting that Amon originally thought was supposed to be simple. Yet, it became something exaggerated.
Not that he came unprepared though.
But still, his plan to join the Eighth Clan seemed to be about to go rough.
Amon touched his monocle, entering cogitation and effectively calming himself down.
"Alright, I very much appreciated that. Now then… As you probably heard from your member, I intend to join your clan. What will be the procedure?" Amon asked.
"Hmm… I hate beating around the bush so let's make this simple. You try to fight one of my men, if you show acceptable results, I'll accept you. Simple as that."
Looking at the other members, Amon could already tell that the other members were not that stronger than him.
"Got it, I understand. So, who's going to be my opponent?" Amon asked, briefly glancing at the other members.
Wang grinned and shouted, "Shigu! Come here!"
At Wang's command, a person with dark spiked-up hair came in front.
It was Shigu, one of the major members of the Eighth Clan bearing the sigil type of metamorphic type.
"...What? Boss, ya' sure that ya' want me to be his opponent? Kinda overkill don't ya' think?" Shigu said, scratching the back of his head while yawning.
"Shut up, don't question me."
"Aye' aye'."
Shigu then went in front of Amon. "Sorry 'bout this but—" he said, grinning threateningly. "Not sorry at all! Kekek!"
Immediately, Shigu went for a heavy right hook.
Amon simply took a step back, avoiding it safely. For Amon—a sequence 9, his punch might seem a bit slow.
Stumbling a bit from initiating a punch, Shigu followed it with a left hook.
"Grah!"
And again, Amon simply took a light step to safely avoid it. This time, Amon lift his cane and swung it at him.
Unfortunately, Shigu was able to dodge and avoid it.
Upon avoiding Amon's cane, Shigu stopped and jumped backwards, "Fuhh... So you can fight, huh?"
"Heh! I guess I have to be a bit serious here!"
In the next second, flames bursted from Shigu's whole body, producing dangerous heat.
'Alright, there it is. So his sigil is enveloping his body with flames, huh.'
"Since you're going that way, might as well do the same too!" Amon said as he adjusted his monocle.
"RAHH!!" Shigu shouted as he started to charge at Amon.
Amon pressed his hands together. The moment he let go, a flash grenade suddenly appeared between his hands.
Amon then immediately removed the pin and threw it in front of Shigu.
"What!?" Shigu stopped, surprised by the flash grenade, and immediately covered his eyes.
At the sight of Shigu, Amon took a long jump backwards and pressed his hands again together.
Since a grenade doesn't explode immediately, Amon took this chance to follow up his attack.
And this time, a smoked grenade appeared between his hands and threw it at Shigu's feet after he removed the pin. But before it landed, Amon closed his eyes and the flash grenade exploded.
Amon grinned, 'Fun fact, the eyesight is not the only sense that can get affected by a flash grenade.'
The moment they both heard it, they both immediately opened their eyes. One immediately ran, while the other one was standing still.
When the flash grenade exploded, Shigu's hearing sense was affected, not noticing the smoke grenade that had exploded in front of him.
So when Shigu opened his eyes, his vision was already blocked and can't see where Amon was.
"Cough! Where are you!?" Shigu coughed from the smoke and shouted.
His first instinct was of course, to retreat and jump back away from the smoke.
As he got away from the smoke, he heard a voice behind him.
"Bang, and you're dead."
Amon was already there standing behind him away from the smoke, carrying a shotgun that was pointed at Shigu.
"I believe it was my win, correct?" Amon simply chuckled.
Amon didn't come unprepared, and his preparations were rather simple. He already bought several grenades, molotovs, smoke grenades, flashbangs, etc. All which he hid inside his system inventory.
Of course, there was also a handgun with him which he had put in his coat this time.
And in order to use it, he made it appear that it was part of his sigil. Hence, the hands pressing together motion.
"So, how was my performance, Boss Wang?" Amon asked shamelessly as he chuckled and adjusted his monocle.
