11 Would She Ever Notice Me?

"So, shall we go now?" After finishing his morning breakfast of bread toasts and fried egg, he wiped his face from the table napkin gracefully.

His movement was so elegant that it could be recorded in a camera and put on a replay button.

"Are you both going somewhere?" Her aunt Mia was curious.

She had not even started her plan, yet all the tides were going in her direction?

Elian nodded happily. "Yes, she promised to take me out on a city tour today." His mother nodded, too, pleased with the progress.

"Dear, are you planning to take a day off from campus then?" Mia Anderson looked at Zaria with an adored countenance. She really dotted on her.

Her grandchildren would be so cute considering both Zaria and her son's genes.

Zaria Smith faltered. The silvery knife and fork in her hand stilled.

She actually forgot that she had some classes on campus today.

Last week, she completed her assignment and now today was the last date to hand over that physics assignment, or else her academic marks would be deducted. She did not want that.

No, actually she could not afford that.

She looked at her knight apologetically. She wished she could actually not go to her school and accompany her Elian, but her physics teacher would suck her blood dry if she was given a chance.

Another reason she had resentment with physics was her teacher, Miss. Josephine Steward.

She looked sweet from her appearance like her name, but she actually knew how to give a hell.

For some reasons, she did not like Zaria and would often pick on her. Both of them had an unknown resentment and hatred toward each other.

But who said Zaria Smith was afraid of her?

She would just grin, provoking and irritating Josephine more.

"It's okay. I can drop you at campus and in the meantime, I will visit some of my friends in town and then will come to pick you up. What do you say?" Did Elian just offer her a pick and drop?

Oh God, thank you so much.

Before Zaria could reply, her aunt beat her to it.

Her voice, a little high pitched. She appeared more excited than Zaria. "Yes, yes, you can go together with him, Ria." It was a great opportunity for their bonding.

Her son was willingly trying to have some alone time with their Ria. Was this evidence enough?

"You are in a favour of it, darling?" Mia Anderson looked at her husband who was engrossed in reading the newspaper.

"I am not against it." With Zaria in the equation, John Anderson was very overprotective.

He would not allow having any boy or a future candidate to be with his daughter unless he was worthy of her.

"Drop her where boys aren't near." He gazed at his son's eyes blankly. Elian nodded and his father again busied himself in his reading.

Zaria timidly nodded too, listening to her uncle and aunt's orders.

Elian and she then set off on their journey.

"Do you not like to go to this campus or is there a problem with a subject?" Elian asked his eyes on the rear-view mirror, glancing at Zaria. He had watched how Ria's mood had plummeted.

"I love this campus but I just naturally don't like physics," Zaria said looking at her fingers, fidgeting. Her hands were sweaty. She was too nervous to sit in a car with Elian Anderson alone.

In the car ride, Elian asked Zaria about her, her life and further study plan from time to time, and Zaria answered his asked questions honestly with a little stutter here and there.

The atmosphere eased a little somehow.

When the car ride came to a halt, he swept a glance at the girl sitting beside him in his passenger seat with a soft, little smile.

"Good luck." With a soft pat on her hair, Elian drove the car away.

Dazed, she touched her hair and looked in the direction he had just driven, with a dreamy look.

He touched her head.

When she reached the gates, the girls who were present outside the class, surrounded her.

"Hey, Zaria, who was he?"

"Was he your new driver?"

"But, he was so handsome!"

"Ah! You actually rode with a handsome prince. You're so lucky."

"Do you have his number?"

The girls kept asking her irrelevant questions. Their voices buzzed in her ears like that of the bees'. Zaria felt a headache.

"I didn't know you were this cheap to hook up with men who are older than you." A shrieking voice hit her ears.

There she stood.

Bianca Taylor.

Her rival in almost everything.

Well, everything except for love, but Bianca did not understand it.

She always thought that Zaria had her eyes on her current so-called boyfriend Zach, who was famous for breaking the hearts of campus girls. He was not even that eye-catching.

That Zach guy was not even on a par with her knight, Elian Anderson.

Why would she look for a bronze when she already had a diamond? Only a fool would do that.

Zaria snorted.

Look who was talking.

"People who live in glass houses should not throw stones at others, Bianca. I heard Mr Hudson fought with his wife and his wife is recently searching for the third party that came in between to destroy their relationship. I think it's over for that third party." Zaria commented casually, seemingly innocent.

She was also a sharp mouth. If someone acted like a shrew with her, then she was the biggest shrew ten times worse of it.

Being brought up in a respectful family, she was raised with love, etiquette and manners, but that did not mean she would just listen to anyone badmouthing her.

She knew how to fight back.

And she knew how to win.

"You--" Bianca pointed a finger at Zaria angrily. Zaria Smith's words were a huge slap on her face. Her expressions worsened.

"Why are you getting so worked up? Could it be that the third party is you?"

Bianca faced a lot of humiliation back then when her secret affair with the history teacher, Mr Hudson was found out.

This news got hidden so quickly in a flash, but it was no use hiding since everyone on the campus had already found out.

Just to receive the best grade in her class, she hooked up with a teacher. And here she was scolding Zaria who came out of the car of her future husband's.

Zaria gave her a tired look as if she was fighting with a child. It provoked her rival.

Bianca's minions came and whispered something in her ears.

She glanced around her surroundings, seeing the students whispering to each other in hushed tones. The only thing she cared about was her reputation.

Bianca fled from the place after throwing her one last glare in Zaria's direction hurriedly.

Zaria Smith smiled cutely.

"You okay? Zaria jerked away from the contact. She was still not used to the other males touching her.

"Yeah, I just made her cower back again I guess?" Zaria's haughty tone amused Alec, one of her friends of the group of five. He loved seeing her like this.

Arrogant, full of confidence, and unable to be defeated.

Still, he felt a pang of hurt that Zaria refused his touch.

The windows of Elian's car were not exactly tainted and everything could be seen easily. He patently saw that man had patted her head, and she did not evade his touch.

Then, why did she not like his'?

Alec Williams was a handsome boy of the same age as Zaria, eighteen with slight blond hair and forest green eyes.

With eyes so gentle and smile so charming, many people swooned after him. Sometimes, there were some boys involved too.

All the campus girls had a crush on him, the school prince, but what an irony!

The girl he had a crush on treated him only as a friend. She did not even know his feelings for her.

If he started to be proactive then...

'Would she ever notice me?'

Deep in his thoughts, they attended the class together.

As usual, Miss. Josephine picked on her, but she stopped when she saw the assignment on Zaria's desk.

Only she and Alec had submitted the work assigned by Her. Miss. Josephine was annoyed.

"I have done what you assigned us. I won't be scolded for this, right?"

Miss. Josephine gave Ria a stingy eye, but Ria smiled sweetly at her.

Why this girl?

Clearly, now she could not scold her or she would gain a bad reputation by bullying a student here.

When the class ended, Zaria Smith sighed.

Finally.
